Jennifer Kesse Breaking News: Witness Statement Points To Someone At Work- Kesse Family and OPD Press Conference Scheduled

Update-Podcast of Interview with DANA PRETZER

…”Your daughter seems to have vanished.  We do not know how or why, and we really have nothing to go on.”

If you can possibly imagine hearing those words, which is exactly what Drew and Joyce Kesse were told about their missing daughter Jennifer in 2010.   After an exhaustive and fruitless 4 + years searching for the 24 year old enterprising  analyst for Central Florida Investments, the very agency tasked with reviewing the case gave the Kesse’s their latest emotional contusion.

…”I begged for an FBI review of the case, but at the time, I did not know that only meant that they would review the case and provide recommendations.  I had always been told that the FBI was the best investigators out there.  Those words rendered us despondent yet again.”- Drew Kesse

Island  Girl

Jenn Kesse was in love.   At 24, she owned her condo, made an excellent living just 2 years out of college and was contemplating the “big step” with her boyfriend of one year,  Rob Allen.

Rob, an Englishman, lived in South Florida about two hours away from Jennifer. He had his own career successes and a prior marriage that left him gun shy.

Personal Photo

The couple  was at a crossroads, and the impromptu trip to St. Croix spent with friends and members of Rob’s family was an important one for the relationship.

Jenn phoned her family from the island, and was jubilant.

“…Dad, what kind of rum do you drink- I am in the shop and I don’t and I am in the store here and I want to bring you back something ..”

“Why are you calling me on your vacation and you do not need to bring us anything go enjoy yourself..”, Drew told his thoughtful first born.

While she was away, with her permission,  Jennifer’s younger brother Logan Kesse was enjoying a male bonding endeavor at big sisters new condo in Orlando.  Jenn gave Logan a set of keys over Christmas.

Logan’s posse et al traveled from the family home in Bradenton and arrived Friday January 20th.

The weekend was a great time had by all,  the condo was restored to its pre-frat status and the worst kerfuffle was that Travis Bourguignon,  childhood friend of both Jennifer and Logan, absently left his new work- issued cell  behind.

Jenn and Rob returned to his home via Miami due to flight cancellations Sunday evening.

Jenn left Ft. Lauderdale straightaway Monday morning at 6am for the commute to her job in Ocoee.

She arrives by 8 , works a full day and is walking out of the building with her supervisor, John Willman, when she rings her family from her cell.

At 6:15 PM   Jenn  is on her cell with Mom and Dad while leaving the office.  Logan chimes in to ask sis to FedEx Travis’s phone as he needs it for work.  Jenn commits to sending it overnight the following day, she reminds him she had not even been back to the condo to locate it yet.

Enroute to her condo at Mosaic at Millenia Jenn was gushing about her trip as each family member passed the phone.

This conversation will be the last time Jennifer’s family heard her voice.

As often happens during Caribbean rendezvous- things gelled for the couple, and they decided that they wanted to take the next steps and move in together.   The “who and the where” to be decided upon return to their respective “real worlds”.  The conversation about the “real world” began as Jenn spoke to Rob shortly after her family; the couple ended up in the familiar back and forth regarding who would have the easiest move and so forth.

At 9:57PM Jenn speaks to Rob on her landline  for the last time.

When Jenn misses an 11:15 am meeting the following Tuesday morning,  Joyce Kesse gets a call that Jenn did not make  it in,  and as every Mother very close to their daughter does,  she KNEW.

Joyce Kesse knew immediately her child was in some sort of distress and in minutes had mobilized the family convoy to Orlando.  They arrived at approximately 1:30 after calling the manager on the way and learning Jenn’s car was not there.

The Kesse’s would not leave their missing daughter’s home for 8 months as it became the “Find Jennifer Kesse” headquarters.

Upon arrival, Logan Kesse began banging and kicking doors in the Mosaic at Millenia condo complex he had spent last weekend.   With very little occupancy came scant tenants, and even less information.

The Kesse’s discovered Jennifer’s shower appeared to be wet, a damp towel draped over the dryer, and her bed appeared as if she slept on one side with outfits described as “suitable for work”  draped on the other.

Jenn’s duffle from her trip lay unpacked in the foyer. The pepper spray she had to remove from her keys due to flight regulations lay on the dresser she restored herself.

Her blow-dryer was on the vanity, her pj’s lay on the bath mat outside of the shower, the mail she retrieved when she got home from work  stacked neatly on her counter.

3537 Conroy, Unit #2226  once the proud accomplishment of a beautiful and driven young woman, became a crime scene.

Perhaps.

Victimology 101- Low Risk

Jennifer Kesse was very close with her entire family, but she was a true Daddy’s girl.  Mom and Dad mentored her through her car and home purchases, and Drew Kesse managed the punch list of her newly constructed abode.  He made her ask the condo workers in her condo to put the white paint for the crown molding  in a Tupperware for him and he would paint it himself- it was taking so long.   Or, Dad and Mom welcomed the excuse to come and see her.

Jenn was most uncomfortable with the amount of landscapers and workers around the complex on a daily basis and shared those concerns openly.

Photobucket User Photo

What Jennifer was not open about and known only to her family and close friends, was that she was a four year Spanish major and she was beyond fluent.

She knew what sorts of misogynistic jeers were being shared between a sneering worker or two.

Jenn shared a great deal of personal and romantic information with her parents by all accounts and were in frequent daily contact.  When Jenn  told Drew she expressed her feelings of love to Rob Allen, and he did not “say it back”,  she felt hurt.  The trip with him was a definite test.

She felt the weight of the every- other-weekend commute for someone she had been dating almost a year was going to have to move forward or Jenn was considering moving on.

Jenn had also been approached by a vendor turned personal friend who was working with her to launch the companies new debit system- to consider going out on a romantic date with him.

Scott Stryker would have to cool his jets for now.  Jennifer told him while they had a business relationship and she was currently in one , there was no chance of anything more.

In another Dad-Daughter chat,  Jenn told Drew that she was having an issue with a co-worker who was overly fawning and complimentary, asking her out constantly.  Jenn asked her dad his thoughts about the concept of just going out to lunch with a person to tell them that you were not interested in them.   Was that was a kinder option than just saying no, where she stood to risk an interpersonal situation she did not want?  Jenn did not disclose that her office admirer was married with children.   Drew believes that fact may have raised some necessary red flags for him back then.

Drew advised Jennifer not to go on any outing that might be perceived as a  date, but to agree to lunch and have the conversation in a lighter setting, and that was the best she could do.  In a follow up discussion between the two,  Jenn told Drew she had done just that and it went fine.

Commensurate Panic

“She had a fight with her boyfriend, she took off, happens all the time, she will be back in a couple hours.- OPD detective”

The Kesse’s knew better.  Rob Allen and Jenn’s best friend Lauren were at her condo by the afternoon and the people that knew her better than anyone were terrified; Jennifer was in trouble and panic set in.

While it was unknown until discovered 2 days later, a closed circuit camera catches an unknown suspect parking her 2004 black Chevy Malibu in the visitor spot at the Huntingdon On The Green apartments, approximately 1.2 miles away from her condo, at noon.

At approximately 7PM a missing person report was filed for Jennifer Joyce Kesse and a BOLO was dispatched by Orlando Police Department for her car.

On January 24, 2012 Jennifer Kesse will be missing for 6 years.  In that time she has had a dozen detectives working on her case, it has been transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation at the Kesse’s request, and her case is being reviewed by the 8th review team tomorrow morning followed by a press conference arranged by Orlando Police Department and FDLE.

There have been numerous  searches,  both organized by the Kesse’s efforts as well as law enforcement which have not yielded a shred of evidence associated with Jennifer Kesse.  Last week was the largest search effort to date.

This is largely due to the fact that the 2 detectives originally assigned to the case who retired on the same day 9 months in, never kept a single note.  Not even a water-stained cocktail napkin with a smeared phone number. Nada.

Prevailing Theories For The Weary

Because Jennifer appeared to have slept in her bed and got ready for work, the prevailing theory has always been that she “at least got out the door” the morning of Tuesday January 24 and was abducted prior to getting to her car.

Water droplets in the tub at 1:30 PM notwithstanding,  I have never understood why investigators seemed to be so married to this theory.  In fact, in the few years I have known Drew Kesse  through our respective advocacy work and mutual associations,  it was not until a few months ago we ever discussed Jennifer’s case for that very reason.

I told Drew I would absolutely be willing to have my team’s resources look into Jenn’s case,  but to be honest, I really didn’t believe I could offer any insights as I did not subscribe to the prevailing theory in the case.  I have worked on cases before where that has been the situation and found it futile in progressing leads, which is of course is the goal.

The last thing I want to do is upset the apple cart, and in my mind, this is a personal crime, not a random construction person or landscaper.  The odds of Jennifer being abducted by a stranger in broad daylight at that hour, in full view of a handful of people in visual proximity, carrying her keys and a briefcase at her size, and with her physical strength does not jibe for me.     It also does not even begin to touch the statistics that agree with my position.

I told Drew, “I really think it is likely someone Jennifer knew.  It might be someone she did not know well, or their intentions certainly, but everything I have ever reviewed on the case has not excluded that possibility for me.   Statistically speaking alone,  if this is a homicide case, and preliminarily I do believe that is the most likely scenario- there is a greater than 90% chance she knew her killer.

Jenn is a low risk victim for a random and stranger perpetrated abduction, period.

His response to me was crisp.  “Christina,  I do not care about theories or whose they are, I just do not want to go in the ground without knowing what happened to my daughter- if you have a different thought or approach,  there is nobody closed off to any possibility.  We just want her found,  it will be six years of Hell, and she deserves to come home.”

For the last 3 months the investigative team at www.blinkoncrime.com has analyzed thousands of documents, conducted numerous interviews of sources both willing and unwilling to discuss her case publicly in conjunction with on-location review.

Separating the wheat from the chaff would not come easy.  But wheat we found.

Exclusively on www.blinkoncrime.com,  all new facts in Jennifer’s disappearance are marked with an asterisk.

Random Abduction In Open Stairwell

Despite the fact that there were literally over 100 different workers on site, all of which would have been there by 7am when the bulk of the workday started for landscapers and contractors, neither saw nor heard anything unusual that morning.  In fact, not one person interviewed remembers seeing Jennifer’s car* that morning upon arrival.

The door to Jennifer’s condo was locked with no sign of forced entry or any sort of scuffle in her home.  Dishes in the dishwasher were clean*, and likely ran by Logan when he left, no dishes in the sink.  (Editors Note: If you have not already, run your shower for 15 minutes at the showerhead trajectory of a 5’8” tall person and keep track of the time you can say with certainty you do not find water droplets.  It should be noted of course that the assumption continues to be made that it was Jenn that actually showered.)

To my knowledge the only conclusive fact about when Jennifer Kesse was last in her apartment is that she spoke to Rob Allen on her landline to his cell phone at 9:57PM.

Well, that, and her phone was NOT in it* at 10:40PM when it’s power source was removed after pinging in a location intentionally being withheld by www.blinkoncrime.com.

Jenn’s condo was equipped with a working intrusion alarm*.  She had disarmed it because Logan was visiting for the weekend.  It was not* armed when the family arrived the afternoon she was discovered missing.

According to a source inside the management company servicing Mosaic at the time, they have never been asked to produce any sort of reporting* as to its settings by Orlando Police (OPD).

In a conversation with the condo’s current owner, those records would no longer be available as of the date of this writing.

The ancillary objects pointing to Jennifer sleeping in her condo that night could just as easily reflect that she took a nap, showered and went out, or was roused from her bed by an unexpected visitor known to her.

Jennifer’s glasses* were located in the bathroom, not next to her bed.

Missing from her closet are her favorite taupe snake print pumps*

Found in Jennifer’s hamper was a man’s sweater* that does not belong to any known male associates of hers and is believed to fit no larger than a medium build individual.

Previously thought to be missing but discovered after being returned to the Kesse’s by OPD years later, was her brown pocketbook* she used on her trip.  It had been packed in the duffel bag located on the floor in the foyer.

There were 2 workers that had access to work orders inside Jenn’s condo*.  Both men were interviewed, agreed to take polygraph tests administered by the FBI and were subsequently cleared.*   The identities of those individuals did not produce any criminal records.

To date, Jennifer’s keys, wallet, iPod, LG phone and briefcase are missing.  Travis Bourgignion’s phone has never been recovered and pings from his phone confirm it ran out of power over the weekend.*

2004 Chevrolet Malibu

#2226 parking spaces was located to the rear of the building which allowed those familiar with the complex to access the back entrance, which was not enclosed due to the construction.

Jennifer used the front entrance* that evening when returning from work to pick up her mail on the way in.

There was no sign of any foul play in either the exterior or interior of Jenn’s car.

Found on the floor of the front passenger side of her car were the flip flops she wore home from work that afternoon as well as a pair she wore in St. Croix.* Also found* were aspirin, her broken mail key, a business card, her sunglasses and cell charger (not plugged in and wrapped around the gear shift).

A DVD player for her bedroom given to her by Rob Allen and strapped in with the seatbelt was located in the backseat.

The Malibu was found locked in the lot of The Huntingdon On The Green apartments on January 26th.

It was removed at the request of OPD by a flatbed tow truck prior to CST processing, and prior to any assessment as to whether or not it was in working condition or impaired in some way, causing Jenn to need assistance.

As it was equipped with coded keys*, the suspect who parked it had to have Jennifer’s original key. Attempting to use a spare  would have been rendered it inoperable.

Drew Kesse was never asked to provide a second coded key in his possession at the home in Bradenton so it is unclear how OPD was able to gain access and perform any necessary diagnostics.

Fatal Familiarity?

Distrust all those who love you extremely upon a very slight acquaintance and without any visible reason.  – Lord Chesterfield

It is ironic that the initial LE theory was that Jenn was essentially pitching a fit over a boyfriend, but spent the bulk of early efforts running down the potential illegal alien and day-labor dujour angles.

The usual suspects were easy to clear- Rob’s cell was at his home and then work, where he was, but he agreed to and passed a polygraph test.   Matthew Sullivan, the former boyfriend who was so devastated at the news of Jennifer’s disappearance he drank himself senseless for two weeks and was described as “inconsolable”-cleared.  Vendors- cleared.   Any and all known male associates-cleared.

Astonishingly, it was not until almost 3 and half years after Jennifer Kesse disappeared that the first of Jenn’s co-workers were interviewed.   You read that sentence correctly.

Connections to completely unassociated cases (Grinstead) and abduction by a Dubai sheik theories were apparently the priority.   Apparently the Liam Neeson blockbuster “Taken” was at least partially inspired on the publicly known aspects of Jenn’s case as the Kesse’s received a call from one of the movie’s producers.

Occam and the good men and women of OPD assigned to this case are strangers, I fear.

In their defense, and I guess also by default, playing the hand they were dealt by the early detectives who apparently had developed their own secret decoder implements without sharing, was the wrong kind of flush.

As I began my interviews among colleagues of Jenn’s that would speak to me on the condition of anonymity only, I was repeatedly asked if I spoke to an individual by the name of Johnny Campos*.

In a subsequent follow up interview with Drew Kesse, I asked him if he was familiar with that name.

“Yes, that is the guy I told you about that Jenn said was asking her out constantly and I told her to have lunch with and let him down easy that way instead of a date.”

“I  remember because I asked her to repeat his name.  I thought it odd for an adult businessman to go by the name “Johnny” at the office.   I can’t remember what year, I think it was about 2 years ago, Joyce and I were at one of our sponsored events at the Mall and he introduced himself.”

I said, He introduced himself to you?

“Not to me, I was talking, but I saw him.  He walked up to Joyce and said that he had worked with Jenn and that before she went missing the office had a secret Santa exchange where he got her name.”

“He bought her this ornament type thing, really beautiful, in a red velvet box thingie or stand that sat on her desk.”

I said,  Didn’t OPD secure the things from her cube?

He answered, “I have no idea, he just said she kept it on her desk and he thought we should have it.”

Further interviews and  investigation led me to Campos’s subordinate, who knew both Johnny Campos and Jenn Kesse.

In fact, he was stationed in the cubicle next to Jenn and what I learned next will undoubtedly be the WTF moment in this case.

Because of the open investigation and his status as a possible material witness, I will refer to him as Adam Frank, which is not his real name.  Frank’s statements to me have been independently verified through multiple sources or you would not be reading them here.

Adam had been working for Central Florida Investments for eight years before being fired for asking his bosses to investigate the alleged harassment perpetrated against him by his supervisor, Johnny Campos, since the day Jennifer Kesse disappeared.  He believed it was because he knew specifics about them, and for what he told Orlando Police and subsequently the FBI, which was corroborated by the polygraph he requested to take.

After his superiors had met with OPD weeks earlier, In May 2009 Adam Frank received a subpoena served to him at the office in full view of his peers, to meet with FDLE the following week.

He told them the following (notes from our interview):

He was friends with Johnny.   One time when he said to Jennifer in an email about work, but wrote at the last line she looked nice today,  Johnny asked him why he would say that to her,  was he interested in her?  Adam told him that he was just being nice and asked him how he knew about it in the first place. Campos ignored the question.   On another occasion,  he had walked past Campos and Jenn in the hallway and they were laughing.  He thought it was about him because of the email so he asked them, both replied absolutely no, and shared whatever they were laughing about; alleviating Frank’s angst.

It was short-lived,  on Friday January 20th, upon learning of Jenn’s impromptu trip with her boyfriend, Campos was bending Adam’s ear like a wanna be jealous boyfriend.   Campos told him that Jenn was a jerk for dating that Brit a-hole and other fill in the blank derogatory insults.  Adam was uncomfortable and reminded Campos that Campos was a married man and he did not want anything to do with the conversation or get in the middle of whatever was going on; he needed his job.

Johnny Alberto Campos Facebook Pic

On Monday morning January 23rd, around 8am, Adam overhears Campos confront Jenn upon her return while in his cubicle, unbeknownst to them.

While I have the full statement of what was said between the two,  in the interest of preserving case sensitive information I will provide a summary.

Campos confronted her about where she was and who she was with.  Jenn responded she had a fantastic time, loved it and hated to leave; Campos was audibly and visibly perturbed.  At no time did either become aware that Adam overheard the exchange.

At least not until he met with OPD for the second time in 2009 where they informed Adam that Campos had been interviewed based on his information.   At this time, everything made sense to Adam as to what was going on since the day Jennifer disappeared.

When Campos showed up for work around noon * on Tuesday January 24th appearing overtly nervous and pacing around,  Frank thought he was acting strangely, but it did not escalate to “scary” until a few hours later where it was learned through the grapevine that Jenn Kesse might have been abducted.  Campos is a supervisor and therefore not required to keep a timecard.

The next day, Wednesday January 25th,  if you can believe it, proved to be even stranger.

Johnny Campos asks Adam to drive the pair to the new Westgate office at Lake Eleanor.  Adam thought it bizarre since it was not either man’s responsibility to do such, but agreed.

It is not clear if Campos was without his 2000 blue Ford Taurus that day.  On the way, Campos asked Adam how far his brother lived from there, the one with the vacant apartment next to his and if they could stop there and ask him if he heard anything.

During the drive Campos told Adam wherever she (Jenn) was, “she was likely eaten up by alligators already.

Adam asked him not to say such things- Campos repeated it.

Adam and Campos stopped in at the lake Eleanor office , said hello to a few colleagues and headed back.

Over the next four years, until Adam Frank had the second meeting at HIS request with the FBI in an attempt to further allegations he felt were not being taken seriously by OPD, he claims Campos harassed him on the job relentlessly.  Things were about to get worse.  The FBI advised him if he was having problems at work over the issue, he should go to his superiors.

On January 19  2011, he did.  In three subsequent internal meetings with varying levels of seniority Adam repeated his story about his treatment by his immediate supervisor and concerns for his physical safety if Campos was involved in what happened to Jennifer Kesse.  He finally requested a meeting with John Willman and told him the events he was going through were making him physically ill and asked for his help to review and or expedite his complaint.

Three days later,  Adam received a call from Willman where he told him his issues with Campos and the Kesse case were not good for the company and he would be terminated effective immediately.  At no time was Frank ever told the status or outcome of his complaint against Campos.  Johnny Campos is the only contemporary of Jennifer’s to maintain his position to date.  Attempts to reach Mr. Campos and Mr. Willman for comment were not returned.

Ironically, Adam Frank files a grievance against Johnny Campos 5 years to the day Campos returned to CFI after a short stint in Lake County jail for ripping up a citation the morning of January 16th.

Campos was remanded to Lake County jail on bond, and after his wife posted the required $500  and a brief appearance on the 18th returned to work on the first day Jennifer Kesse was off; likely learning about her departure then.

The only known suspect in the disappearance is the individual that was recorded parking her vehicle.

The Kesse’s have been invited to a review of Jennifer’s case tomorrow morning at 9am, followed by the invitation to local media to ask questions on the status of the case from OPD and the Kesse’s.

Drew Kesse and Christina Stoy,  BOC Editor In Chief will be discussing the case on THE DANA PRETZER SHOW Wednesday January 18th at 9PM.

I know on the job sites I have been involved with its very commen to allow workers to stay on site. It off sets cost if the contractors are from out of town. We have traveled all over the US and have done both, either stayed hotels or on site. I know if the work is going to be longer than what we normally do (2-3 weeks max)stay on site along with the other contractors that are doing the work they are there to do. I think its even more commen with large appartments complex and condo’s. I have a cousin that owned a siding company that worked mainly on appartments and they always stayed on site. Im not sure that has anything to do with this case just chiming in I guess LOL

Learn how to write. Your story telling is as bumpy as an old country road, and winding as one too.

I am not sure you meant it that way but from a literary perspective I think you paid me a huge compliment.

    Thank you.

As long as the bump and wind (long I) lead to Jennifer Kesse and arrests for those complicit, I am happy to sit in the dunk tank.

Very intriguing. Amazing that the police wouldn’t have questioned Johnny, the guy who “she was having an issue with, a co-worker who was overly fawning and complimentary, asking her out constantly.”
From everything I read, I believe Johnny was upset and confronted Jennifer @ work her 1st day back about her vacation with Rob. Jennifer decided to meet with Johnny that night for drinks to implement “the concept of just going out with a person(johnny) to tell them(him) that you were(She is) not interested.(She didn’t tell Rob because she didn’t want to upset him when things were finally meshing together.) That night,Johnny got angry. Killed her in a heat of passion, disposed of her body, her cell,& Travis cell where “she was likely eaten up by alligators.” Johnny came back to her condo. Set the scene to look as if she slept at the condo. In the AM, he showered in her condo.re-dressed in his clothes from the night before except for his sweater, so he wasn’t wearing any identifying clothing. Put on a hat. Drove Jennifer’s car and parked it 1.5 miles away @11am. Walked back to her condo to get his car. and drove into work at 12ish. The next day he took his car to be detailed so there was no evidence that Jennifer was in his car, hence the reason he needed a ride from Frank.
They should ask Johnny’s wife if she recognizes the sweater. Did they do any forensics on the sweater or the “damp” towel?

  6. tennismum says:

Did they do anything about the dog seen by the cctv that I called in as to the dog standing by the white parked car? It is not moving in the image to the man passing as POI? Does this man have or own a guard dog like a large boned dog we have found to be by this parked car? It is like a husky dog with tail down, not up? Have FBI noticed this before?

  7. tennismum says:

I have an expert forensic imaging company who are willing to look at the cctv image by themselves. I have sent that request to the Orlando Chief of Police to send direct to this top forensic imaging company in the United Kingdom. That email redirected wass sent by me to them linking them at 6.22 am UK time. Note there is a five hour time difference. Please make sure Drew Kesse knows of this and the company. I will send the details via Klaassend on SM in IM.

This request was a networking one as one expert in the field on Conferences as an imaging specialist and analyst. It is in good faith to do this.

Can you be reached at this email? I am aware of another firm offering this previously, was that you as well?

I can facilitate the offer directly with detectives, but I will need all the details please.

That is him! He totally looks like the guy from the video.

I literally got the chills when I looked at his photo. I have thought about this case for years. I pray for some answers.

  10. Deborah says:

    Blink, you say
“To my knowledge, he was in 16-18, returning to work on 1/19/06. That was Jenn’s first day off, although she was in the area the evening of the 18th at a downtown Orlando bar we are withholding the name of for the moment for investigative reasons. We know she was not there with any of her close friends or Rob.”

    And then:
” Jenn was not one to go out by herself to a bar; I could find no evidence of her ever doing that.”

Was JC released on the 18th or the 19th? Do you know if he was also at that downtown bar on the 18th? If Jenn didn’t go to bars by herself and wasn’t there with her close friends or Rob, do you have any idea with whom she went?

  11. wow, this campos guy should be a person of interest.

  12. Jonathan K. says:

Reading this makes the hairs on my neck stand up. The surveillance video did not provide a GOOD look at the obvious suspect but it provided enough of a glimpse where there is a STRIKING resemblence between the man on the cctv, and Johnny Campos.
Is his walk similar? How tall is JC? They said the suspect on the tape was about 5’7, not that tall. Is JC somewhat short? This makes way more sense than some random construction/landscape worker who was probably just happy to have a job or residency, obviously if a stranger abducted Jennifer she would’ve screamed and fought. No no no, this was CLEARLY someone she knew, and voluntarily spent time with.
Where is Johnny Campos now? I will gladly go get the truth from him.

  13. lnyk says:

I recently saw the repeat of 48 Hours: Hard Evidence, about Jennifer Kesse. They showed a person of interest parking her car.In a condo’s video they showed this person walking pass a gate. I thought the guy had either a bad haircut ,or was wearing a baseball cap backwards. I saw a picture of a Cricket player. The Cricket hat would explain the weird shape of the hat. A baseball cap when worn backwards, would look like a duck bill. The Cricket hat had the same rounded edges,as the figure on the video tape ,who parked Jennifer’s car.

  14. lnyk says:

The POI in the condo video seems to be wearing a Cricket cap ,which would explain the weird shape in the back.A baseball cap when worn backwards ,looks like a duck bill, the POI in the video, has a rounded cap/hat which resembles a hat worn in Cricket.

  15. Lee says:

When a man. who is married and is pursuing a young unmarried co-worker
such as Jennifer Kesse, mentions that alligators probably have gotten
her, more than once, to another co-worker in the same business, that
makes chills go up and down my spine and sends up huge red flags.

If a reputable computer company can work on that film of the suspect
in that parking lot, there may be a way to reveal enough in order to
trace him/her. My bet is that is is a man. The stride of that
suspect in the picture appears to be long, but his legs appear to be
    rather short.

How tall is Johnny Campos? How short are his legs? Any married
man who is obsesses with a young single woman in the same office
and who mentions that the alligators probably got her would be a
    suspect in my eyes immediately!!!

Has anyone taken a picture of Johnny Campos walking and his stride
and the length of his legs??? With any suspect, that is what I
would do. It also appears that the suspect in the picture is
wearing a ball cap, and from what I can tell the back of his head
sports a short, close to the scalp, hair cut.

whether true or not, the alligator statement by a co-worker, is
a very bad sign into the character of that person. Hispanic
married men generally have mistresses. That is part of their
culture and history, and it doesn’t matter whether the other
intended (not the wife) is married or not.

I would track every step that Campos has made. He sounds like the
best lead to finding out the truth.

  16. the stats show jenn was snatched by someone she knew. the theory a worker did it does not add up.

    Agreed entirely.

As an example of LE commitment to a theory and/or suspect- take the Etan Patz case. Pedro confessed almost annually according to his family. This time, he was taken seriously, and a search of his home recently turned up items that MAY be relevant to Etan’s disappearance and likely murder after they jackhammered a basement in SoHo for days connected ultimately to their number 1 and 2 suspects for 30 plus years.

At the end of the day, investigators need to know if a dog ain’t hunting, maybe that dog does not.

  19. Deborah says:

IMO the POI parking the car is NOT Johnny Campos. The sun was directly overhead when the car was parked at 12 or even 1pm according to camera time stamp. Yet the markings on POI’s neck remain clearly visible in both shots – left and right of the gate, meaning they are NOT shadows (sorry Blink!), but, in fact, tattoos of some sort. In the mugshots of Mr. Campos there are NO tattoos visible on his neck in either the left or right side shots. To my mind this eliminates him as the POI who parked the car.

  20. Deborah says:

Another thing I would like to mention regarding the construction workers at the mosaic. I have been giving this a little think for some time. So….here goes. OK, I am a developer of property at the Mosaic. It has taken me a great deal of time, money and effort to put together the principals to get this project off the ground. Am I going to hire Joe Schmo off the street to get the work done? I don’t think so. I’m going to use the same people I’ve used in the past, over and over again. A great deal of time has been used in discussing the “disappearing workers” theory after Jenn’s disappearance. I don’t buy into this. Firstly, If I am putting up condos, office buildings or private residences, I am going to want to (to quote MGM), “Do it right, make it big and give it class!”, ESPECIALLY if my name and reputation are on the line. There are some who would have us believe these workers were just chosen helter skelter off the streets. Though I know some extraneous workers were, I submit that these crews were brought in, en masse, from other areas – say Miami…..Ft. Lauderdale, etc., housed in the empty condos in groups if necessary, and, when things heated up following Jenn’s disappearance, shipped back from whence they came. I do not adhere to the “without a trace” theory in any way, shape or form. I believe what we have witnessed is the classic “circling of the wagons”. The truth will out eventually. Someone will talk. Jenn’s hero is out there.

  21. @Deborah
I am on record since day one I do not believe Campos parked the car.

  22. @Deborah
I effing hope so. This case is very personal for me, even though though that feeling is against my training.

I continue to believe this is a solvable case.

I continue to believe the answers Will be exactly where we said they are.

James Hataway needs to be looked at again, and the recently paroled Tyler Watters. Watters was Hataway’s buddy who was at the scene of the deceased Onda Christopher George’s final resting place during the staging and repositioning of George’s vehicle. Watters does have a neck tattoo of a cross on the right side of his neck. And speaking of tattoo’s…Hataway has a tattoo of a 4 leaf clover on his left leg and Jennifer Kesse had a quarter sized tattoo of a shamrock on her left hip? I don’t believe Jennifer’s workplace had ANYTHING to do with her disappearence. I don’t believe Jennifer is a sex slave and anyone with a rudimentary working knowledge of the industry knows Jennifer doesn’t fit the statistics. I think she was, however, a victim of a violent crime as was Tracy Ocasio last seen leaving The Florida Tap Room with James Hataway. I started out in law enforcement in corrections in 2003 completed the cross-over into L.E in 2008. Lastly, this Johnny Campos crap? Really? You are looking for a murderer not a supposed asshole.

Respectfully Bpoint- you need to do your research and diligence, starting with reading my work on Jenn’s case. If you are in LE as you say, than you are making assumptions that have already been discounted and ignoring verified facts.

U have a healthy amount of pompitous that comes across in your writings that indicate someone who has found the magic beans to try and be superior to others in life. I wouldn’t be stunned to learn u have a ‘team’ in a driveway in Michigan digging for Hoffa. Kidding. I am located in South Florida but I have made lifelong friends in L.E including corrections and probabtion in the Orlando area. The info I am privy to clearly isn’t as privy as yours. I am aware Hataway was discounted t’was why I used the word ‘again’. In the end, this isn’t a missing person case anymore because that isn’t as interesting to people as a ‘whodunnit’. I say there is no mud on your tires to this whole Central Florida Investments theory but I am sure u think it is a pretty drive…

Not to be rude, but I have no time or inclination to decifer what the hell you are talking about.

  29. CarriAnna says:

One of those cases that just haunts us. I think Campos should be a POI in this case. And the alligators statement bugs me. There are more than one possible theory here, though. I had spoken to Drew Kesse about this one. If this was done by a worker at the condo, the most likely thing they would do would be to seal her up in an existing crawlspace and build a wall over it, or create a crawlspace and seal it up. They would have had access to materials and it would be the easiest way to hide a body. We do not know if the person who drove Jenn’s car was the actual person who took her. This could have been a friend of that person or someone that was paid to drive the car. Until that building is torn apart piece by piece, wall and floor at a time, this will always been a possibility, that she never got to leave that condo.

Second theory for me would be that it was someone she knew who knocked on her door and got her. Or was waiting till she was out her door and had locked it so she couldn’t run back in.

I wouldn’t drop the Campos theory at all. In many cases we’ve seen over the years, it usually turns out to be something like that, where we find the alibi was a lie and it was in fact someone that had been cleared.

How many areas over there have gators? How far could a body have been taken within a radius that has gators? That’s something that will always bug me. And I still want the entire condo complex ripped to shreds. It would be very easy for a worker to hide a body when they had the access to materials.

I would hope we get answers some day. This case needs real closure.

CarriAnna- I am not sure if you read my piece. It includes over 260 investigative hours not including fact checks and research to include direct witnesses in this case. Mr. Campos did not respond to request for comment or interview.

I stand by my piece, and findings that are known to LE and Mr. Kesse and the Kesse family that may not have been published as they are case sensitive.

Mr. Campos and his associations have direct answers in this case- of that I have no reservation. It is the LE errors that have weighted progress in this case and until they are willing to address that and move past it, or Jennifer is recovered, this remains status quo. Jenn will be with me always and she and they- deserve for her to come home to her family.

[...] Here’s an interesting post from this site “Blink on Crime” (take it with a grain of salt, admittedly, as with most things above).  First, it sheds a little more light on the potential events of the morning Kesse went missing — the week prior, she had been on a cruise with her boyfriend/fiancee, and her younger brother (Logan Kesse) was staying at her condo with some friends. One of them, Travis Bourguignon, had lost his cell phone; Jennifer Kesse was mailing it back to him that morning, which may have caused her to leave the house looking for a small mailbox somewhere. (Apparently, this all led to “street talk” several weeks after her disappearance that she was still alive and being held somewhere, so much so that the police did a Sunday night raid.) 34. Vivian says:

    Hi,

Could Jennifers disappearance be related to Israel Keyes?

Unless LE is absolutely sure that the POI was the driver of Jenn’s car, I think that it could be possible and here’s why:

Israel Keyes was reported to have family in the Orlando area
He admitted to breaking into 30+homes across the US(I believe someone was waiting in one of the 2 walk in closets in her apartment and attacked her after she got off the phone with Rob.
Israel Keyes removed the battery from his phone when he was committing his crimes, so he would have been very conscious of the fact that Jenns phone would ping if the battery remained in it.
When he killed Samantha Koenig her phone was left in the coffee shop, he returned to the shop to retrive it after he kidnapped Samantha. He may have taken Jenn’s phone before he left with her from her apartment in ase he wanted to demand money from her family via her phone.
He admitted to sleeping , eating and showering in some of his victims homes after killing them. This could account for the wet towel and shower.
He was over 6 feet tall but was very slender, perhaps a medium sweater would have fit him.
He was known to to taunt le and victims and families with seemingly useless clues.
After kidnapping the Curriers in VT, he put them in their own car, drove them to a vacant house and then drove their car to an apartment complex approx a mile from the Curriers and parked it near a dumpster
I read somewhere on the internet(cannot remember where) that le had received a disturbing clue from someone from Anchorage AK. Keyes was from AK.
Finally, Keyes was a carpenter, could have been working in Jenn’s apartment complex.

Just my thoughts…Sorry for the length of my post.

    Vivian

    Welcome Vivian-
I have been in contact with the FBI about that possibility. According to them, and my own field work- there is no nexus whatsoever.

  35. Ed says:

Hi to all here. I have looked at both still video images and found that the person walking past the gate is not the same person who parked Jennifer Kesse car. There is ways to clear up enough that still video image but not clear enough like looking at a picture. These clues can be use to follow up on leads that are given to the Orlando police department to look into. This case has been so handled badly wrong from the very start from what i have read. I think they should be looking back at the Condo area and the people who were working there and the close connections with the people she had. I feel there is more than one person involved. Why did the POI walk back to the condo area that they tracked with their dogs did the POI have their vehicle parked there or did they work there. Was it a person who worked at the condo when they were still building it. Was it the x boyfriend with help and the help moving the vehicle away from the condo area to throw things off.Was it to do with her work someone hiring someone to do this because they were afraid of going to jail because of the wrong doings at her place of work.I feel they should be working on the images of the POI while still in the vehicle and after walking on the street not the person walking on the other side of the gate.

  36. Vivian says:

    Hi all,

I just realized tonight that the poi is not wearing a hat, his/her hair is not in a bun nor is this the way the hair is cut. This person is wearing one of those thick, terry cloth, possibly braided sweat bands. This band is actually darker than this persons hair. If you look at it, this person’s hair is considerably lighter than the band.

  37. Vivian says:

I have a few questions. I have read every word here about Jennifer Kesse or so I think. Perhaps I just missed the answer to my questions, so please forgive me if this is the case.

1-does anyone know what time Jenn’s coworker(poi) left work on Jenn’s last day at work?

2-this coworker poi became angry after reading an email sent to Jenn with a compliment regarding how nice she looked that day, this is a stretch but would anyone have any idea what her outfit was that she was wearing on the day that she received the compliment?

3-I know Jenn’s condo was not processed by le but was Logan or any of his friends questioned regarding how they left Jenn’s condo when they left? I have a reason for asking this due to a discussion on WS regarding her condo.

4-I have read here I believe in 2012 regarding a discussion regarding the things in Jenn’s desk at work and that the Kesses had only received an ornament from her desk given to her by the coworker poi. Is this still the case? I know at the time that no one knew if she kept an extra condo key in her desk at work, is this still the case? Is it possible that she kept an extra key in her work desk?

Again, forgive me if my questions have been discussed previously.

Blink, this is such a wonderful site. Thanks for all that you have done for Jennifer and her parents. Great job!!

  38. Scoobienoob says:

i saw an interesting photo on Google earth. There are gators literally around the corner from her apartment and where her car was found. Someone posted a photo of it and pinned it on google earth just to the north east of her condo. I wish I could post the photo.

  39. Scoobienoob says:

There’s a lake on the corner of john young and millennia pkwy. There’s a lot of lakes around there. I am curious if the police ever checked those lakes. Also the bigger lake behind the Home Depot was totally dug up. They drained it and now it’ looks like a giant strip mine or huge quarry. I fished that pond years ago. I never saw any gators but you never know.

I just thought the ” gator” comment was weird after having just saw that photo. I didn’t know there were gators around there.

  40. Winecoat214 says:

I agree with so many that have posted comments as to the fact that this case in particular haunts them. So many people have added very good insight and have great questions.
One person has made the comment that there is not really any conclusive evidence that it was indeed Jennifer that had showered in her condo in the morning. I believe even Blink posed the question as to what time Jennifer last showered.
I have absoloutely no connection wit LE and even less knowledge or experience with any type of investigating.
I would like to share some of my thoughts.
My first question is clearly her car……..why return the car nearby…
Also i have recently had a long distance relationship and driven the very route from Ft.Lauderdale back to Orlando, if Jenn had spoken to her boyfriend on her way home, did she stop for fuel or coffee, and if so, how where maybe a CC will show if she filled her car up. So if she allegedly was abducted the very next morning her car was unaccounted for for a full 5 hours, how much fuel was in it when it was found?? And did the police try to dust the gas cap for prints??
Another question is……..WHO WAS JENNIFER KESSE?? No one ever tells us anything about her…what did she do with herself…..clearly she was not a robot and drive from work to condo and back to work…..where did she usually eat? She just had a long vacation weekend, drove 2.5 hours straight to work…worked until 6… Rob must know where she ate… And with who?? What did she do between leaving work and 9:30 when she talked to Rob on her land line,
Why does she not have any friends??? Women always have close friends that know everything.
Did she go to a gym?? How does she usually meet her boyfriends??
Also I don’t believe it’s Campo at all, married guys that are like Campo hit on every hottie that walks within 25 feet of them… He certainly would not obsess to the point of killing her just for bootie call. And if so he would have forced himself upon her in her apartment.
And would have left signs of a struggle.
I don’t care much for the anonymous snitch…..I don’t trust him at all….how convenient he strictly remember the “alligator comment” ……if Johnny had any knowledge of the crime…..why would he confide in a guy he did not care for..especially when there was known tension already….with the email comment that Campo “SUPPOSEDLY” called him out on…and the laughing in the hallway.
I am not sure Campo ever asked the guy for a ride to meet Hernandez or whoever either.
Someone should investigate this Adam guy… He creeps me out…. Just basing that on his statements.
My only other question is……has anyone ruled out Wittness Protection for Jennifer??? Seems like there were bad guys all around her laundering tons of money and financing drug opps.
We all know how Shady Central FL can be…..
Has anyone ever asked if Jenn had an affair with Tiger Woods, seriously…he was tapping every beautiful young white girl in that very area. How do we know Jennifer was not one of his many……

  41. Vivian says:

Would it have been possible for someone to have hidden out in Jenn’s apartment unbeknownst to her until she got in in the shower or made her last phone call?

A coworker may have had access to her condo and car keys when Jenn was away from her desk if Jenn just left them lying on her desk. This person could have possibly taken the keys and had copies made while Jenn was in a meeting and have them returned before she missed them…

This abduction just seems much more than a Mosaic worker obsessed with Jenn. The man seen walking away from her car just seems sure of himself not nervous at all…like he has done something like this before…either that or oblivious to what had just occurred with Jenn…

I hope that 2016 is Jenn’s year to find peace.

Vivian, welcome to BOC. I suppose it would be possible, yes. As you read my piece- I am of the opinion this crime was perpetrated by someone Jennifer knew well, probably incensed by a romantic interest.
    B

  42. Vivian says:

“IF” Jennifer is no longer alive, if her body were found would there be enough evidence for a prosecutor to take to a grand jury for indictment?

I know that there is probably much more evidence than LE has released to the public, ie, pings, possible video recordings of Jennifers car on John Young Parkway. Her car was deemed a “crime scene” for some reason…

I would just like for the Kesse’s to finally get the answers they deserve and to get Jennifer back.

It would depend on what evidence was gleaned from the scene and if it tied to anyone potentially.
    B

  43. Vivian says:

I thought perhaps there might be enough evidence currently but prosecutor would not move to indict without a body???

Regarding Jennifers key fob and spray that was located by people walking in Windmere, FL. there is some speculation on line that these items were found on Jennifer Lane in Windmere….if this is true, what kind of a sick joke or statement is this?

Also, in doing some research, the owner of Westgate Resorts(Jennifers’ employer) lives in Windmere or did…if indeed her key fob and spray were found on Jennifer Lane this is only a little over three miles to the Westgate owners home. Could someone be attempting to be cute or trying to send a message of some sort about Jennifers’ disappearance/location??

B-Love your work, this is a great site.

    Vivian

    Vivian, thank you.

The location of the pepper spray is case sensitive for now. However, I can assure all it was not found on “Jennifer Lane”. David Siegel is ultimately Jenn’s boss and he is building Versailles and recently lost his daughter to a drug overdose. I stand firmly behind my work in this case. Jennifer was killed by someone she knew. That happened and this kind and loving young woman deserves for her family to lay her to rest and for a successful prosecution.

Let me say this again. Jennifer Kesse was killed by someone she knew, and I am not referring to a condo worker. This case will never leave me until it is solved.

    B

  44. Vivian says:

I have always thought that she knew the person responsible. Thank you for being so committed to Jennifer’s case…I as well as thousands of others would love nothing better than to bring Jennifer back to the Kesse’s, I regret that I do not have the skills and education to help out..

    Thanks.

    Vivian

Another possibility he came from the seaaling ,in some apt building you can enter the apt under through an openning.
Iam trying to make sense of all off this maybe jennifer was hungry she came from atrip and didn’t go to the grocery store after work so after talkng to rob she went to buy food a to a restauant and someone abduct her,but most likely he would abduct her to his own van and leave her car alone. What make more sense the abductin happaned at the complex he put her in his truck andndrove away . The only reason for him to come back for her car is if he either lived there or worked there. If this is the case he came back at night to take jennifer car ,less risky than in the morning.

  47. shelly says:

Also he didn’t want to be late for work in the morning,he came on time, at noon he drove back or he rode a bicycle, he had locked somewhere in the complexnotahead of a tim. so he could leave his own car in the complex, went to his house and brought jennifer car back and walked back to the mosaic.
If he lived in the complex a different theory i can think off: when he saw the lights turn off in jennifer apt he knocked on jennifer door, he didn’t wait long time after she went to bed, not to waste time and have asmuch time as he can get at night before morning. He told jennifer I am a nighbour from unit this and this…an emergency happenned in the building whatever story he told jenniffer to lure her out outside and outside he abducted her to his truck , came backlater that to take her car outside the complex somewhere and he had to wait until the afternoon to dropp her car so he could make sure no evidence left behind.
Another theory the poi was not working and not living at the mosaic at all.
I know the dog lead the police back to the mosiac but maybe the dog followed jennifer scent, after all it was her car her scent is more dominent and strong than someone who is been in the car few hours. How can the police be sure the dog follows the suspect scent and not jennifer scent ?
The suspect chose HOG to drop her car because it is close to a bus stop and it’s a busy intersection he could had bicycle locked near by or just walke miles and dissapear.
the sspect wore a hat maybe also a wig covering his real hair or put his hair in a way he usually don’t do,a uniform over his clothes, shoes are big not his real size, gloves . he was very careful maybe it’s a woman. If the motive is jealousy it could be a woman and a man involved together.

  48. shelly says:

i want to add to the jealousy thing. The reason i said it might be a woman because women has a kind of jealousy of other women that men don’t have. jennifer was beutiful and successfull and someone was very envy at her and if it was a crime of jealousy a woman was most likely involved.
If it was a crime of passion a sex crime, a man committed this crime.
If it was a crime of a stalker ,a man committed this crime.
If it was a work-realated crime and someone at her work was jealous at her high position and successful career ,a man committed this crime but also a woman could.
If it was a crime of jealousy a woman committed this crime.

  49. Bill says:

    Hey Blink,

I have a tip I would like to submit, pertinent to the Jennifer Kesse case. It is possibly a long shot, but I think a threshold is met and I just kind of have a hunch.

But the Orlando PD doesn’t provide an e-mail address for tips, just a phone line. I prefer e-mail in general, and particularly given the subject matter here, e-mail gives me the opportunity to spell out exactly what I want to communicate. I already have a long e-mail typed out, ready to be pasted.

I guess it would also be nice to bounce things off of a non-cop with knowledge of case details. So I was wondering if I could use you as a go between?

    Thanks,
