Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes
I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010. Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past, I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another. This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases. I am proud of that. I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.
Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom, Terri Horman. Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey. Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child. There are dozens of sources, collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.
Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did. I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping. Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode. When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her, I most certainly respected that. I still do.
While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure, I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth. There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions. Not what I signed on for. A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience. He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.
I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil. I appreciate your patience and your understanding. Feel free to discuss the show below.

So who drove Neighbor’s espied white truck poised to dar off.
The most telling indication it was SZ was the driver’s choice of close proximity
to the Horman truck, as well as its isolation and seclusion.
It was unlikely to be Stenson as the attached trailer was absent.
I bet wherever Teri had parked, SZ’ vehicle designed to mislead
would be parked nearby. That suggests the intentional targeting of kyron.
As well as someone familiar with family vehicles or able to look it up.
One wonders how Kaine informed Terri she’d be driving the truck after 9 pm on 6/3?

supports your concern SZ intended to frame Kaine.
If SZ was not part of the Skyline school community
(who’d probably never seen Kaine at anything), I wonder
how a SZ motivated to frame kaine knew about the SF open house.

The elevation of the parking lot next to the outdoor covered play area is approx. 716 ft. MSL. The land that touches the lot North is one ft. higher at 717 Ft. MSL. There is a grassy area about fifteen feet wide that may belong to the school and that area slopes down at a gentle slope. It may be a part of the school property or it could belong to the cultivated land that it touches. A mower could cut that land with no problem. I don’t think anyone experienced in mowing would drive onto that grassy area with a truck and trailer to unload.
The same thing applies to the grassy area in the NW corner of the property where the slope down is much steeper and to the West between the school building and the soccer field. A tractor mower would be used to cut the slope or the mower could have an arm that could be elevated with the mower unit at the end. The same thing would be true of the slopes along the West side of the school property and the front of the property near NW Skyline drive.
IMO it would be very foolish to try that slope with a truck and trailer with a load
After looking at Quizzical’s photobucket picture, I see tractor/mower tracks leaving the North edge of the North parking lot headed West under the trees and then reappearing down the hill towards the soccer field. The elevation readings are different than mine by approx. 6 ft and may be more accurate than I am able get. Your photo is taken at a different time of the year than what appears in my Google Earth view.
I have not tried this myself for this inquiry- but have you tried working with Bing? I have found in the past in a case or 2 sometimes they have better or more recent footage in certain areas- OR it is shot in an alternative season. Years ago in the Harrington case I recall it was an effective resource.

It doesn’t take much of a slope to move water to another location. The well could have an inlet from the storm drain some distance below grade. The well would work just the same to allow the rain water to slowly penetrate into the soil.
I built a sewage line from a large maintenance facility building in South Texas in 1960 that had just 18″ of drop over 300 feet to the connection with the city system. It was built with 4″ clay pipe with bell and spigot joints. We dug the ditch below the needed elevation and then used sand to bring the elevation to the grade needed. Each joint was placed by using a survey level to control the slope. The contractor thought I was nuts to build it like that, but it worked fine.

The Q for TMH is whether she saw the access rd truck, parked distinctively, from her A Spot at her 8:45 departure that Neighbor saw at 8:31? It is unlikely it had been moved in that short time, and it was near and directly in front of her truck albeit off to the right.. If it were SZ, it would have been outstanding planning to lurk until she left, then move his truck to the spot she’d just vacated, so anyone woukd think it was her truck and she’d not yet left. It’s location would also reassure kyron as he approached it.
I have this information and will be in series- I will say Horman’s account of both her parking spot and Stenson’s were corroborated by multiple witnesses and I can say with certainty Stenson left AFTER Horman.

It would be in character and more like mcso and the Oregon FBI it seems to tell him they’d charge him with the abduction if he did not testify against her–and he’d believe it. Any thoughts on things going down in South Carolina. I followed Kayla Brown and Charles Carver’s off and on because when they first went missing we were having all those creepy clown sightings in S.C. Little did I know this creepy clown did not wear a mask. He was a pilot for god sakes and who knows where he has been.
I truly wish I had the time to cover this now- but I suspect as this weaves through due process we will learn more than I could investigate now. In short- this guy is an example as to how laws do not protect from juvenile offenders in training to be sexual sadist killers. This is a BAU case, imo, and the second off the top of my head this year.

Fabulous Fabio seems to be emblematic of the Oregon FBI Field Office and Fed OR DOJ employees wrt operations, sources and methods. Imo the same type problems seem to have existed in T’s case, ie the use of a questionable informant in a ludicrous sting. Threats to TH, alienation of child. To pin it all on a direct Frink threat is misleading imo. The campaign against T and lack of focus on SZ was very planned imo.
OOT It’s OK for field agents to be permeated with alt right views, as long as they are professionally trained and do not substitute their passions for facts and evidence. It seems in some areas of the country rudimentary legal training, ie the fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine, as applied to evidence acquisition and use is lacking. I suspect a lack of this rudimentary agent training existed in 2010 as fbi and mcso working together tried to construct a case against Teri.

Two of them were well trained and professional, the other two were ugly in behavior and how they conducted themselves at work. Those two ugly ones would use whatever tricks they could to make a case. If you enlarge and look at where they are talking about, there is a silver suv parked there, along the rock wall, similar to (or the same as) the one in the bushes on the right of the school driveway photo, where they are asking people if they parked on the left side of that photo to come forward.

What were they looking to find on June 3rd? What could have anything to do with Kyron’s disappearance on the 3rd? The only thing I can think of is someone casing the school, but we know they were focused on TMH, so why would they want that? What went “haywire” at the school on June 3rd? Who was the teacher that was being discussed by BG and DK on Facebook as leaving employment of Skyline? Were they fired or did they leave voluntarily? Were they at the school on the 4th? Who was it?
I think of all the stories I’ve read where disgruntled employees go back to the workplace with a gun or other weapon, and I just wonder if it’s possible that a disgruntled teacher took Kyron in order to make the school look horribly bad and get sued for negligence. (A suit that absolutely should have happened, IMO.)
This bugs me still. Why ask for video of nearby stores and homes for the 3rd of June? Why not the 2nd or 1st or whatever?

What if any after (or before) school programs did Kyron participate in? We know of Soccer, but what about Scouts? Art class?
Does that confirm Stenson didn’t see any trucks on that road? If so, and Stenson left 8:45 (after TH) and before 9:00, then, as Rose said someone lurked and moved into her spot or thereabouts. Would anyone think it a coincidence she drove the white truck? If not TH or KH, then who else would know about the white truck THAT DAY to preplan this? If there truly was another white truck, then this had to be a targeted abduction or one huge coincidence.

If there were a second white truck parked on the access road after TH left, then it would make sense that LE could convince her to agree to the release of the flyers. They would say that while people would think they were reporting or witnessing her truck, they could in fact be witnessing SZ’s white truck depending on the timeline TBD by LE.
TRuth, I think that was the first flyer with Kyron, TH and the truck. Then there was the “parking flyer” (the one I think you were interested in) that went out in August, and of course there was the TH & DDS flyer. Wow, that is a lot of flyers now that I think about it, and just one could have contaminated a witness account.

@Rose – IMO, alt right views include the view that there is no other valid view. I personally doubt (but hope to be wrong) that it is possible to hold those views and remain totally focused on facts and evidence because those views are considered facts. If your personal view is also your “fact” in a case, wouldn’t the pursuit of corroborating “evidence” be a passion that follows?

What’s interesting to me is that they do show a truck on the access road, but it’s parked facing the gate, not how neighbor described it as being facing toward Skyline Blvd., and as Quizzi has showed it in his/her work.
This also makes me wonder, if there were actually three white trucks parked in exactly those spaces, one of which was the Horman’s, as TMH has confirmed. But, it does not sound like they were looking for a white truck parked in the south lot, but some other vehicle. (Silver SUV, maybe, IDK.)

VanZandt said he did not see the law enforcement and the family in this case working as well with the media as they could have.
“There is the potential that they’ve lost the opportunity,” he said, “I hope they have had a good reason to do that.”
Despite the grim video from Monday of searches in the water around Sauvie Island, he said everyone still wants Kyron found alive.
“Everybody is hoping upon hope we see an Elizabeth Smart type of miracle from Salt Lake where we’re gonna see the victim, that someone if they have taken him, that they’re still holding on to him.”
That kind of outcome, he said, was one of the reasons that in other cases, law enforcement and family have worked more closely the media. The media was there stating “here we are, use us.”
“That didn’t happen here,” he said.
In several media briefings, question after question from reporters about the investigation was rebuffed. Release of information could taint the memories of tipsters, or allow fabrications to enter recollections was the argument put forth by investigators.
VanZandt invoked a scene from the 60s spy show “Get Smart” saying that investigators cannot try a “Maxwell Smart cone of silence” strategy to control the flow of information.
“That’s not reality,” he said, “The world is not like that.”

I know it’s all our lay opinions that there has been way too much silence from LE in this case and the ejection of the media as well, but here’s a seasoned former FBI profiler saying the same dang thing, very early on. I wonder how this report was viewed by those in charge of Kyron’s case? Was this perhaps why Staton never asked the FBI to step in, since now we know he was extremely uneasy about accepting the opinion’s of others who disagreed with his methods and ideas? And how about the family? Shouldn’t a report like this one have started them thinking about exactly how this case was being handled? That’s quite some criticism going on there, and look how early it was.
I think I have shared previously I am trained directly in FBI BAU protocol (in this instance) wrt to media usage in criminal investigation as it relates to a child abduction.
I recall that at some point, BAU was staying on board in Portland. The strategy associated with usage of media outlets is only as good as the intel presented to the FBI and since I know initially the FBI was assured TH was their suspect- just about the only thing I believe was their recommendation was the initial press conf at the church.

Rose we can only speculate about KH getting the information off of TH’s phone. Both the major cell phone operating systems have their roots in the UNIX system. If TH’s cell phone used was an Iphone with OSx or another brand running Android OS, both could be synced with some of the functions normally made a part of the Windows system.
Think about this: The current Intel chip designs with multiple cores are actually multiple central processing units along with cache memory (L1 & L2)(cache memory is very fast memory)joined together with a special control unit designed to manage the use of the various cores.
The control unit could also have management of the interrupt structure and the external ports for moving data into and out of the system If KH was working in the system architecture group for Intel, he would know all of the ways to move data from one device to another.
Was Terri’s phone protected by a password? Probably not.

I guess I am confused
Ok here is what I thought explained why LE changed the GK’s timeline so that he left the school after TH left with the truck. The 8:30 time would mean he left the school before TH left and would noticed TH’s/Kaines truck parked on the access road.
The LE corrected time line of the GK leaving the soccer field around 9:00 would mean that TH could have parked on the access road (done whatever LE thought she did) and was able to leave with the GK not noticing her on the Access road(because he was busy mowing).
So the truth is that LE was correct and TH could have parked on the access road without the GK noticing her and she was able to leave before he did.
I think LE has or had the theory that TH had to have parked on the access road and left before the GK because the access gate was locked before he got there and he relocked it when he left so TH could only have used the access road while the GK was there.

My husband and kids’ phones are in my name. I have access if I used it to see text phone nos to and from but I don’t think that includes content. As for emails, I dont think being a phone acct holder enables access to email content. When one syncs a phone to a computer, I think you can chose what to sync. I only sync music not emails or gaming for example.

with informant Rudy and providing info for Kaine’s RO in June-July 2010. Who was that divorced mcso in the Guisto transcript who had trouble with his ex and acted out but claimed to be a changed man? (oops, that’s Marshman’s line.) And any FBI/DOJ agents who’d send multiple intemperate opportunistic informers like Fabulous Fabio into Malheur to conduct gun training and martial arts training and not disclose them to defense when defense found one on their own.
That’s policing by “gut”, we’ve heard that police method before. An ends justifies the means policing. I call it absence of training and education (esp legal standards) policing. I am sure that was the policing method in the Horman abduction imo and still is. It afflicts prosecutors and investigators alike. Just look at this year’s scandal in Ellen’s OR DOJ office, sitting on her desk for 2 weeks, involving her chief of criminal division and chief investigator–an investigation dirrcted at her own chief of civil rights based on gut and ignorance. Just like kyron’s.

The political posture in 06/2010 is the dispatcher of ADA personnel, Rod, knew Shrunk would retire soon and
that the AG at the time of Shrunk’s retirement would be appointing the new DA with input from the Governor’s political advisor. (We later learn that advisor at the time of Shrunk’s retirement was the ADA that Rod dispatched to Skyline on June 8.) He would then run for office. An indictment of someone, anyone, on his watch would be a plus for his appointment and eventual election. How about Rosenblum (who eventually recommended him to the Gov) and Kitzhaber? Were they in office yet in 6/10? Havent looked it up.
Staton needed Rod’s endorsement in his runs for office, and support.
Could the one calling the investigator’s shots be Rod, not Dan nor Norm?

Agents from the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit based in Quantico, Virginia, came to Portland when Kyron first was reported missing, and two returned to spend several days with the Kyron Horman investigative team in late January and early this month.
The agents, more commonly known as the FBI’s profilers, assist law enforcement agencies in complex cases based on investigative experience, education, specialized training and research, according to the FBI website. They provide investigative suggestions, interview strategies, profiles of unknown offenders, and analysis of leads.

the overriding State and County political interest in summer 2010 seems to be to return Kitz to office that fall.
While that allowed other dominos to fall later–AG, DA apptmts and so on, what
industries was his reelection critical to? I suggest clean industries’ regulation and funding:
solar and wind cos. power cos like Bonneville. You know, the company with grant employees on the ground at Skyline, indoors and out. Wouldn’t want suspicion to taint a public school with a pioneering grant project being implemented in 2010.

I recently installed Google Earth Pro as it is now free. It seems to be a bit different. While it is likely still using satellite images they seem to be using newer capturing devices, processing methods and/or possibly different filters. This seems to be to provide better 3D images and may explain the prominence of the patina color on the grates. Google’s processing also makes images to appear somewhat “cartoonish”. Google updates images in many areas almost every year now.
I think Bing’s images are taken by over flying aircraft so are more realistic. Bing does not update their images nearly as often as Google, but are often quite useful in providing reliable details.
As to the different elevation readings. I have found I will get slightly different readings at different times and from different altitudes. The main thing in this case was the difference in elevation between the parking area and the soccer field, which should calculate to be pretty much the same no matter the slight difference in displayed individual elevations.
