Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

From that Reddit proposing Kaine rushing home with officers to flee with k precipitously
filing for RO/divorce, rather than my saying as before likely he was looking for divirce/custody opportunity and seized the day, rather than his thinking analytically and rationally and asking her hard questions, it comes to mind the only reasonable explanation for his behavior is that over time he knew he’d been so emotionally abusive, such a philanderer, and more (steroid or whatever induced rages–do you address that blink?) that it was reasonable to believe any emotional type wife would want him dead to the extent of murder. So for Kaine to believe and act precipitousky on O’Donnell’s story line suggests he’d been a very bad spouse indeed and he knew it.
    —-
It is reasonable to open the door, based on DEA being present at in the sting, that rudy or kaine or both had drug involvements beyond steroids. I bet if O’D's later K9 had gotten in the doir on a valid search, more than steroids were there to kaine’s knowledge, perhaps not Terri’s. Coke mood swings for example outdo steroids. Though if even Cogen was grassing and coking, idk why any judge in that County would cars.

One lesson Terri’s interviews with Dr Phil gave Blink, and it may be a deterrent to The Piece, is that all of the aftermath focused on Terri rather than the unknown male who abducted Kyron. That tack was primarily at the public direction of both bios, which was so counterproductive to Kyron’s finding that the mind boggles at their misplaced public zeal. So Blink has no reason to think anything but the same publication aftermath will happen with her work: persecution of Terri while altogether ignoring the point of the piece, restarting the investigation down a productive path.

Blink, are there inconsistencies between TMH’s statements made on Dr. Phil and what you are going to publish? If not, what “editing adjustments” might have resulted due to TMH’s appearances on Dr. Phil? Or are you referring to editing adjustments as a result of someone other than TMH who has appeared on Dr. Phil?

    There are not.
I was aware that some of her interview content would be information we covered and I may have had an opportunity to preform further diligence to “add” veracity. I am not going to be specific until I publish, but keep in mind, TH has/had no idea what info I had going into the interview process or ANY of my ancillary work “during” to corroborate or refute her. I think that is critically important to a successful interview.

ps. I will say there are going to be corrections to TH timeline as presented by Phil- specifically the amount of time (iirc) she was on the side of the road.

Blink, have Stenson’s post Skyline worksites on 6/4 been ascertained
by foia? (hopefully it was by mcso but they bumbled with his
presence so). Imo the public assumed he went school to school, but

proximate locations and terrains. Anyone mapped out the public parks
ownership within a 10 mi radius of Skyline?
His itinerary woukd’ve included some of those that day.
On other workdays, M-F, he might’ve bern assigned other geographic areas.
Wildwood golf would be a logical pairing with Skyline.
On the other hand, does PP&R work the County or only within city limits?
(all pps schools qualify as within city limits). Red Tail golf is said explicitly

Close to me recently there was an attempt at a child abduction (about 6 years old) by another child (said child looked to be about 10). When I hear of things like this I find myself wondering if it’s possible Kyron would be used in such a way. If not Kyron, then possibly another abducted child that has aged out of interest of their abductor. As we know from past news, it has happened before. So sad. Waiting quietly, but anxiously, for Blink’s next report and hoping something will happen soon to help find sweet Kyron.

  31. A Texas Grandfather says:

The sheriff in the Papini case during his public announcement stated something that may have bearing on a number of cases along the West coast. In reply to a question about Mrs. Papini being possibly picked up for trafficking, to be used as a drug mule or sold for prostitution. His answers was “Yes. very possible.” Then he went on to say that LE was well aware that the major route for trafficking began at Portland and terminated at the borders of the country.

We have no proof that this happened to Kyron, but the possibility exists. At the turn of the 20th century, Portland was considered the most dangerous city in the country in regards to personal safety. It probably has improved over time. It would be interesting to see a study of crimes against individuals across the span of a century.

  32. erose says:

If SZ were Stenson, wouldn’t he have been ID’d by now. If Stenson is involved we have to extrapolate that Kyron’s abduction was done by two people, not one. If Stenson had a helper, maybe, but wasn’t he wearing a uniform of sorts, ie. not dressed as a parent. Did Matthews let Kyron go thinking SZ was a “worker” type or a “parent” type?

Yes. I dont deny appropriate scrutiny early.

  37. T. Ruth says:

Frustratingly, I spend each day wondering how many more years it will take before someone on this case releases more information. Information that most likely could further the case. I think it’s ludicrous that the people in charge of these cold cases, which Kyron’s certainly is, seem to think it’s perfectly acceptable to hang on to information for 10, 20 even 30 years, and then when released, booooom, someone finally comes forward with the information that solves a case. The cold case team is then applauded. What ridiculous policy is that? What an insult to the families of the missing, or murder victims. Makes me angry that there is not some sort of uniform procedure requiring the release of information after such and such length of time. Sad that yet another Christmastime has to go by without any answers to Kyron’s disappearance, I blame that on LE. Approaching 7 years gone, and absolutely no attempt to disseminate information that would further the case, while at the same time allowing rumors which do not help the case to fly freely without correction or restraint. Shame on them.

on the contract–first solar, then turbine–and later actual subcontractors
4b employees of county agencies with business at skyline ie PP&R
    5) geographic residential neighbors in a certain radius of school and home
    6) ordinary contacts in kyron’s social system–swim, soccer, gym day care etc
    7) radiating out from james or kiara, child or family contacts
    8) all parents extracurricular contacts esp those who’d met kyron
    9) car traffic that day–plates id’d from street videos

the article where Kaine represented to Keefer he expected Kyron back for school is an argument he fully believed Terri stashed Kyron for the summer but wouldn’t let him miss school.

Ben Keefer: “Kyron was on our rolls as of June 4th, and he only missed seven days. So technically, he wasn’t withdrawn.

***Kaine and I have talked, and Kaine wanted him to be ready for school. He came about school supplies.***

“We have a class assignment ready for him, and hopefully he’ll be able to use it – that’s our hope.” School district officials say they’ve spoken to police, and are convinced that Skyline was a safe school before Horman’s disappearance, and is even safer, now.”

    http://www.opb.org/news/article/skyline-elementary-welcomes-students-new-security/

Why would Kaine believe Kyron would be returned when at that time he said Terri did it ? Vengence for James’ move is inadequate; best revenge would be divorce, taking $ and custody, and other scenarios woukd be easier than kidnapping-secreting. He knew she loved Kyron, so the most reasonable explanation for return would be summertime protection. What about summer differed? much time to be spent with the Youngs. So, one wonders had Terri articulated concern to Kaine about Kyron being at risk in Medford during summer visits? I thought she promoted his residing there.
