Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

my read is her interviews in her opinion do not contribute to advancing the investigation because Terri knows nothing about The Man At The Center. She knows about herself, that morning as to herself and K up until 8:45, her marriage, the bios’ dirt, but has nothing to contribute re the abduction, so to publish would be mere sensationalism, although that might serve K’s interests at a later date. I think both bios know and have known Terri can contribute zero re Man at The Center. My disgust is reserved for their failure to publicize and go after him like pit bulls. Maybe mcso has something on each of thrm they do not want made public.

I noticed that about 2 weeks ago(or less) SG was on a tear talking about TH using cucumbers and sour cream not only making filthy connections but using the lewdest language she could think of. The peanut gallery joined in and for at least 2 days all of the posts were sexually explicit descriptions using vile language.

I thought it was strange that after saying all of that disgusting stuff posters would then say stuff like good night sweet Kyron stay strong etc. as though when they wrote all of their gross comments they expected Kyron to be reading them. I believe that most of these people have major critical thinking mental deficits.

Lately there have been juvenile posts about TH wetting her pants sort of toilet humor peepee posts you would expect from a 4 year old(if a 4 year old could post). But those seem to have faded away also.

Who knows maybe the vile disgusting posting turned off some of SG’s faithful but I doubt that it bothered Kelley.

I don’t see how any person with any brains at all could believe that the BS on that FB site is contributing to finding Kyron. After almost 7 years you would think someone would change tactics unless SG is just having so much fun on her FB that the having a good time part has replaced the goal of finding a little boy.

  14. Excellent question (as usual) Rose-

It has been a few years since my diligence on the MacDonald case. I think it somewhat irresponsible of me to lay out my opinion “generally” out of context, but I will say I do not believe MacDonald got a fair trial. I think Michael Malones involvement alone should have merited a new trial and I do not like the lack of transparency ‘re the DOJ investigation ‘re past cases of that FBI forensic unit. I “understand” some of the secrecy ‘re those cases involving national security, but not those without that element. I think MacDonald was a less than stellar husband and he may have been involved in some drug activity that resulted in the massacre to his family, but I am not convinced of his guilt “beyond a reasonable doubt” based on my research and evaluations of his case. I never say never about penning on the horrific murders, but the best work I have seen on it is Errol Morris’s Into The Wilderness .

PPS has been internally administratively chaotic since 2010, thus unable to contribute to Finding Kyron because first LE must nail down in their own minds in actual fact, not an alt explanation, how he was “lost.” I believe local LE should cooperate with Federal LE, ie ICE, but that agency seems internally in chaos as well. http://fightthenewdrug.org/400-children-rescued-hundreds-of-adults-arrested-after-police-take-down-child-porn-empire/
Some may find the following post to be disturbing. Reader discretion advised.
Nearly 400 children have been rescued and 348 adults arrested following an “extraordinary” international child pornography investigation in Canada, according to a report by NBC News.
The three-year undercover project, named Project Spade, began back in 2010 when Toronto police officers first made contact with a man who had been sharing “very graphic images” of child sexual abuse.
What they eventually found was a full blown child porn production and distribution company in Toronto that was distributing their content online. The site was run by 42-year old Brian Way and sold and distributed images of child exploitation to people across the world.
The head of Toronto’s Sex Crimes Unit said they enlisted the help of the United States Postal Inspection Service since many of the videos were being exported to the U.S. and began a joint investigation. After a seven-month long investigation, officers executed search warrants across the city of Toronto including at the business of Brian Way.
It was there that investigators catalogued hundreds of thousands of images and videos of “horrific sexual acts against very young children, some of the worst they have ever viewed,” said the lead investigator at a recent press conference.
Police seized over 45 terabytes of data from the $4-million business that distributed child porn to over 50 counties including Australia, Spain, Mexico, Sweden and Greece. As a result of the investigation thus far, 50 people were arrested in Ontario, 58 in other parts of Canada, 76 in the United States, and 164 internationally.
What was most alarming was that many of the arrests were of people who worked with or closely interacted with children. Among those arrested were 40 school teachers, nine doctors and nurses, six law enforcement personnel, nine pastors and priests and three foster parents.
In one particularly horrific example of those arrested, police found over 350,000 images and over 9,000 videos of child sexual abuse in the home of a retired Canadian school teacher. Some of the images were of children known to the man and he was also charged with sexually abusing a child relative.
The inspector said an indispensable aspect to the success of the operation and the rescue of 386 children from child exploitation was the expansive cooperation between Toronto police and organizations worldwide.
“[This] confirms that when we work together regardless of the borders that divide us we can successfully take down those who not only prey on our most vulnerable but also profit from it.
    – Read the original article on NBC News here.
Child pornography has become more prevalent and larger than we would ever like to imagine. It is said to be a $3 billion dollar industry globally, generating massive amounts of money for people willing to exploit young children. While federal agencies work endlessly to fight this global issue and rescue the children affected, the people who actually get caught for the crime are just the tip of the iceberg.
Child pornography has been expanding virally on the web for years and the material is only getting worse. In 2008, Internet Watch Foundation found 1,536 individual child abuse domains. Every week there are over 20,000 images of child pornography posted on the web (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, 2003). Furthermore, U.S Customs Services estimates that illegal child pornography is offered by approximately 100,000 websites.
To report an incident involving the possession, distribution, receipt, or production of child pornography, file a report on the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC)’s website at http://www.cybertipline.com , or call 1-800-843-5678.

Thanks for the Report on the porn ring Harley

Toronto is almost directly across Lake Ontario from Buffalo and Niagra Falls. It is across the country from our West Coast. Evil can be found anywhere.

Your report makes me think that there could be a similar operation along the West coast terminating in Vancouver and extending South to the Mexican border.

The type of operation described is easily hidden. In the middle 1970′s, LE found a similar operation just four blocks from our house. This too involved photos of children that were shipped via postal services all over the country. This was before the development of personal computers and digital cameras. It probably is much worse today because of the improved technology.

This could very well be what happened to Kyron and why there has never been a recognized sighting of him since the day of his disappearance. Portland to Vancouver is about the same length drive as Buffalo to Toronto.

Your experience with foreign students is much more recent than mine and is apparently a good one. Grades and degrees do not translate into people who are quality workers in industry. Some will be excellent and others will not. My experience is except for the Chinese and Japanese, most of those from the East lack the ability to work outside a prescribed set of procedures.

The Koreans are taught great memory skills, but anything outside those memorized skills is beyond them. That is exactly what caused the crash of the 777 at San Francisco several years ago. The pilots were asked to set up an approach that was different than the memorized one. This flight crew included the company check ride pilots and all of them failed.

Only motivation I can think of for Deputy Wenzel to lure this undocumented male into ICE detention out of ALL the undocs living in Portland, is Wenzel had “fallen” for the alleged DV victim and Mr Undoc was a love rival. Since the undoc guy had not yet been charged much less tried, it is likely the DA’s case was too weak to go to trial. More tricky mcso “stings” of uncharged ppl. Deputy needs to go to the jail supply closet office rather than interact with the public.

Rose, did I miss something on the alleged love interest?
    B

  32. Rose says:

Dep Wenzel is a Corrections Deputy & Cty employee since 1995 per a
collective bargaining agreement list of employees.
One infers he got close to the DV complainant in
the course of his jail employment and was induced to
set up her undoc unwanted domestic partner for ICE. Apparently
Reese can offer him box 1 retirement or box 2 coverup.

  33. Rose says:

Between Terri’s 3 Counties and 3 males (RSE, Roommate 1 & 2 in CA, maybe add a 4th in KH),
and this Wenzel “sting”, employing an LE complaint or stinger seems a west coast or maybe US now universal way to rid oneself of an unwanted domestic cohabitant.

  34. Rose says:

    Noyou didn’t.

“Only motivation I can think of for Deputy Wenzel …” means I infer a sexual or love interest on jailor Wenzel’s part. imo the ONLY reason he’d sting this undoc male, and only this undoc male in 22 yrs of corrections employment with mcso, and out of likely hundreds of undoc males in the County. we shall see. but imo he had a personal motive. As RSE did imo.

Some people, including Mrs. ATG, think of their children as being some age forever. When our oldest was 17 she was carrying around photos in her wallet taken when he was 10 and the others were the same. I made her get some up-to-date photos so people she showed them to could recognize them if they saw them in person. She said she always thought of them as the age in the photos. I teased her about keeping her babies as babies forever.

Children change so much in a short amount of time. The oldest at 17 was over six feet tall and at age 10 he was five feet. He finally quit growing at age 23 at a height of 6′-41/2″.

Kyron would be 14 this year and depending on his genes, he could be as tall or taller than his father.

  38. Rose says:

my theory was all wet. it appears Corrections deputy Wenzel was working the mcso Probation counter at the Courthouse where pretrial release persons (such as this undoc) were Court-ordered to check in on pretrial release. Pretty smart of ICE to go to this key govt office altho they aren’t snagging the convicted. He’s probably just one of many Wenzel set up for ICE. http://www.opb.org/news/article/immigration-sanctuary-city-oregon-arrest-ice-multnomah/
