Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

The bought judgeships and other activities are caused by an oversupply of law school graduates that prevent new graduates from getting jobs that directly tie to their degrees. This means that they must find work in another area in order to live. By using political connections developed over time, some of these people are able to get help in finding work in the government and criminal justice systems. Some of these people are quality people with good moral values, but others are not.

It doesn’t matter what field one enters, there are always people who are very good and those who barely are able to do the work. “Square pegs in a round hole” to use an old saying for description. Some become fairly adept at being a political player that often helps them to advance in a field where they do not perform well.

Then we have people like Desiree Young who take a ride on the importance of their spouse in a particular area. Tony Young may be an investigator, but just how good he is cannot be determined by people like us because we cannot see the day-to-day activities. And, Tony may be in contact with the Multnomah authorities as a part of his work. IMO that and a couple of dollars will by one a cup of coffee at a coffee shop.

Business always need quality educated employees at every level. In order to attract them, they provide services (benefits) such as health and sometimes legal programs. Intel is a technology company that has to defend its intellectual property from those who would steal it all across the world. This means lawyers and other legal help either on staff or by retainer. Therefore, why not include some limited legal benefits to employees? After all, benefit packages are important tools in recruiting people. Such packages, including those required by law, may amount to 45 percent of compensation.

One can only speculate as to why KH would use the Intel legal services benefit. Was it to form a plan to begin the divorce or was it to put pressure on LE to help him hide his use of illegal steroids or for other reasons? Some day there may be information that could point to his motive.

Yes “they” are, and in 2011 Desiree herself says

And she uses the word “authorities.”
not the Sheriff nor the DA office.

of course if the DA tried Terri, defense
would put detective Tony under depo

just to impeach the latters’ credibility.

Makes one wonder if Reese asked Alexander “What’s this all about?”

frankly, reading Soldier site comments, one despairs for America.
How can Desiree/Kelly “read and approve”?
It’s not the retrograde grammar and spelling. It’s the concrete thinking,
the lack of knowledge about basic gov’t judicial processes,
    Tbe extraordinarily incorrect speculation
about judicial processes. If Desiree’s mentation
is like the majority of these Stacey posters
she reads and approves, no wonder her case
advocacy has had no impact on the hapless mcso.

  9. A Texas Grandfather says:

it takes two days or more for KH to contact the Intel legal department. He cannot pick up a telephone and make a call? Never worked with anyone in that department is strange. If he had the job title that I thought, then he should know several people.

    Rose

I am not surprised at the lack of knowledge of the people on the Soldier site. Schools do not teach civics or government anymore, they teach social studies. If one does not learn in school how to read or use the English language, then their only hope is to have someone in the family who can teach them. Otherwise, the knowledge is at the level of what you have experienced reading that site. Another old saying “The blind leading the blind” indicating little chance of gaining knowledge.

The general social level of these people is indicated by what they post.

So I wonder why KH had to announce by memo to “ALL” (the word he used to address the recipients) at Intel that he was getting in touch with legal. Not sure he would reference a divorce that way, maybe steroids if it was the culture, but I opt for other reasons. Would love your speculations on what that would be.

We did not know he was not at school until we went to get him off of the bus at 3:30 and he was nowhere to be found. The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school.

@Blink. What was the rationale for the failed “sting” gambit then?
If they did not believe that then it was a mere ruse to get her out of the house in support of Kaine’s RO, custody, and occupancy by means of a sham arrest based on some scintella of statement she might make to Rudy, charges later to be dropped after damage was done to her custody rights and the RO was in effect. That is, the ruse only rationale then was to support their ally, a grief stricken father. That makes sense wrt mcso and probably fbi Baltizan too.

IMO your children were lucky to live in a school district that allows good classes in Civics and government. After all, that area has always been involved in government from the beginning.

Your personal activities in the home would also influence how they respond to such opportunities.

My experience in the Texas schools and interaction with grandchildren in the California schools is what I was drawing on for my statement. California is worse than Texas. High school age children in California did not know the capitol of the state or the name of the Governor among other facts.

My recommendation of Dr. Skousen’s book was timely. That should give B Jr. an enhanced view of what happened during the writing and debating the content of the Constitution. The articles of Confederation and the Northwest Ordinance are only referenced in the book. However, they are available on-line.

Very and thank you again. One day I will get time to read it. You would have thought given all my sitting, lol…

I did not see the E-mail KH sent to “All” regarding the contact with Intel legal. I would assume “All” referenced those in the address section of the mail. Perhaps to those with whom he regularly interacted.

One other reason was to possibly tell “All” that he was going for legal help in trying to find Kyron or another was simply to announce that he was trying all avenues he could think of.

You infer in your comment that you have other thoughts about the reason.

In my TX HS of long ago, the govt teacher spent the year haranging these teenagers that we had to go back on the gold standard, and on his extramarital affair with the gifted Engl teacher, for which she got fired but not him alas. All my civics came from el ed and reading. The twitter journalists I now follow often rail: People don’t read; Go read a book.

  21. A Texas Grandfather says:

Dr. Skousen’s book is not one for a single reading. There is just too much to absorb and later to research. I often reread portions to clarify something and that often leads me to other sources.

When I was a young engineer, we relied on “Kents Engineering Handbook” and for Architectural and other building concepts a book by Ramsey and Sleeper. To me, Skousen’s book fulfills the knowledge about about government that those two referenced works provide for engineering and design.

    All,
If you have seen local Oregon news or been browsing the internet or FaceBook there is a good chance you have seen an article similar to the one that Becky forwarded (below).  While this note is difficult for me to write in this state of mind I felt it necessary for Kyron’s sake.

    Optional actions for you:
The Intel network is large and wide-reaching.  Many have asked me what they can do to help us and my answer is the following:
    1.       Forward Kyron’s information to as many people as you feel comfortable with; the more people that see this will increase our chances of finding him
    2.       Do not speak to any media if contacted; I am trying to contact Intel legal to give them the heads up and help with this situation

Physical description at the time of his disappearance (picture is show in Becky’s note and here):
He is 3 foot 8 and 50 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. He was wearing black cargo pants, white socks, worn black Sketcher tennis shoes with orange trim and dark-colored t-shirt with the “CSI” show logo

    Police Hot Line Number:
    (503) 261-2847

    Some rough background:
The article that Becky forwarded is pretty accurate with details.  He was dropped off at school about 8:45 and went missing sometime between then and 9 or 9:30am.  We did not know he was not at school until we went to get him off of the bus at 3:30 and he was nowhere to be found.  The bus driver immediately called the school which responded that his teacher had not seen him all day in class, at which point we notified police in partnership with the school.  It is still unknown whether he left school grounds on his own or was abducted.  Be assured that there are currently an amazing number of agencies and amount of person-power being applied to the search and investigation.

Thank you all for the thoughts and prayers for Kyron’s safe return.  I will update the group once status changes which will hopefully be soon.  At the time of this note Kyron has now been missing for ~48 hours; time is of the essence.

“So about that email. In that November 2015 message, Sordyl referred to Sascha Perrins, a top administrator, who was included on the email chain. She said he had “engaged in a cover-up of child abuse” by a teacher in 2013 referring to his investigation of multiple complaints filed by parents alleging that a teacher routinely yelled at children in class, belittled them and verbally abused them so profoundly that some of the kids had physical ailments or needed counseling. Parents, including Sordyl, criticized the investigation as shoddy, saying that Perrins did not talk with students or with adults who witnessed the alleged harassment.”

I didn’t read most of this but skipped right to this US Atty’s legal analysis and commitment to prosecute stalking under the Violence Against Women statute. Can be female on female too, & I think his reasoning highly applicable to Moulton if her attorney (not herself) presents to him. For example one stalker has written in detail on Facebook about stalking Terri in person while she is conductong business in more than two courthouses. and has often added violent language. Her in person activities have been associated in writing with commands by Admin to take pictures of Terri.

Speaking of reading, I was sitting in an eye doctor’s office while waiting for my husband’s procedures, literally stuck there for hours, and read an interesting article about Homer Cummings and the prosecution of Harold Isreal, it was a very interesting story and there was more to the two’s long term relationship in the article. But this stuck out with me:

Cummings told the court that “it is just as important for a state’s attorney to use the great powers of his office to protect the innocent as it is to convict the guilty”

    http://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/charming-story-homer-cummings-harold-israel-180961429/

Anywho, the case was a *rush to solve* for LE at the expense of an innocent man, and had it not been for Cummings he would have been undoubtedly convicted for a crime he did not commit. But, speaking of just is calling the shots, this part in the Wiki article on the case, also stuck out:

“Cummings’ decision to drop the case surprised and outraged Bridgeport police, and Cummings received criticism from the Democratic Party, where he was a national committeeman. However, despite being snubbed by Franklin D. Roosevelt, former Assistant Secretary of the Navy, he was chosen by Roosevelt as his first Attorney General.[6]”

    **********
Why would the “Democratic Party”, criticize his decision not to prosecute? And then this:

“The case was never solved.[4] In 1954, a Bridgeport resident admitted to witnessing the killing, said that he was threatened with death if he spoke about it, and said that Israel was not the killer.[6]”
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harold_Israel

What bugs me here, is the now known Catholic Priest pedophile ring situation that was ongoing for years; it makes me wonder if whomever killed this priest was a man of power who perhaps knew of something like that regarding this priest.

Anywho, just speculation on my part, and a way to pass some time.

Update: A plea hearing has been set for next week in Terri Horman’s gun theft case in Yuba County, California. It appears she cut a deal with prosecutors on the misdemeanor charge.

In August 2015, Horman’s roommate reported the 46-year old had stolen a handgun from a safe in his Marysville, California home. When contacted by police, officers say Horman had the stolen gun in her possession.

Prosecutors charged Moulton with grand theft firearm. Records show she failed to show up for arraignment and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On July 4, 2016, Moulton was booked and released from the Yuba County jail for failure to appear. She later pleaded not guilty to the theft charge.

Horman, who also goes by Terri Moulton, is the stepmother of a missing Portland boy. Kyron Horman was last seen on June 4, 2010 at Skyline School in Northwest Portland. He has never been found.

In CA this says a misdemeanor gun-related conviction can yield a year in jail, and a fine of $1,000. No wonder a plea deal, likely for a fine only. Guess she couldn’t use the defense Editor lists of “I’m not the owner,” bcz that would demonstrate her guilt.

  35. Rose says:

if she’s merely pleading to an unregistered gun in her

@TRuth. Very interesting. Maybe Underhill got the memo about not prosecuting an innocent person but missed the memo about protecting an innocent person. At least he does not aspire to the AG Office or the Bench as Ellen AG does and did. What a sorry record she’s had in office due to her inability to supervise her staff and investigators.

  38. T. Ruth says:

“During the investigation of the other potential persons of interest, the team realized that some evidence — namely phone records and computer log-on information from Skyline School the day Kyron went missing — were not kept by the school district as the sheriff’s office didn’t request the preservation of those records.

Staton and Gates said they did obtain other information from the school via a search warrant submitted to Superintendent Carole Smith, but could not comment on the school phone records or computer data being preserved. ”

    http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2011/06/kyron_horman_task_force_to_dis.html

Why did not one media outlet investigate this? Staton and Gates said they could not comment, but why didn’t at least one reporter ask Skyline or PPS whether or not the purging of said records was normal?

I’m afraid that Kyron will never be found and there will never be a break in this case until PPS is held accountable for this child’s disappearance. PPS, i.e., Portland PUBLIC School system, should have been held accountable and answered questions publicly. Instead they succeeded in sweeping a little lost child under the rug.

It is more than apparent now, as is indicated in the PPS drinking water lead cover-up scandal, that PPS commonly engaged in covering things up. FCOL, if they’d cover that up, doesn’t anyone think they would cover-up their responsibility in Kyron’s disappearance as well? Where are the investigative reporters? Who are they afraid of? I just have a feeling that PPS holds answers that could break-open this case.

With the gun control laws of California being so crazy, IMC the only way a legal transfer can take place is via registered gun dealer. One cannot loan a gun to another without a similar process.

Of course, all of them are superseded by the second amendment. How many are going to get their rights ignored by these laws? Hopefully, TM can get out with just the fine.

  40. erose says:

Not surprised at all. We have a a cluster of schools (elem, jr high and high school) that abutt each other by way of playing fields and some wooded area. Years ago there were sightings of a man in that area and complaints from kids that he was approaching them. This went on for a couple of weeks. Some of the el ed children whose parents were high school teachers were not allowed to play outside at recess. (Geez, ya think the other parents might have felt that way, too?) Word got around by way of the kids, so two weeks in the superintendent issued a letter (sent home on a 3 day weekend). People were
l i v i d. The school didn’t cause the problem, but could not have handled the problem more poorly. Same as the water. And the guy in the woods always makes me think of “the creeper” the kids saw at Skyline.

I think there is a shit-ton of facts surrounding that guy and his victims that were missed, but my guess is said barrels on that property probably did not raise any flags among its other surroundings. I do have to say I am respectful of this prosecutor going public out of concern for identifying other potential victims, etc, – “Bob Evans” cant be prosecuted (obvs) so this discovery and its public disclosure is admirable.

@TRuth. re “until PPS is held accountable for this child’s disappearance”
We know the press bar is low in Oregon, and the few capable like Redden were influenced it seems by prior cases to dote on Desiree. The $64,000 Q is why did neither bio hold PPS accountable. I don’t see how anyone can trust either of them due to that failure.

The PPS info sought by search warrant thing is interesting. What Judge signed it?
Coukdn’t the press have gotten a copy? Bet it was one or more personnel records, ie
hiring background checks. The press has published other background check info. Why no
interest in Skyline’s staff? I wonder if Sordyl’s nonvoting seat on the State
BOE gives her any investigatory powers wrt local districts?

    In today’s Oregonian:
“Now, some enterprising soul has purchased the domain name alternativefacts.com and is redirecting it to a page on the website for Psychology Today. The page contains the definition for the term “gaslighting.”
I am reminded of disappeared bogger Alternate Theories who first introducted me to this term.
iirc she used it about a bio’s behavior.

lol. I told Blinkette to figure out a way to work in a creative essay re “alternative facts” and their potential for us.

Soldier’s zeal is putting the Davidson gals in harms way again in my opinion. Asked their followers to write phone & email Yuba Cty DA and same (communicating ex parte) with Judge. To what end? She does not say. 2 choices: a) withdraw plea deal & go to trial, or b) renegotiate plea deal for stiffer outcome.

If either occurs, Terri’s new tort atty can show actual harm to her linked directly to letters (altho in a tort case as witnesses in receipt of letters DA and Judge must recuse in criminal case). How do the Davidsons come in?
the Money. $33,000 is a deep enough pocket whether or not spent, Admin & her site have been their chief fundraising source, Kelly wrote they read and approve her work, and they are friends. The findraising and joint stalking in prior years is the initial nexus. Then tort atty will file for emails between the 3.

@Blink. Do you think theupcoming Dr apptmt of which both school
personnel and kaine had noticeplayed a role in his abduction?

I simply could not say for certain. To think it relevant, one has to pretty much assume it acted as some sort of trigger or conduit in some way- and as it was only scheduled the afternoon before he went missing (for the 11th) it has never “looked like” it to me. That said, Ms. Porter was informed, so who knows what sort of protocols that puts into place, etc.

Hi everyone. Don’t post much, but read every day. Blink, didn’t you release a sketch of Morgan Harrington’s “suspected” (now proven) killer before the Police? I’m sorry if I’m remembering that incorrectly, but my point in bringing it up is…

when oh when can you release more information about Kyron because it doesn’t look like the parents or LE care to make any progress in finding him. I know your answer is that you will release it when you can. I just keep hoping for this case to turn around, but if it’s left up to LE or the parents, I don’t think it’s going to happen. I think it’s going to take some pressure from an outside party to get any action. So sad for Kyron.

Yes Tarheel, I did. I would also offer I held that info briefly until I learned from a source that VSP had no plans to release it. In retrospect, I would say that a great deal of my writings in Morgan’s case were ultimately tied to Jesse Matthew.

If I felt anything I have investigated or written in Kyron’s case recently would progress his investigation in any possible way I would publish it. In any case I have ever worked on personally, I have been sworn to that agenda and I believe in it entirely and without reservation. My professional commitments taking the bulk of my time notwithstanding, I would also be looking to profile cases with that end goal in mind. Those facts also allow me to maintain my objectivity- because I don’t care about being right or wrong, or where evidence leads as long as it ultimately leads to a recovery and/or prosecution. I continue to believe very strongly (especially based on recent events) there is an unidentified male at the center of Kyron’s disappearance that to my knowledge cannot be connected to any member of Kyron’s family. He is the key to locating Kyron. If MCSDA or MCSO sees fit to withhold that information from the public I cannot change that, but I have not given up trying.

the other partt getting a behavior form besides a teacher is the parent. A neuropsych would get one from each parent; a pefiatrician would be less accurate & imo any ol parent ie Terri woukd do. But Terri was detail-oriented overkill. And ai bet she was ensuring both Kaine & Desiree filled it out too. In her shoes I’ve have scanned to DDY on Thurs nite & collected on weekend. And given one to KH on Thurs. After all she had passed on to both stories of K not listening to teachers at school apparently. and color cards. She tried to involve those bios. So, if they read the form & pondered it, what did those Qs mean to them?
    ———-
I saw on BKH website, he does have his own personal devoted tip line just like Desiree.
What does that mean to msco?
Two parents tbey’ve never publically cleared are the prescreeners of all tips on Kyron because they are the two with an internet presence who consistently troll the public for tips.
