Satsuma, Fl– A source inside the investigation into the disappearance of Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings, 5, from Satsuma, FL, confirmed to blinkoncrime that Misty Croslin was on a weekend bender with a man who has been arrested previously on drug charges . She was MIA the three days prior to Haleigh’s disappearance the early morning hours of February 10, 2009.

Recently, Blink on Crime brought you the radio interview and background of William “Cobra” Staubs. The bounty hunter (minus the hat) and PI is being funded by an anonymous donor out of Miami and has spent a significant amount of time with both Ron and Misty. As I shared with you, my readers, I believed he was legit in this case.

Who was she with?

Gpagebookingboc

Greg Lewis Page, 28, resides on Magnolia Avenue in Palatka, FL. In a chilling coincidence, he was arrested on drug charges on Caylee Anthony’s first birthday.

He is light-skinned, of African American descent, and he is “White Boy Greg” referred to by Cobra in his interview:

“..I said Ronald, I have a very difficult question to ask you, about your now wife.  It appears one week before Haliegh came up missing, she was.  And Ronald told me to “stop right there, I know what you are going to ask me, yes was she f*cking a black guy? Yes, how do I feel about her f*cking a black guy? I know this, if I didn’t marry her, I would never, you hear me? What do you do to your enemies?”  I said (Cobra) “You keep them close.” Ronald says “Exactly, and if I didn’t marry her, I don’t know where in the hell my, where am I going to look for my son? (Cobra meant to say daughter).”

Misty and Greg On the Record

Late this afternoon, Blinkoncrime has learned that Greg Page has taken a polygraph regarding the weekend with Misty and the disappearance of Haleigh Cummings. He admitted he was with Misty and the usage of drugs.

Page was CLEARED through his polygraph of any involvement in Haleigh’s disappearance and PCSO does not consider him a suspect.

Misty Croslin Cummings also admitted to the weekend and drug use following confrontation by LE of this incident during a polygraph as well.

Misty Croslin’s account of that evening  has not been cleared by Law Enforcement nor has any representative spoken publicly about the results of her polygraph.

At what point does the State Attorney have an epiphany and start arresting and prosecuting all the men that are sleeping with little girls? If they do not arrest these men then will others think it is OK to have sex with seventeen year olds? Are 16 year olds fair game? What is the new cutoff age? What if GLP decides he wants to share drugs and condoms with a 13 year old? What if he wants to share them with the 17 year old daughter of an Assistant State Attorney?
    Selective enforcement is not justice.

Red I could not agree with you more.

  3. Kleat says:

Page is 28 years old? Misty is 17 years old around the weekend that Haleigh went missing? So there would not be a time these two could legally sleep together without some question of stat rape? For Page and Misty to be a couple before Page turned 24, Misty would be 13 years old– both under 24, but that doesn’t make sleeping with a 13 year old any more legitimate now that Page is over 24 years old?

That argument was made with Ronald Cummings, under 24 at the time he was going out with Misty, at 17 years but too much of a stretch for it to ever have been legal in Florida, for Page, am I right? Page might also be charged with supplying drugs to a minor, maybe even that weekend if he was the one to supply the high??

Sounds like the possibility of MIsty going from one abusive situation to another.

  4. MAM says:

LE does not tell anyone if they passed their Poly. You should know better. No wonder you were kicked off Websleuths.

“MAM” If you review the facts of this case, you will note both Ron and Misty CLAIM they were told they passed, on several occasions, by LE. Therefore you are incorrect. Furthermore, I never disclosed were I had this information confirmed, but you bet your bippy it would not never see the light of blinkoncrime.com it had not been.

Kicked off of WS? Lol. that is a joke, right? You might be thinking of Windchime or the scores of others that asked for their accounts to be removed, or maybe the lady that stuck her neck out for already copyrighted videos on National TV, er, not sure, not ringin’ a bell.. sorry

And where did this ‘weekend’ with White Boy Greg happen? Did WBG know about Haleigh? Could he have been the one to spread the word to some unsavory characters out there, or could Haleigh been a pawn in some drug dealings? How much could Haleigh love Misty in the few months with this sort of behaviour going on around her, and moreover, how could MIsty love and care for Haleigh when she was acting like this. There have been publicized instances of caregivers, relatives, giving drugs to babies and young children in the home. Maybe someone shared something with Haleigh and things went bad. I wonder if they have drug tested young Junior Ronald or done a hair follicle drug test?

The Florida police department needs to hire Blink to solve these missing tots cases. :-)

  7. Shocked says:

Where are you getting your news? I checked out your supposed news affilitate and it is nothing more than a user news network. Did you personally interview these people? You should be very careful when posting up “news” it can cause you serious legal problems in the future. I haven’t seen this news anywhere except where you are planting it online. Glad you have the “inside scoop”, so maybe you know the whereabouts of little Haleigh??
“A source”? Who is willing to risk their job to give your little wordpress website a tip? NO ONE.
Please be more careful in the future and quit posting unverified tabloid garbage on valid websites including mine.

Shocked- I presented factual and verified information without revealing a source. If you dont get out much, that is called “news”. Since it is true, I am not concerned about any legalities as you put it, but thanks for your concern. As far as “planting” I have no idea what your talking about, if someone carried this article to your site, they must have thought it was “true” as well; good for them.

Lastly, keep up the good work, I am an avid anti-smoker, lost 4 grandparents to side effects of it and my Mom is battling secondary metastisis lung cancer at a young age after quitting 25 years ago. Hey everyone- check out http://www.truth.com and put the butts down!! BLINK

There is nothing on this wesite that LE does not already know. No one here has solved this missing tot case.

I agree. I have stated that I would never “out” something LE did not have. This is about Haleigh. Not a scoop.

The more I read about these people, the more I understand. My daughter’s ex-boyfriend,[an ex for good reason], is very much involved with the drug world. And believe you me, it’s a world that has its own rules. It’s COMMON for girls to run off with a drug supplyer and then return home-all is forgiven in the name of drugs. You can bet your butt Ron Cummings is probably a user or he wouldn’t have taken her back. His 911 rants about killing and not being scared of jail-also common. They’re all a bunch of big-talking, tough- wannabes. I am very suspicious of these 2 and can’t for the life of me figure out how he still has custody of the little boy. Talk about an UNSTABLE home.

I have to give the folks at Blinkoncrime lots of credit with their insight and investigative skills.Whats wrong with law enforcement in florida anyway?Whats the holdup? In kentucky, they would arrest everyone on obstruction of justice or concealing a crime or j-walking and let them sweat out the truth if they didn’t past the smell test, believe me a few weeks in jail and memories start working again. The florida law enforcement acts as though their waiting for manna from heaven or the perfect evidence, however if this little girl is alive ,she is in grave danger and doesn’t have the luxury of a slam damn legal case to be built.Tom t.Hall made a song”"if hang them all, you’ll get the guilty”

  11. Greg says:

I must disagree Annals, blink is so far ahead of the curve. Misty is the Key to this nightmare. The care taker was responsible for Haleigh. Blink has reported exclusive facts while Nancy DisGrace too busy blaming the biological mom.

Did the police do a drug test on Ron and Misty? A piece of Misty’s long hair could tell us what mind bending drugs she has been taking. Meth? E? H? Crack? Pot?

I remember a Dragnet episode were the pot heads left the baby in the bathtub. Probably what happened in this case.

  12. MAM says:

All those drug charges in 06 were nolle pros, check the Putnam County Court house for his full rap sheet. He served no time for that HUGE drug arrest. Yet, in 2008, he gets 6 months in the County for some pot.

Mam- that is a misrepresentation of his rap sheet. It would be great if you could post contructive, dialog progressing comments in support or dissenting instead of mostly robo posting comments I would never subject my esteemed readers to. This not “that” kinda site. TIA- Blink

  13. Neilson says:

I agree with Greg. Now what in the hay is CPS waiting for? Why hasnt a judge ordered an emergency hearing and taken the other child to give his real mamma temporary custody? TY Blink for sharing this with readers…without this type of info, half of America would still be patting Miss Misty on the back for being such a lovely young responsible second mother. Makes me want to hurl. Neilson

What an the hell is wrong with the STATE of Flordia? Seems to me they have NO PROBLEM with grown men screwing around with young girls……Thats shocking to me in itself……Im sorry but I can not get my head around Ron marrying this punk for the sole purpose of keeping her close? Are you kidding me? She is out screwing around with some guy days before Haleigh goes missing? And daddy dearest sits and what thinks its ok? This whole thing is pretty damn insane to me…..This punk kid who seems to enjoy being tossed around my men like a pair of shoes seems to be enjoying this. She is the key to this whole mess. Enough of the so called baby mama and baby daddy fighting over he said she said. ITS DISGUSTING….Baby mamas lawyer is insane with her charges anyway..Look at baby mama herself. Nothing but a punk kid when she had these babies. I have said all along that this RON (baby daddy) is nothing but a pedofile wantabe. The State has done nothing to question himm about his liking really young girls. To be honest, I would have kicked his ass out my door if he came home with my daughter. I happened to have raised my daughter better then that. I have NEVER seen such dysfunction in familes as what is going on down there. Seems like it ok for older men (BOYS) to screw around with young girls as long as the parents think its ok….ITS SICK……Misty knows darn well what happened to this beautiful little girl. These people all need to hauled into the police station and questioned til the cows comehome…it is truly amazing that you need to take a test to drive but……but people like this can have kids with no questions…all because they have a womb…Please……Take the kid away from baby daddy Ron and Baby mama
Crystal. They are BOTH UNFIT and so are their prents. Bunch of toothless white trailer trash…Sorry but it seems that is all they are. Allowing a girl lay around like a dog screwing different GROWN MEN Mind you ….and doing drugs…..JUST SICK…..Saddest reality is these two kids never stood a chance with baby mama or baby daddy….How sad. They need to question the dummy misty again and again and again…….She knows……

I am wondering about the panels removed from the area holding the water heater and the bathtub. Teresa Neves said she wasn’t sure why they took the part of wall panel with them and she stated they removed the one from tub to see if Haleigh was in there. NOW… I wonder did LE possibly notice that those panels were moved before they arrived and inspected further? I wonder if that is where Ron and Misty hid drugs and removed them before LE arrived. This may explain why there was a 30 minute gap between the time Ron got home and the 911 call was made.

  16. My Opinion says:

I think your on to something Tan. Again I have to say WHERE IS THE GUARDIAN AD-LITEM?! Why isn’t the court stepping into protect this little boy from these mental defectives?

  17. dddeerma says:

It bothers me that LE in this case seemed to brag that they wouldn’t make the mistakes that OCSO did re: Casey Anthony. However, as soon as it was determined that Caylee had been in the custody of Casey and that Casey had lied to LE, OCSO had Casey in custody under a $500000 bond. Maybe something of that sort would loosen Misty’s tongue a little bit. She does not seem sophicated enough to hold up for several days under truly intense interrogation. If she is addicted to any drugs, several days of abstinence would also be hard to withstand.

  18. new says:

Drug dealers use young girls as mules to carry drugs. If I am not mistaken. If Misty where caught with Gregs drugs her charges would be less and when she reached her 18 birthday they would be off her record. This I believe is the reason Misty was being used. The dealers get the young person hooked and supply them with drugs for free so they carry or mule their supply to sell. If they are selling and their mule gets caught holding the drugs the dealers are free and clear, and the mule goes to jail on a lesser charge than an adult. Misty is a mule and very street smart for her age. Bet she has been into this activity for a long time. Maybe Ron doesn’t care about sex with Greg cause dealers share mules.

  19. new says:

The drug culture has it own rules and consquences. Think of the gangs and the age groups involved. Misty might know and believe that her life would be over if she rats on the dealers. I could never understand why bio mom kept saying she felt Misty was not involved that the children loved her. The family protects their drug dealing children just like Cindy is protecting Casey. I have seen mothers lie in court about their child not being involved in drugs even after they have tested positive. I think we can assume that Halley is dead.

  20. DianeB says:

    Two things:

    1. Did a three-day “bender” actually represent “payment” for drugs?

    2. If she was up for 3 days immediately prior to Haleigh’s disappearance, isn’t it at least somewhat likely that Misty would have been crashing and passed out on the night Haleigh was taken?

  21. new says:

Maybe the police are not moving on the obivious inconsistencies statutory rape etc. because they are going after a bigger fish in the drug pond.

  22. Tracy says:

How did this information come about? Why hasn’t it been mentioned on any news reports? You would think that if this was true, someone would have come forward by now to rat her out. Has it been discussed on Nancy Grace yet? Not that she is the expert on this, but she does seem to keep pretty up to date on new information. Just curious, I would rather discuss facts than speculate and judge, that’s why I ask.

Tracy, I most certainly will not reveal a source of confirmation. Respectfully, anyone in the news biz would never ask that question. Anyone is free to dismiss or use the information as fact as they choose. What possible incentive would I have to put this out there as unverified? Blink

  23. Tracy says:

I didn’t ask you to reveal anything. I just asked why this hasn’t been disclosed anywhere else, on any other sites or TV shows. It was just a question from someone not in the news biz. I never speculated what your incentive might be, I really don’t care. I was just curious how something this important is not being discussed elsewhere. I have read blog after blog after blog and I just can’t believe how defensive people (especially the host) get the minute you ask a question that goes against their personal views. I am just browsing for the facts.

You asked me how I got the information. I am not defensive whatsoever, I think people should check their own facts and applaud it. I have seen it discussed elsewhere though. It has been my experience that MSM is about 2-3 days behind in breaking raw info for a variety of reasons. B

i would like to know one thing, i read on a site that Ron got home and was suprised to find Misty awake, and on another site it said that Mysty called Ron and he rushed home, wich one it true

  28. Tracy says:

I am sure you are referrering to me when you say that I am probably related to the family or a friend of these morons and I can assure you that I have never met them. I had never heard of them until this unfortunate event. I am not discrediting the information that has been posted. I am not accusing anyone of posting information that is not factual. I am simply asking why it isn’t being mentioned anywhere else. I didn’t ask for names or telephone numbers, I specifically asked how this information came about…ie, are you in law enforcement, do you know the family personally, is someone in your family related to Greg Lewis Page, did you see Misty on her drug binge….a simple question looking for a simple answer. And yes, facts are facts and there is usually proof to back up those facts and that’s what I was looking for. I hate to judge and speculate and it bothers me when others do as well. Innocent people can be hurt. I meant no harm in my question, it was just a question.

Tracy- Im a writer. I am not going to tell you or anyone else how information comes my way in an open case. I can tell you this is being discussed all over the place. I was not offended, and I dont allow anyone to be bullied for a differing opinion on my site as long as it is respectful, which your was. ’nuff said

  29. Annals says:

    Muffin; Going by video interviews which I have heard/seen;

Early on I seem to remember Ron commenting that he was surprised to find Misty awake when he got home; but it is a memory and I am not digging to find that interview (if it exists).

Both Ron & Misty are recently saying that Misty called Ron and he received that call just as he was pulling into the driveway.

  30. Annals says:

continued to Muffin; I am telling what they said; as to what is true, I do not know.

  31. new says:

DianeB How do we know if it was just a binder? She could have been selling and Misty got her stash when she left for home. Hid it behind the panels. Actually didn’t Cummings have to go find her. Or she had the money from the sell and Halley was taken by the dealer when she held out some cash. Usually the dealer will just beat up the mule for the money. To the druggie the Drug means everything. Their only loyality is to the dealer. Who furnishes the supply. In the interviews when this all began she certianly look high to me. So did Cyrstal and Ron. We don’t know anything about Misty past. We do know Ron has been involved in drugs and he has been with underage girls or mules most of his adult life. We know that Crystal was involved in drugs stayed with Ron when she was 14. Perhaps she still is using example, when she refused to give DNA. Perhaps thinking they could tell if she was using throught his test. I am curious why Ron will not move back into his home. Does he think the police have bugged the place? This reenactment of Cobra would have been heard? There is alot of money in the drug world and they don’t call the police when something goes wrong. They get revenge.

  32. Pep says:

Tracy, just a week or so ago, NG found out about all the Caylee videos from Casey’s Myspace that have been on YouTube for many months now. A member of Websleuths found them and another member captured them all early on in the case. I couldn’t believe after all these months that anybody was in the dark about these videos, especially NG who I thought was quite informed about the case.

Pep, I would not say WS found them, they were on yourtube. Moreover, they had actually been copyrighted and this poor momtective ended up having to pull her blog and WS pulled every thread on them and then TG villafied NG on her front page. Those studying the case watched in horror. That should not have happened to that well intentioned woman who was prompted to send them out, fyi.

There’s some great sleuths online who probably know these cases better than the attorneys involved in them. Their investigative skills are amazing! No doubt in my mind that LE reads these crime sites
    They do and your right!

Blink, I think you’ll be vindicated regarding the fingerprints on the duct tape. I feel the prints were withheld from the doc dumps so the Def wouldn’t accuse Pros of leaking it. It was very noticeable they didn’t rule KC out. Pep- no vindication necessary, I stated my thoughts, Im comfortable with anything I put out there.

New, Crystal did not refuse to give DNA. Headline News had it all wrong. While they were reporting that Crystal had run off to avoid giving her DNA, Crystal was being interviewed live by First Coast News telling them that she had already given the DNA sample when it was asked of her.

IMO Headline owes Crystal an apology for getting it wrong. And if she really had run, don’t you think she would have been apprehended and/or arrested? That never happened.

Something I heard from an insider today- that Misty had been calling Ron all night on February 9 while he was at work. Ron didn’t take any of her calls because he was made at her for the three day binge.

See if you can authenticate that, Blinky. I’m wondering if Ron had taken one of those calls if things would be different today.

i have always maintained that a 17 year old girl is generally not interested in staying home, alone, every nite, babysitting two children who are not hers. i believe misty was running around on ronald, which has been commented and reported on other websites, and she was out with someone the nite haleigh disappeared. there have been rumors that she was having an affair with ronald’s uncle, that misty is an alcoholic and that she ran off with this uncle for a three day drunken binge prior to the disappearance of haleigh. supposedly, that was the reason for ronald’s fight with misty’s cousin, joe, and the resulting gun issue. i think this family is very dysfunctional and is rife with substance abusers. thank you blink for such good work! jane valdez mitchell just mentioned the “greg” matter as a new discovery. you read it here, first, folks.

  42. Ola says:

I’ve only found this site tonight, and only because I was wondering if Haleigh had been found since she seemed to fall off the regular news and Nancy Grace’s radar. I am neither defending nor condemning the Cummings’ (ET all) family, but seeing that there seem to be some intelligent people here that may find benefit in understanding some of the “goings on” behind this case thought I would throw in a little information that no one is talking about and is causing some confusion.

A few years back I moved from Phoenix to a VERY small town in the Deep South. I think that being Americans, we tend to think that America is America. It isn’t. In some places it is like going to a different country. The Deep South, and especially little towns, like the one these people obviously live in have a completely different set of cultural standards and ideals. My first tip off that this is a podunk town? It wasn’t the trailers; it was that Ronald thought that the dispatcher was the officer that would be coming out to the house. In these towns the town sheriff’s office is closed from about 9 pm to around 8 am. If you call between those hours (which is unusual) you get the county dispatch, instead of talking directly to the sheriff or deputy that would be coming out, like you would during the day. I can say, from experience, that in small town southern culture, it is not uncommon for men (and sometimes women if there is no man around) to make calls to the police just like they did. There is a lot of screaming, yelling, swearing and threats made to the offender and/or the officer. Honestly, IMO, it actually sounded like a genuine reaction from a distressed, good ol’ boy, Southern father.

As far as drug usage: I, like I believe a lot of other people, thought that being in a tiny town, far away from a large city, would make drugs less accessible. I was quickly told by one of the locals that the only thing for the kids to do around there was “Get drunk, get high and screw…” As long as no one gets hurt, and it isn’t done directly in front of the parents/neighbors/police it is accepted that it is going to happen and that as long as you can turn a blind eye to it, it isn’t a problem. No “mules” are needed, that’s city stuff. These girls are only traded between family members, not usually friends and NEVER willingly with another race.

Which brings me to Misty herself: Misty is not an unusual backwater, southern girl. For her to be living under the thumb of an older man is very normal for this culture. The girls out in those areas are usually “scouted” (my word, not theirs) around 12 – 13 years old and spoken for, in some way, by the time they are about 14 or 15 years old. For it to be by an older man, especially one that has already had experience with a woman, it is very typical. The good ol’ boy consensus is that the younger you get them, the easier they are to train and control. (Think puppies.) The women’s take on this, is pretty much: It was good enough for Mama, and good enough for Granny and Granny’s Granny so it’s good enough for me and my girl children. The chances of Misty running off and coming back, no matter what anyone says, are just about nil. It just doesn’t happen that way back there. The girls/women are closely watched and kept on a short leash so if she did leave or have someone over I can pretty much guarantee that the neighbors/friends/relatives (on both sides) would have informed Ronald immediately so that he could “take care of his problem” – which would mean that Misty would have been in a lot worse shape than she appeared to be when the police got there. If their relationship is “normal” she would be calling him constantly at work right up until bedtime to check in and let him know where she was and what she was doing. (ie: Any time that she may not be able to grab the phone if he were to call – Taking out the trash, getting in the shower, running to the store, taking the kids outside to play, etc.) It is accepted and expected to the point that most companies will give men time to run home and “take care of their problem” if their woman doesn’t answer a second call or if he hasn’t heard from her at set times. SERIOUSLY! My husband’s supervisor actually questioned him about why I wasn’t calling to check in, told him that he needed to get me on a shorter leash and set him up with one of the company radios for ME to carry around! A neighbor’s husband was given time off to come home and “take care of his problem” when she forgot to call before she went out to mow the lawn. This is the rule in these areas, not the exception; and the police don’t respond to these domestic violence calls because they consider it disipline, not wife beating.

The idea of not being Ronald’s property is as foreign to Misty as all of this probably is to most of the people who will read it. She knows nothing else and if it is up to Ronald and his contemporaries, she never will.

There is also a very simple reason that Ronald and Misty got married when they did. CONTROL. There is nothing that will put a ring on a girl’s finger faster in the boonies than her man not being able to have complete control of her. Marrying her makes him her next of kin (and guardian) so he’s in charge of everything that goes on with her, like her parents or a child advocate would be anywhere else in the United States. The exact timing is easy: It eliminated the chaperone and the possibility of 2 hotel rooms while they were in New York, which of course were insisted on by the network and out of the question to both Ronald and Misty.

Hope this helps to clear up some of the oddities that are simply the way of life in their world.

Sorry for the length of this post, but I just couldn’t cut it down any more and get the point across – and, really, this is still just the tip of the ice burg as far as differences go and how they are effecting the way things appear and are being reported.

And in case anyone is wondering: After my husband and I got over the initial shock of it all and were turned down flatly when we tried to help a couple of young women out, we found that Deep Southern culture will not be changing for anyone. They are happy to live like they have lived for generations and hope to continue until the end of time. We lived with it for about 4 years then moved our family to Colorado – before our daughter started school.

This whole family maybe needs to be locked up for awhile. Detox in jail is said to be enlightening. Over at another pop blog we had Cummings family threats too. Drug abusers are into violence. They need to get off their collective bottoms and cooperate, unless of course they are guilty. What matters here is that child not all these whining hillbillies.

  44. Ola says:

Hey, I just listened to a couple of the interviews and need to make a couple of adjustments to my observations of what I said about Southern culture. My apologies for not listening to them before I posted a bit ago.

First of all, I was under the impression that Ron and Misty had been together for quite some time since Haleigh was supposed to have considered Misty her second mom. Seeing as how this isn’t the case and they have only known each other about 6 months a few of my observations are going to have to change.

I just listened to the interview with the bounty hunter and heard what Ronald purportedly said to him about thinking Misty was out of the house when Haleigh went missing. This was my first thought, until I heard that she was only 17 and living with a much older man. I don’t want to fan any flames but seeing that he hasn’t been “training” her for the past couple of years, she isn’t the “typical” girl I was talking about in my last post. So now, again, having seen some of the peculiarities of the region, I wonder if the police or any one else that has been looking into the case has noticed or heard any reports of broken glass, thumbtacks or any other sharp objects on the floor of the bedroom? I’ve never heard of anyone this young or that was currently with a man doing it, but it’s not an unheard of practice for mothers to put sharp objects – I saw glass shards, tacks, push pins, and thick thorny branches (like you find on some rose bushes) and such around the bed so that the kids wouldn’t get out of bed and run around while they are gone. It’s no problem if someone is wearing shoes, but the barefooted kids are too scared to get out of bed if they see it being laid out or even once ever try to get up in the night.

Clean up could be fairly quick if she used something like the tacks and push pins – and may explain why she didn’t call the police immediately and some of the other things that she doesn’t want to talk about – like what she was doing. The branches only take a pair of gloves and few seconds to pitch them outside. The glass shards it would take running the vacuum, especially if an intruder had stepped on it, and I would think that the police would have questioned broken glass. But it’s also easy to explain by saying that someone dropped a glass or knocked a picture off the wall. So that leaves tacks and push pins.

It’s actually pretty subtle if you don’t now what you’re seeing. The first couple of times I saw it, it didn’t click at all that there was a real problem – just housekeeping that needed to be caught up on in the kid‘s room. The mother told me that her son must have broken a picture that she had on the wall above his bed and when I found the pushpins she simply told me that she had already scolded him for taking them off his board and playing with them. The only way that it finally registered was a few months later when I went back into the house (she had suddenly moved to Canada and I came in to clean the place out) and I found the exact same glass shards I had picked up and handed her to throw away and then the push pins around the bed again too – but found no board to put them on. I mentioned how odd I thought it was and one of the other Southern single mothers that knew her, and the area, better than I did clued me in that it was some people’s idea of a safety precaution/babysitter, especially when they didn’t want anyone to know that they were slipping out.

God, I hope it’s all wrong and she’s just a dumb little country girl caught in the middle of a disaster. But at the same time, listening to the father talk in his interview on the Today show made me uneasy also. Also the story that little Jr was telling about the man in black coming in – could that be a 2 year old’s description of a black man? It all makes me sick to think about it.

  45. Tracy says:

This all sounds so far fetched to me. I guess I am just naive, but how did this go from a little girl from a small town being kidnapped to the girlfriend/babysitter being a drug mule, leaving shards of glass around the little girls bed so that she could go on a three day drug binge with her boyfriends alcoholic, child molesting uncle in her stolen van while the abusive, ex-con baby daddy was at work to support his drug habits and the five other children that he has with 5 different 12 year olds, including one that still lives with him but is being sued for custody of by one of the baby momma’s who has now had another baby with her step brother. I can’t keep it straight anymore.

  46. dddeerma says:

Wasn’t there a report that Ron Cummings had missed several days of work just prior to Feb 10? That would make sense if his babydoll girlfriend was out on the streets for those days. You can’t leave little children alone for very long, even if you have tossed blackberry canes around their beds. (do people really do that??)

  47. new says:

Just like the Anthony case what happen on the noc of the 15th and before is very important. I do believe that what happen the days before Halley went missing is more relevant than the explanation Misty gives of what she says happen that evening. We don’t hear much about that, hopefully the Police know more than they are saying. Why was the blanket in the Van? How long had it been there? Misty’s story is all about washing blankets proving that the back door was locked. Can’t open the door without a key unless your already inside or you have a key. Misty’s story does not make sense. The drug mule is a reason why older dealers have very young girls or boys near to them. If the mule is caught with over an ounce of cocaine the penality is higher. We do know there is drug association. We do know the bio mom used drugs and verbally protected Misty. Why? Doesn’t make sense to me. What you heard from her from the beginning is Ron is bad but Misty is good. Ron is protecting Misty. Why? I would have thrown her under the bus at the very begining. Now the whole family is doing rehearsed character polishing because of the Custody issue. Misty’s past is relevant if she really left home when she was 14 how has she supported herself until she met Ron 6 months ago. Who did she live with? Did she live on the street? Misty’s parents should also be looked at. Has she been on the street for 2 1/2 years. If someone raped her where charges filed? I really think that she is street smart. Druggies protect their own.

I don’t know where this Ola came from or where she moved to in the so-called Deep South, but most of her post is B*%#S*^%! I was RAISED
in the Deep South about 100 miles from the Florida line and most of her comments is total exaggeration. Sure there are people that are less fortunate, high school drop outs and make the wrong choices on how they wish to live. But, this “man staking out a young girl and owning a woman”??? Give me a break! She is going back to poor white trash in slavery times. And, this crap about tacks and thorns around the children’s bed to keep them home. That’s obsurd. I’m almost 60 and know NOTHING about what she is saying. My mother and father grew up very poor and I’ve never heard any stories like that.
I’m from very small towns and you have two types of people. You have the sophisticated people and the unsophisticated people. The Cummings and family would fall into the people with “no class” which is their choice and the way they wish to live their lives. There you have the drugs, high school drop outs, girls having babies at 15 and living with a man unmarried. Their parents know that it’s not right, but they allow it anyway. I know because I have some kinfolks like that. Law enforcement in my town does not put up with the drugs, underage drinking, etc. It is a constant battle with the law enforcement. I will never believe that a man is sent home from work to “take care of things” with his wife.
You have the sophisticated people that, at least, finish high school and get a decent job, the ones that go on to college, don’t do drugs and prefer to marry before they get a girl pregnant. There ARE alot of naive people in the Deep South as there is anywhere else, but Ola’s little synopsis is rubbish!!

  49. cheryl says:

Wow. After reading some of Ola’s comments, I have to respond. I grew up in a small town in Arkansas, and a lot of what you said rings true. But the drug culture has changed a lot of things. It’s not unusual for a girl to run off with a man and trade sex for drugs. It’s also not unusual for her husband or boyfriend to take her back. But, after finding out so much about Ron’s personality, I bet there was a lot of tension in that household, and I can’t help but wonder if it played a part in his daughter’s disappearance. This all makes the marraige seem like a farce. If all of this did play a part, Misty would most definantly be indebted to Ron and help him. Personally, I don’t think Ron has a reason to cover for Misty. Also, these people all have internet access and myspaces, so they’re not as uninformed and backwoodsy as some might think. Of course, all of this just is my oppinion.
