Casey/Caylee Anthony Case: Prosecutors Release Anthony Family Depositions

Orlando, FL– In the latest bombshell in the case against Casey Anthony, late this afternoon prosecutors released the depositions of Anthony family members George, Cindy and Lee.

AnthonysCourt51909

In a highly unusual move, on the eve of what is arguably one of the most anticipated motion hearings to date, we will get a glimpse of exactly what the Anthony’s will be testifying to in the murder trial.

 George Interview Here

Lee Interview Here

Cindy Interview Part I Here

Cindy Interview Part II Here

Prosecutors were previously granted a motion to receive the grand jury testimony of George Anthony, as there were discrepencies between the testimony he gave in that proceeding, and his deposition.

Additionally, this Saturday October 17, CBS show 48 Hours Mystery is airing what appears to be the Anthony’s defending their daughter, and her defense team touting the latest “stranger danger” theory.

Blinkoncrime.com will be posting the transcripts as soon as they become available.

dddeerma – I’m so sorry if what I said about the photo sounded wrong. I just wanted to point out that I’m not seeing anything yet that looks like what you guys see – and I have a lot of experience with photoshop and a huge monitor. But that’s not to say – that if we ever get to see what was cropped out – that it won’t turn out to be something important. Because I do agree with the fact that she has on the shirt in question and she looks to be about the same age as right before she was gone.

My comment about seeing things because our minds play tricks – was not meant as anything other than different people – with different experiences – well we will all not see the same things when its open to interpretation. Please accept my apologies.

I am not seeing it either, but to be honest I am terrible at that.

(quick look at the June 15th video of Caylee, and wonder if her bangs are too long for that photo in the pink ‘BIG’ shirt– have to compare, wish there was a date given for the still)

Good to see more reporters take a stand in their articles in the MSM.

OK all, I am lost. Is the significance of this photo w/barrettes and possibly in the trunk that Casey took this picture of Caylee in the trunk before she killed her? If not, what is the significance of this particular photo and the reason that it is cropped?

Sorry if I am being dense but I am not sure what we are looking at.

Suzee, or maybe Cindy was a ‘keynote’ speaker for an afternoon’s entertainment– promoting their foundation to a captive audience. ;)

I think it’s a straight on, flat shot of light, because there isn’t much shadow definition in her facial features, like the under-eye areas, or her cheeks, the nose to mouth lines. The glints in her eyes are almost equally positioned, but the right one is bigger. Her little fingers closer and more to the right of the light source seem to be the brightest. The shine on her bangs is because of the rounded puff of her bangs over the forehead area.

KLEAT IS GREAT ON LIGHTING KNOW-HOW. Kleat?

This could have been taken with a cell phone – - I have no experience with cell phone photo-taking at all. Nada.

Yes, there is an “arc line” at the top of her bangs, which I read as the hair-parting where the rest of her hair is gathered up in to a pony tail.

    question:

Where her right little cheek first intersects with the pink sleeve, immediately to the right, there appears to be a dark, greenish-gray tubular triangular-shaped thing, with a straight up piece of tube or pipe directly in front. Just above those tubular shapes is a “splay” of something. Thoughts suz, anyone?

ps. suz, drinking could actually be of help at this point. You are funny :)

Thank you for seeing the image of the “distant car”.
    (I felt so alone) :)

    All:

I still can’t see anything telling me she’s in the back of the car.

Got a new computer, but haven’t installed much loved Photoshop yet – - just enlarging my screen from the photobucket link and tilting it down to get some brightness to the image (not really the ideal viewing conditions).

Blink — the little boy on the respirator? Timothy? Glad you’re great! But then, even when you’re only half great, you’re still the greatest!

Kleat, I noticed Casey’s seething, as well, not to negate the pursing of her lips which were no doubt holding back the nails! I well imagine she had a few dozen expletive explosions after the hearing.

Muse: Do you think Judge Strickland will deem a Change of Venue neccessary to ensure Casey a fair trial? Or will he just appease Baez, who’s sure to appeal, and move it north to south of Orlando? For all of the national and local attention the defense and the Anthonys have brought to this case, it would seem to me that the judge might just admonish both for contributing much to their own dilemna! Again, pardon my igorance. I just tend to think His Honor will want to hold on to this, though he may not decide one way or the other until voir dire.

And so now I’m continuing to read.

  9. Gavriella says:

Oh, and #548, Lily, I must have gone through some 500-600 photographs of Caylee on Justice For Caylee (there’s a slide show of sorts) and a few other sites, and she seems younger to me too, in comparing photographs. Her hair is not only shorter (bangs) but seems to have more of a curl to it. There are also photographs of her at varying ages with which to compare and some of her younger photographs are more similar to the one of her in the Big Trouble shirt, than the one taken of her with her great-grandfather just hours before she may have died. It is difficult to determine the age of such a young child, however, for something as simple as cutting her bangs and putting her hair up in pigtails could have caused her to appear to be a bit younger.

Blink — If Joy Wray is a red herring/decoy, distracting us with the notion that she will testify that there was no body there, then can you tell us who you think is the “real” potential defense witness? Or do they truly have nobody and nothing???

Truly. But remember, they dont have to.
Read Baez cross on all 3 depos.

Long time reader, first time poster. Thanks for this informative and challenging site. I didn’t have any intention of ever posting on the case, but now curiosity takes its toll. Concerning this photo of Caylee. I don’t see neither parking cars nor reflections of faces, but I *do* see one something that nobody seems interested in even mentioning (sorry if I overlooked the post that did).

What, please, could be that rectangular flat object shoved up under Caylee’s ominous “BigTrouble” T-shirt?

    TIA

  13. SuzeeB says:

I still haven’t gotten thru all of it but do I understand that
neither Lee, Cindy or George claim to not have gone over any of the discovery in this case and was it Lee and Cindy I think was too tired to look at some pages etc that were given to them in order to be prepared for these depositions.

Wouldn’t they want to review at the very least their own original statements? Or at least refresh their memories on dates, actions, etc. I dont understand this at all or is this just the height of arrogance.

Of course I realize George couldn’t read the inventory. Does he know what an ass he sounds like?

  14. Steadychick says:

Re: “I believe Lee was in receipt of those gas cans that George envisioned via the green pickup seen by Brian Burner” — WOW, are you saying the whole incident that George describes of Casey returning/throwing the gas cans didn’t happen? Somewhere in the recesses of my fried mind I think I remember you stating this before. Can you tell us why you believe the cans were put in the truck? i wondered what the SA was getting at by asking Lee about his lawn mower and mowing practices. Going to go read that part again, along with Baez cross in all three depositions.

    Yes and Yes.

I do see the green thing too which I mentioned earlier along with the face at top left. But dont want to speculate anymore. I will wait for you to load your Photoshop and then maybe you can enhance the pic enough to put our minds to rest. My software just wont do the job.

  16. Kleat says:

Blink, WHY did Baez cross on the state’s depos? Certainly was not to gain information, he knew what the answers would be as he has, at this point, full cooperation of all three deposees.

-he might want to put these answers ‘on record’ for some reason, so why? Anticipating the publication prior to trial? Give a clue to ‘a’ defense position, forethcoming or not?
-he might not trust the state to put pressure on the Anthony’s in the way of charges, so that by trial, they might change/modify answers as he knows and wants them. Baez can then hold them to those sworn answers at trial (little insurance).
    - or just to go on the record to ‘balance’ the deposition for readers from ‘jury pool’ or if the seated jury would see a transcript at some point in trial, they add this for ‘testimony’ of their own to the doc?

  17. wpgmouse says:

    questionmark, hello

    You might have something there.

The area looks strange because the folds and the angle of the letters don’t jibe with the neckline or Caylee’s body position. I had wondered if it was another shirt from the same clothing line folded up and placed on top of a “solid pink” one (in her deposition Cindy emphasized “solid pink” t-shirt and that she would never put something that had the “BIG TROUBLE” words on Caylee).

You’re right in that there is a dimensional depth to it, and yeah, it is possible something is actually underneath the one printed shirt.

questionmark, you have brought up another area for discussion. Hmmm.

  18. Gavriella says:

You don’t have to post this Blink, but:

Suz, now this is not only my opinion, but my experience as well: 5-6 years from now, very few will ever so much as think about Caylee. Far fewer will know who George and Cindy are, and especially if they make enough money off this to move to some semi-mansion in the hills of Upstate New York, where they will eventually end up blaming and hating one another. Eventually even those who find some self-gratification in sending Casey money, will cease, and she’ll fade away with the dust that covers the anals of even more recent history. Adam Walsh is a testimony to that fact, as are so many others. Are we not near hardpressed to remember Jessica Lunsford, without being reminded? We recall when we are reminded and we think, “Oh, how sad,” and though we might shed a tear and feel a pang of sorrow, we but move on to the next great tragedy that all too quickly succombs, like so many others, to the shadowy past.

If but for this one moment then, while yet we have our voices which are so closely attached to our emotions, which not only shout for justice but demand that justice be served, we must utilize this moment, and no matter who it offends or who it accuses, if there be any truth at all to whatever the accusations, and the accusations here are closer to truth than to mere speculation, and I would dare to say that there isn’t a single solitary Anthony who wants true justice for Caylee! This has so well been proven in every lie and conflicting statement they make, all of them, in their feeble attempts to not only cover up for Casey, but for themselves as well. They are like four teetering dominoes. When one falls, they all fall. Their perfect appearing world is thereafter shattered and the only hope they have left is that they, and this, will not be remembered. And it won’t be, eventually, and they will drift away into the commonality of the rest of society without having had to change their names.

So let them squirm, now. Let them feel the pressure, now. Let them cringe beneath the humiliation of the pointed fingers and obvious whispers as they pass by. Let them feel if but a bit of the contemptuous anger the rest of us feel over their having failed their grandchild! And they failed her miserably, entrusting her to one they themselves could by no means trust, for she had already proven herself to be a known liar and thief, and from their own two mouths they accused her of being an unfit mother, and yet 31 days went by, and neither made any real effort to find Caylee, and in the end of all things all they really care about is themselves and Casey.

I hope they choke on their crabcakes and caviar.

  19. Kleat says:

Lisa, interesting especially depending upon how that took place– take a girl home to mother is one thing, meet his mother at a vigil, perhaps another as he asks to interview JW. They did not sit together at the hearing and the judge did invite a man in second row, in a grey striped shirt, to meet him after the hearing. I hope this JW thing stays put with one person, doesn’t spread!! ;) Yikes the thought!!

  21. Kleat says:

wpg, I’ve got to catch up on the ‘photo’ discussion– I didn’t realize there was a link to a less cropped photo… am searching the links now.

It would be helpful to know what sort of cameras the Anthony’s had, besides ‘phones’ and ‘disposables’, did they have anything that would offer a creative wanna-be photography student/photographer something more flexible to learn with.

I’m going to search the posts to see if there is a better photo that you are discussing– so far I’ve only seen the one with a partial word on it.

  22. Kleat says:

wpg, I have NO experience with cell phone photography either, but the same principle as a built in flash on a simple camera– the flash is very close to the lense, so the lighting will come from the same direction as the camera and not offset. The flash is right in the middle of Caylee’s face so taken pretty much straight on, looks like to me.

Is there a photo that shows more of the front of the shirt?

  23. Kleat says:

I haven’t read the back posts of the full ‘photo’ discussion yet. I assume that the photobucket jpg has been altered with PS, the one with the small enlargement or enhancement.

I don’t know about ‘trunk’ idea yet, but first thought might be a cell phone (or?) taken from the front seat looking into the back where Caylee might be in her carseat. There seems to be a slight backlighting of the top of her head, which could be from lights shining in from the distance through the rear window. That would fit with car lights.

I surely hope that this is a photo from some time well before June 15th. It is strange that George was certain this was not the shirt she was wearing– why would he be saying that so surely when he is so ‘iffy’ about other information so his answers are not reliable at face value answering the state’s questions.

The pattern in the Anthony household, at least as set by Cindy, seems to be a documentation of all things Caylee, from the ultrasound, to first hand and feet prints, through so many photos collaged, through all sorts of scrapbooking momentos. Casey did seem to take a lot of photos of Caylee. Would Casey have taken a photo of Caylee knowing… (I just hope that photo was taken earlier and the state is interested because it shows her in the pink T with BIG TROUBLE.)

  24. BrendaT says:

RE 414 WSH & Blink – very funny and I needed a belly laugh after a long day in the salt mines.

Re the controversial cropped photo of Cayley so many have commented on. I am working for a printing company. Please please tell me what you consider the best link to or the best image(s) and I will see if one of the “professionals” can improve for us. This is very bizarre even for the bizarros.

Re Joy Wray – get out. I mean really. She’s been Baker acted I think 3 x. I didn’t know what Baker acted meant when I read her statement months ago. I searched it. When it came up meaning what we Canucks call being remanded for psychiatric assessment for possibly being a whack job it stuck in my memory. And like Blink said – please I mean no offense to whack jobs. We all have our own unique way of seeing things.

  25. Kleat says:

Oh, and I’d guess that the camera was fairly close range, not a zoom lens used from a distance, simply because at a distance with a zoom lens, the lighting would probably be fairly uniform over Caylee’s face and hand, but in this photo, notice that the hand out in front, is closer to the flash and brighter. So the flash itself (and camera) would be closer, like I’d expect a cell phone. I don’t know the minimum focus distance on those… anyone? Is it sort of standard? (I would guess the 35mm SLR camera ‘equivalent’ focal length lens would be 35 mm but maybe not so wide given the flash is so close– I have some learning to do about telephone cameras!! — will look it up)

  26. Kleat says:

Gavriella, yes, did you also notice that Casey did appear quite upset and was being consoled by Ms. Lyon as the camera showed her again? Ms. Lyon is probably giving Casey the needed support now. Knowing now what we know about the parents taking a cruise to the Bahamas, that must have also made Casey feel a bit badly for herself and her situation, as she did when her friends took off without her for PR.

  27. questionmark says:

wpg, Thank you for answering. I asked because I’m really puzzled. I’ve looked at that outline till my eyes ached, and still I’m unable to imagine what could cause it. And since, in general, my questions are answered, on this site, before I can even think of asking them, I was wondering why nobody seems troubled about this but me.

  28. wpgmouse says:

    Kleat

What link is there that shows more of the photo?

  29. Kleat says:

wow, I am so far behind– the gas can incident– whoa. George’s comment about gas cans from neighbor’s ‘vehicles’ makes sense now– in a pick up open bed vs break in. (was that a George slip up?)

  30. susie says:

Something which has seemed odd from the beginning of this travesty is the call that Casey makes from jail. Casey is very annoyed with her mother’s cameo being on tv. Her annoyance comes from the spotlight taken from her. An innocent person wrongly accused would not be pissed because her family is all over the media looking for her baby. In the call she says ” a complete waste calling you guys” and that is exactly what it was to her. A waste of time.

  31. Kleat says:

Back to the photo (PS version)– can clearly see what looks like a car in the distance. If she is in her car seat, are there no ‘sides’ or high back showing (?). Would a baby be sitting so high up in the back seat, booster or not, to have the back window at her shoulder as we see here? I don’t want to do the ‘trunk thing’–

The top of the distant ‘car’ seems to have some light falling on it, maybe it’s parked or driving under a street or parking lot lamp. Looks like a night photo.

  32. melissa says:

Were there any Mardi Gras beads/decorations/masks in the car back window? Is Casey standing outside the trunk leaning towards Caylee with a mask on and we catch a glimpse from the outside back window between the trunk gasket and lid? I’m too spooked. I hope this is just an overexposure or whatever you call it now.

  33. Sharai says:

LOL, I, too, see the “Mars Face” in the upper left corner.I’m not seeing what you all are seeing.I agree that there is a very strange rectangular bump underneath her shirt. I can’t imagine what that could be.
I’m confused as to what the significance of this photo might be. Are you all thinking this was taken the day of Caylee’s demise? Since it is in the deposition I would imagine it has some significance. What do you all think that is?

  34. suz says:

Maybe by taking this cruise while their daughter is on trial for her life and their little granddaughter is dead and gone, the Ants are demonstrating that ugly coping runs in the family. Gawd, they’re a hot mess, as the kids say.

  35. Kleat says:

I disagree with my comment about the backlighting on the child’s hair– I put the original colour photo into PS elements and enlarged. That makes what appeared to be backlighting, now visible as the part in her hair behind the bangs as the hair is pulled back.

What is the part of a hand in the top left corner doing– does not look as if it’s the child’s but maybe the photographer is holding something? Attracting the child’s attention for a photo– she’s not looking in that direction though.

If this photo was taken in the trunk, no matter when it was taken, it has horrific implications. No child should be in any trunk at any time. The first view of the photo was chilling– in it’s black and white, grainy deposition copy. I was hoping it was just showing the shirt, as the video showed the shorts.

Is there an off-chance that this photo is from a video camera?

  36. suz says:

hi, questionmark, I am thinking that the shirt looks distorted like that (as if something rectangular is beneath it) because those iron-on letters with the glitter on them are stiff and are holding that part of the shirt kind of flat and straight instead of letting it drape like the rest of the fabric.

  37. Kleat says:

wpg, caught up on one of your ‘photo’ posts that I hadn’t read through completely as I hadn’t yet checked the photos closely or other discussion.

Agree– independently concluded the same thing as I hadn’t read what you said about the highlights on the bangs.

You all have done an incredible job on this photo observations– I’m still looking and catching up with what you have all been discussing– wow.

  38. Momof3 says:

wpgmouse # 520 After you brought up the car in the distance i could see it also I don’t know if what I am seeing is the spare tire or not. The tube that someone referred to by Caylee’s cheek could possibly be the tube that sticks up from the tire to fill it with air. They are usually copper in color/metal at the top . I know everyone can see things differently. I am just glad noone laughed at my observations. I have been driving my husband nuts talking with him about this case for quite awhile now.LOL I did ask my husband if he could see anything he said yes, something metal. I too will wait for someone to get an uncropped version or better software or even wait until the trial when hopefully all will be revealed. I am just happy I have found a place in this website where I can read, ask questions and discuss this case with others and believe me, my husband is too. Thanks Blink and Thank you to all those who post here- Momof3

  39. suz says:

Hi, Sharai, I am not sure why the shirt ended up in the deposition except that they asked Lee if he had ever seen Caylee wearing it before (he didn’t). I’m not sure whether the Ants denied that there was such a shirt (possibly saying that the stranger/zanny must have put that shirt on her as it wasn’t one caylee owned) or if the state is going with the angle that casey sinisterly went out and bought this shirt just for murdering purposes. Maybe there is some really simple explanation I am missing (like the Ants denying that it’s even Caylee’s remains?).

I do love the theories high tech sleuthing (and am even trying it myself, lol), but don’t personally see anything amiss in the photo—just happy, chubby younger caylee smiling and pointing in some setting with (I think) some other people in the background.

  40. suz says:

Oh, sharai, it might ALSO be in the depo because somebody (cough LEE cough) deleted the photo from photobucket or something, and maybe they are trying to catch him in a lie or get him to fess up?

  41. Momof3 says:

questionmark # 577 I am sorry I do think what you brought up is important I can also see how the shirt looks square underneath the writing I don’t know if something is under her shirt I have an observation from my own life that may shed some light on this question. When my toddler outgrows his favorite cartoon shirts in order to make them fit longer I cut off the collars so that that 1. it fits over his head and2. so it will rest longer on his torso. If there is weight to the cartoon on the shirt as I believe there was bulkiness’weight in the letters of Caylee’s shirt the weight would make the shirt lay strangely Maybe this is why the collar of Caylee’s shirt survived maybe it was put in the bag afterwards just as Blink speculates the shorts were.-Momof3

just to clarify, the shorts were not found in the bag.

  42. wpgmouse says:

I agree the distant car is parked and in a dark setting. I also agree this is not the back trunk.

IF the photo was taken in the car IMO it was taken by someone in the front driver seat, between the opening of the front bucket seats. Caylee is looking slightly up at the lens.

If this is not taken in the car, could that be CA’s parked vehicle?

Yeah, I thought the same about the height of Caylee vs. the distant car. Could be wherever she is at, the location higher up, with maybe a parking lot below and further away.

If that is part of her arm in the upper left she could be holding on to something. Is she lifting up her pony tail (like at the nursing home), or maybe hanging on to a railing?

  43. dee says:

Sorry Blink and everyone else, I got a lil angry earlier, I am just getting caught up and am so disgusted reading all this mess, I need to try and put this all in a happy place. MY APOLOGIES FOR MY NAUGHTY TONGUE.

  44. suz says:

Gavriella, if George isn’t squirming after that humiliating deposition, then I don’t know what would make him squirm. Jeezy peazy, that thing was such a train wreck it was uncomfortable to read. I had to read it with my hand mostly covering my eyes. Of course, he didn’t fling himself off the cruise ship so perhaps he has successfully conquered his suicidal tendencies or is indeed squirm proof.

I’m all for schadenfreude—heck, I enjoy it. It’s just that once in awhile I think, man, it must really suck to be the Anthony’s, even if much of it is their own doing (or undoing).

  45. Peggy says:

Just checked my own cell phone pictures to be sure…..if that picture came from a cell phone and it was still on the phone when the police pulled it off then they would be able to see the properties for the picture which would provide the date and time that the picture was taken.

  46. suz says:

Tug (from a post wayyyyy up the thread)—I think Geo is Jo Jo and Cindy’s dad in the nursing home is Pop Pop.

PS, Blink, Berkeley’s the wrong coast—-I’m a Hoya all way..!

  47. suz says:

Also in response to posts way up above, I don’t think there is anything suspicious about Lee noting that the photo is cropped. I think that’s an obvious thing that any one of us would notice because its proportions are wrong (it’s just too narrow for a regular photo).

  48. kyrasmommy says:

The pic probably has a date or time stamp on it, or if its a file there is a date when it was either taken, or uploaded. I think that is why its so important perhaps? Whats the yellowish fabric behind her, I cringe to think its the laundry bag or her pooh blanket..

I dont see alot that others are seeing, but I definately believe that is her pooh blanket.

Blink, Anyone help me out here, all this BS in these depos are just that, BS, could it be that the A’s are just “mind juggin” (not the word I want to use) everyone to get out of having to testify, could it be they are purposely lying and making themselves out to look like complete idiots on purpose. I am not quite sure how to put in words what I am trying to say…

I am just as confused as ever, is all this BS be some sort of tactic devised by the “Chosen One” (Baez) and not the A’s?

The A’s have lied since day one, their lies were quite simple in the beginning and quite easy to remember, it seems now that they are just all over the place and the things they have said are even more outrageous and they keep changing and changing, I would think they would keep to the same story, I mean we all know the first story given a year ago word for word, they are not mentally challenged, idiots YES, mentally challenged NO…why do they trip up so badly? Is this some ill-fated attempt to get the A’s out of testifying against Casey?

I really think the A’s are willing to take on the charge of perjury if that means the possibility of sparing Casey from the DP or Life and/or dragging this nightmare out as long as possible.

I just can’t figure this mess out :-(
