Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: Macaluso Out – New Discovery Released

Orlando, FL– Announced this Sunday evening, California Attorney Todd Macaluso will not be Casey Anthony’s Valentine; or her attorney.

Jose-casey-and-todd-macaluso

As predicted exclusively at blinkoncrime.com, Macaluso informed Casey and her defense team that he would not be able to represent her in the murder charge against her due to entering the alternative discipline program with the California Bar Association (CBA).

However, Mr. Macaluso has been participating in the ADP for several months. In fact, he has handled other cases, several of them, in the meantime.

Macaluso, dubbed the Madoff of Law at blinkonrime.com, had pending disciplinary charges against him he neglected to inititially disclose when he submitted his pro hac vice to Judge Stan Strickland last March.

Blinkoncrime has learned from a source inside the CBA, that Macaluso reached an agreement last week with the CBA to voluntarily take a license suspension beginning in April, for an undisclosed period of time, in order to avoid a disciplinary trial on the current charges brought against him last year.

Why allow him to continue to practice law both in Cali and Florida and all of a sudden pull the plug? New Complaint.

An additional complaint was filed last year that has reached elevated status within the CBA and became the “proverbial straw” as it were. It involves Macaluso’s distribution of a settlement, and the fact that he has already admitted the offense in Oregon, where the lawsuit is being litigated currently.

Hundreds of Discovery Docs to Be Released This Morning

Announced Yesterday, the State Attorneys Office will be releasing several CD’s of new discovery after 8:30 AM EST this morning. It is expected to contain video of the special Henkel duct tape believed to be the source of the tape found on the skull of Caylee Marie Anthony, and other documents and photos.

Check back to blinkoncrime.com for updates and links to the discovery.

I read, maybe on WFTV, that payments stopped right around the time that Lee moved back home, which is curious since he said he was helping with expenses. But then they also reported that he has moved out, and they don’t know when. So perhaps he moved shortly thereafter and didn’t contribute all that much.
    *****
I saw that, but it’s not quite true. Lee moved back home in January 2009, and the Anthonys made the last mortgage payment on May 1, 2009. As of Lee’s July 30, 2009 SAO deposition, he was still living at home, so as I see it, the Anthonys continued to make mortgage payments for the first five months after Lee moved back and then stopped. I don’t know if Lee has moved out, but if he has, he moved out after his SAO deposition.
January 2009 – mortgage paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
February 2009 – mortgage paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
March 2009 – mortgage paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
April 2009 – mortgage paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
May 2009 – mortgage paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
Beginning in June, the Anthonys stopped making mortgage payments, but Lee was still living at home for at least June and July.
June 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
July 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee living at Hopespring Drive
August 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
September 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
October 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
November 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
December 2009 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
January 2010 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
February 2010 – mortgage NOT paid, Lee ?
I suppose it’s possible Lee found out his parents were not using his $1,000/month contribution to make the mortgage payment, so he moved out again.

I have always thought that he was flakey! attention seeker! He doesnt have much respect for LE if you ask me evidenced by always trying to bail someone out of jail! going where he shouldnt go. Like in the misty case he was talking about bailing her out! mark nejame commented on that on nanc grace at the time. Something to the effect that he needs to keep out of it. He just wants to go down in history as involved more attention for him! I mean I am sure he is not even all that.

I am so with you when you say LP wants to be a celebrity. His desperation to be associated with high profile cases leads me to think he’s aiming for status, publicity and of course, moola.

I too was entertained by his appearance and off center comments. He reminded me of a character from a western novel.

When he wasn’t needed by NG, he was brushed aside to deal with his ‘child star syndrome’. What to do now? He LOVED the attention, he LOVED spouting his daisy chain theories, he loved being in demand. You can only hide your ignorance for so long.

At least he takes some spotlight from the Anthony’s. I’ll take LP over Pete and Repeat any day.

hey you all, I found this floating around the net.
It is kind of interesting but I have a problem with it.
If there was innapropriate behavior from Baez and KC the judge would have removed him from the case and also this cannot be about the tape as it is sealed and the Prosecution has alraedy seen it in closed quarters. Blink what do you think about what this person is blogging about? do you think any of it is true?

Mr. Nejames is going to MOP THE FLOOR with Baez, and expect a good SMACKDOWN from Judge Strickland. Here’s the very latest from my excellent source in FLA:
    1. Dom Casey has indeed turned on the Anthonys because he was facing a heap of trouble himself! He is in protective custody and has begun spilling ALL the beans to SAO. He knew poor Caylee was dead and was told where to find her remains by Cindy (pillowtalk??!). Cindy has been the ringleader for a small band of deluded jerks who are on a campaign to spread reasonable doubt. There is a lot of illegal stuff going on with the ‘Team Caylee/Yuku’ group and they are going down. Cindy and George (who is very P.O.ed at his wife, btw) are desperate to negotiate a plea deal for themselves because there is probable cause for Obstruction of Justice charges!!
    2. Dom Casey also knows all about the (ahem) “inappropriate relationship” between Baez and Casey (yuk!) and SURPRISE there is SOMETHING on the jail tapes!!! Baez is going to removed as defense counsel and censured for unethical conduct.
All in all, it’s been a very interesting few days and look for the Baez and Anthony house of cards to come crashing down soon.

  19. Kleat says:

    Back to my ‘quiz question’.

In November of last year, Richard Hornsby, legal analyst to media sources, apparently unpaid, wrote a blog article titled ‘In Defense of the Casey Anthony Defense”:

    Quote:

“In Defense of the Casey Anthony Defense.
Nov 22nd, 2009 by Richard Hornsby.

As most readers of this blog (both of them) probably know by now – Jose Baez recently filed a Motion in Limine to Introduce Prior Bad Acts and Other Circumstantial Evidence Pertaining to Roy M. Kronk (“the Motion”) – the blogosphere is buzzing.

…But rather than jumping to conclusions, I instead read the motion and I have to tell you, from a legal perspective, it was sound, smart, and strategic.

The Motion was dead on about the law and it was a dead on strategic move from a criminal defense perspective. And I opined this same position on WESH-NBC when I said “This is the first significant and credible shot the defense has taken against the state. I think it has a high likelihood of success.”

So I was flabbergasted when WFTV-ABC “legal analyst” William “Bill” Sheaffer said: “I deem these tactics as despicable” and then “blasted” Mr. Baez on his blog (Does Casey’s Defense Have No Sense Of Decency?), local news, and web video footage for WFTV-ABC.

Well ladies and gentleman, only one of us can be right… (I am, but more on that later.)”

    Unquote

    ——–

And now, has Mr. Hornsby softened or shifted (or even somewhat Schaefferized) his opinion ‘In Defense of the Casey Anthony Defense’? In a recent interview, on Hornsby’s YouTube and on WESH, the legal opinion seems to shift now to”

    Hornsby says:

“Using her (Jill Kerley, the ex deposed last week) could backfire on Casey’s defense” and WESH’s reporter
says “hornsby says it’s only real value is in the court of public opinion or with potential jurors”.

Quite different from Hornsby’s earlier position when he said: “This is the first significant and credible shot the defense has taken against the state. I think it has a high likelihood of success.”

My mind is swirling! I do not offer much to this site and I am almost embarassed to post right now but……………..I can’t quit thinking that Roy Kronk was paid or used by the defense to find Caylee’s remains and report what he found. It seems to me he came into this sorted tale suspiciously. The urinating in the woods? WHAT? Somebody gave him the info of where to find Caylee and then, that SAME somebody turned on him and set him up as a suspect. It all seems too too suspicious! His ex-wife? That whole theory is embarassing also! I could have come up with something better than that! If Roy Kronk’s ex-wife did not report this so called duct tape kidnapping to police when it happened? What relevance does it have in this case at all??? I also believe she is being paid to give this crazy story to the defense team. IMO both Roy and ex-wife are being used by someone.
My other thought is…….the duct tape itself. I thought and I thought and I thought. If I was in a very desparate situation where I would be using duct tape, (God help me) I would have ripped the end of the duct tape with my teeth! As bad as this sounds, I do it all the time!!! Couldn’t Casey’s teeth impressions be on that duct tape? I can’t get that horrible picture out of my head, Casey ripping away at the duct tape with her teeth! I promise never ever to rip duct tape in that manner.

Casey Anthony: Nancy Grace asks guests to speculate about evidence that state isn’t disclosing
CNN Headline News, Caylee and Casey Anthony, Nancy Grace, WFTV — posted by halboedeker on February, 27 2010 12:02 PM
Discuss This: Comments(3) | Add to del.icio.us | Digg it

What evidence could prosecutors in the Casey Anthony case want to keep from disclosing to the defense?

The was the subject of wide-ranging speculation last night on HLN’s Nancy Grace show. The guests ranged from Kathi Belich of WFTV-Channel 9 to bounty hunter Leonard Padilla.

What do make of it all? I’ll leave that to you, but here’s a sample of what people were saying.

Grace producer Ellie Jostad set up the discussion by explaining that prosecutors had told Judge Stan Strickland that “secret materials or certain materials and information have come into the possession of law enforcement.” Jostad added that prosecutors want to delay disclosure to Anthony’s defense team, and Strickland agreed that the information would be kept secret 30 days.

    What might it be?

“We obviously don’t know,” said Drew Petrimoulx of WDBO radio in Orlando. “It’s also going to be withheld from the public because of the way the discovery evidence goes. First it goes to the defense, then to the public. So you know, us reporters are also left questioning what exactly this evidence is.”

Eleanor Odom, a felony prosecutor, wondered “if this is some type of evidence that could easily be destroyed, or maybe there’s a privacy right of somebody and that’s why they don’t want the evidence to get out just now.”

Odom echoed a point made by Grace: The defense will get it well before trial.
The take from WFTV’s hard-charging Belich? “One thing that I’m hearing is that — you were asking earlier, Why does this have to be kept secret? From what I understand, investigators don’t want any interference. If they start releasing information about who they might be talking to and what they might be talking to those people about, the concern is that, you know, the evidence or the witnesses might be contaminated and there might be some interference by the defense. And so I think they just want to settle this, figure it out, and then we’ll hear about what all of this is, whether it’s relevant or not.”

Bounty hunter Padilla was more specific.

“I came up with the theory that there was a situation where [meter reader Roy] Kronk had gotten information from somebody in the jail. And I think that’s what — I think that’s what it’s about,” Padilla said.

Kronk found the remains of Caylee Anthony. Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in her daughter’s death.

And what do you say? Feel free to speculate. Everyone else is. But you don’t get to be on Grace’s show.

I like Leonard ( most of the time) because he is such a character, but I don’t think he knows any more about this case than the rest of us. He knows a bit about Anthony family dynamics from the time he spent with them, but I never forget that when the rest of us were saying – 31 days! and listening to Casey’s complete lack of concern about her child, only wanting to talk to Tony in her first call home from Jail, we knew what this young woman’s character was made of, and Leonard wanted to bail her out because he believed the Zanny B.S. – so I don’t attach much weight to what he says, it just amuses me.

‘Mitlock’ gives law firm its million-dollar teeth
By Amy L. Edwards, Orlando Sentinel

    February 28, 2010
His nickname is “Mitlock” and he’s often called John Morgan’s “set of teeth.”

He has represented judges, world-famous musicians and most recently a Kissimmee woman suing Casey Anthony.

While Morgan is arguably Central Florida’s most notorious and recognizable lawyer, it’s his legal partner who is known for fierce courtroom battles: Keith Mitnik.

Mitnik’s just as at-ease in front of the cameras and reporters as Morgan, and has plenty of high-profile cases to put him there, but you won’t see his face on billboards or commercials.

Mitnik is Morgan & Morgan’s courtroom warrior — a specialist dispatched to pick jurors and go to battle.
For his part, 51-year-old Mitnik said he doesn’t want to be attached to anything that sounds “celebrity.”

Mitnik said it’s important that jurors know he is “sincere. Real. Not some actor putting on a show.”

Mitnik, a Eustis native who graduated from the University of Central Florida and then Florida State University Law School, said he never wants to appear as though he’s a big-shot.

“I’m not,” he said. “I don’t feel important. I feel lucky.”

Those who know Mitnik say he really is humble.

“He’s one of the most genuinely, sincerely good guys that you’ll ever meet,” fellow Morgan & Morgan attorney Alexander “Zander” Clem said.

“[Mitnik] believes that a handshake is your bond, and your word is your bond. Being honest and ethical is the way to be,” Clem said.

Mitnik certainly has plenty to boast about.

He’s a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, designated for lawyers who have verdicts in excess of $1 million. Less than 1 percent of U.S. lawyers are members.

Last year, an Orange County jury awarded one of his clients, a 13-year-old girl paralyzed from a car accident, about $13 million.

“There is not a lawyer in the state of Florida in the last three years that has more million and multi-million dollar verdicts than Keith Mitnik,” Morgan said.

Morgan said he spent years trying to recruit Mitnik to join his firm. In 1997, he finally got him.

“I knew then that it was the single most important thing that I’d ever done for my law firm,” Morgan said.

Those who have battled Mitnik in the courtroom also applaud his work.
They were on opposing sides in a complicated case involving time-share mogul David Siegel and his ex-wife in the late 1990s.

Downs said she had been working with a team of lawyers and consultants when, all of a sudden, she was “dealing with the flame thrower, Keith Mitnik.”

“Keith is a warrior,” she said. “And so when he straps on his gear, he fights. That’s what the people who hire him want. And it works for him.”

Eventually, Downs and Mitnik made peace.

After the judge ruled, Downs recalled, Mitnik walked across the courtroom, congratulated and complimented her.

“It filled my heart with respect and love for him,” she said. “I appreciated it. I’ve tried to emulate it.”

Downs, the Orlando city attorney and president-elect of The Florida Bar, said she now considers Mitnik a friend. She follows his success “with pleasure and pride.”

Mitnik, she said, has a rare gift. He’s comfortable in the courtroom.

“He moves around with ease. When he’s comfortable, the people around him are comfortable,” she said.

“Keith has a self-deprecating quality. The trick, for those of us in this business, is to have confidence. . . . But you can’t let that make one side-step in[to] arrogance. Jurors don’t like that.”

Mitnik’s confidence and humility is a winning combination, she said.

“I think he’s emotionally honest. He is who he portrays. He’s not putting on an act,” she said.

And yet, “He’s comfortable attacking when he needs to attack.”
Mitnik travels the country and has handled a variety of cases.

Mitnik said he probably tries more cases as a personal injury lawyer representing the plaintiff than any other such lawyers in Florida — about 15 a year.

This summer, Mitnik will likely make headlines again when he and fellow Morgan & Morgan attorneys take on accused murderer Casey Anthony in a defamation suit.

Morgan & Morgan is representing Zenaida Gonzalez, a Kissimmee mother who claims Anthony damaged her reputation by naming her as a babysitter who took Anthony’s 2-year-old Caylee. Anthony is accused of killing Caylee in the summer of 2008 and investigators have said no such babysitter exists.

And though he’s got plenty of big-figure verdicts, the best work is on the small cases, Mitnik said.

He’s just as proud of the nameless cases as he is representing members of the Harlem Globetrotters.

Mitnik said he feels a huge responsibility to head-off injustices and has told countless young lawyers he never tries a case over money.

“If I don’t believe in a case, I don’t walk in a courtroom,” he said.

It has been an interesting journey of discovery. The past 18 months have been eye opening to say the least. Both the Haleigh Cummings and Caylee Anthony stories have revealed to me just what a strange world we live in.

  33. Thinker says:

Many of the bloggers on several blogs covering the Caylee Anthony case are outraged over LP’s statements on the Nancy Grace show, broadcast Feb 26, 2010, where he made some serious accusations against Orange County law enforcement and even the Justice system in this county, along with baseless accusations against Roy Kronk and his girlfriend.

Many bloggers are writing to Nancy Grace to voice their concerns and to ask her to stop giving LP a platform to spout his baseless accusations.

Dancing on her daughter’s grave? A Review of the Caylee Anthony homicide
February 27, 3:35 AMSt. John the Baptist Parish Progressive ExaminerGregory Boyce
The tragic and perplexing story of the homicide of toddler Caylee Anthony begins with a frantic phone call made by a distraught grandmother to an Orlando, Florida police 911 dispatcher on July 15, 2008.

Cindy Anthony the maternal grandmother of the slain 2-year-old toddler and the mother of Casey Anthony, Caylee’s mother and the arrested prime suspect in Caylee’s murder, was the first person to notify the Orange County Sheriffs Department that her granddaughter was missing.

Cindy whose voice was shaking with anger, initially called the Orlando Police Department 911 dispatcher in order to make a complaint against her daughter Casey. The nature of the complaint was at best ambiguous and at times, incoherent. After determining the complaint’s jurisdiction, the dispatcher promptly re-routed Cindy to the Orange County Sheriffs Department.

Once the connection was made between Cindy and the Orange County Sheriff Department’s 911 operator, Cindy Anthony immediately sprang into a discombobulated diatribe that implied Casey’s involvement in the theft of Cindy’s automobile.

The bizarre conversation between Cindy Anthony and the operator began as follows:

“I have a 22-year-old person that has, um, grand theft sitting in my auto with me. My car was stolen. We’ve retrieved it; today we found out where it was at. We’ve retrieved it, I’ve got that. And I’ve got affidavits from my banking account. I want to bring her in. I want to press charges”.

In between speaking to the operator and the operator taking notes, Cindy was overheard on audio tape warning Casey.

“My next thing will be child’s thing and we’ll have a court order to get her if that’s what you wanna play. We’ll do it and you’ll never…”

Casey’s reply is inaudible, to which Cindy Anthony retorted:
“Well, then, you have … no, I’m not giving you another day. I’ve given you a month.”

In her conversation with the 911 responder, Cindy Anthony stated that her daughter Casey had just admitted to her that Caylee had been missing for nearly a month and she didn’t know where she was.

Adding to the story’s bizarre series of twists and turns, Cindy Anthony within minutes of initially hanging up from the Orange County Sheriffs Department re-called the Sheriffs department and said:

“I have someone here that I need to be arrested … in my home.”

Cindy told the responder that she was referring to her daughter Casey. In the same breath Cindy told the operator that she wanted to also report the disappearance of her granddaughter Caylee. The 911 responder asked Cindy why she wanted her daughter taken into custody.

Cindy’s reply: “For stealing an auto and stealing money,” she replied. “I already spoke with someone. … I was going to drive her to the police station and no one’s open. They said they would bring a deputy to my home when I got home to call them.”

However the bombshell that Cindy Anthony dropped was her statement to the responder that the automobile that her daughter Casey had driven smelled as though a dead body had been inside it.

“There’s something wrong,” Cindy Anthony told the dispatcher. “I found my daughter’s car today, and it smells like there’s been a dead body in the damn car.”

Attempting to connect the dots to the story as told by Cindy, we go from (1) Cindy reporting a stolen but now recovered automobile, to (2) the reporting of stolen money, which incidentally Cindy claims was stolen by her daughter Casey, to (3) the reporting of her missing grandchild who is by the way, Casey’s daughter to finally (4) mentioning that the car that Cindy had been driving now mysteriously smells like a dead body.

It appears that all roads lead to Casey Anthony.

From the “get-go” Casey Anthony has been a study of lies and denial. During Cindy’s third 911 conversation on July 15, she forced Casey to talk to the dispatcher, at which point Casey alleged that Caylee had been stolen by a baby sitter; a fictitious character that police later proved never existed.

The dispatcher asked why she hadn’t called sooner. Casey responded:

“I’ve been looking for her and have gone through other resources to try to find her, which was stupid.”
As police investigators dug deep to find clues to what may have happened to little Caylee, police cadaver dogs did alert their handlers that indeed a dead body had at one time been inside the vehicle that Casey had driven. Sensing that her daughter was going to be charged with murder, Cindy Anthony changed her story from that of smelling a dead body in the car to that of smelling old pizza that had been left in the car for almost three weeks.

During the timeframe that Casey told investigators Caylee was missing, Casey (a single parent) lived her life as though the disappearance of her only child was not a concern. Photos of Casey partying at nightclubs and at the apartments of friends raised red flags to the police that Casey’s behavior was not in line with that of a loving and concerned parent. Questions of why it took Casey Anthony nearly a month before she reported her daughter being missing to authorities along with the police proving that Casey had lied to investigators about a phantom babysitter led to Casey being arrested for the disappearance of her daughter on July 16, 2008.

On October 14, 2008, Casey Anthony was indicted by a grand jury on charges of first-degree murder. Casey appearing somewhat nervous entered a plea of not-guilty to the charges that she killed her daughter Caylee.

A significant break in Caylee’s disappearance occurred on December 11, 2008, when skeletal remains of what appeared to be a young child were found in the woods by meter reader Roy Kronk. Forensic reports indicate that the child’s skull had duct tape wrapped around it. Documents released to the public by police investigators on January 21, 2009 determined that the duct tape had been placed over the mouth and nostrils of the dead child.

On December 19, 2008, medical examiners confirmed that the remains found were those of Caylee Anthony. Additionally the death was ruled as a homicide and that the exact cause of death could not be determined.
A tentative timeframe for Casey’s murder trial has been set for the summer of 2011. Speculation on why Casey may have murdered her daughter point in the direction that Casey was jealous of the relationship between her daughter and her mother Cindy and that Casey had grown tired of being a mother. Casey maintains that she is innocent and that the real killer of her daughter will be revealed during her trial.

As always Louisianans the New Orleans Examiner.Com is interested in what you think. Is Casey Anthony “dancing on her daughter’s grave” by denying that she murdered her? Do you believe that Casey is innocent of such a vile crime and if not do you believe that she deserves the death penalty if found guilty? Inquiring minds want to know. Sound off.

Until next time Louisianans, Good Day, God Bless and Good Fishing.

Thank you, chica, for posting that article. The opening “From the “get-go” Casey Anthony has been a study of lies and denial.” is the heart of it all.

She is deeply sociopathic, and as we’ve all looked closely through the lens at this family, we can see her mother Cindy appears to be sociopathic as well. Cindy’s 911 calls as related in the article show how easily she moved from one story to another to get what she wanted from Casey. I still believe she was trying to scare Casey that day and never intended for the police to get really involved. She thought she could control them, too.

The deception goes back quite a ways. Casey went through 7 months of a hidden pregnancy and walked around like it was just another day in the neighborhood. She seemingly never expressed concern about what she was going to do with a baby in her life now. I can’t even understand the thinking. What was she planning on doing? Hiding the pregnancy from her family and then making the baby disappear? Waiting until she went into labor and then saying “hey Mom and Dad, I have a baby”? It makes no sense. And her family asked no questions. George relates in his deposition that he never asked who the father was. What?! Your single daughter is about to have a baby and all you can tell me is how happy you were to be a grandfather?

Then we move to the utter deception in this girl’s life after the baby was born – an imaginary father, an imaginary dream job where she sets her own hours, works from home and party venues. An imaginary Nanny with an imaginary dog who was at her complete and utter disposal. A Nanny who had so much money she didn’t need to work, kept Caylee’s personal belongings at her home, and kept an air mattress for the countless sleepovers at Casey’s whim. A Nanny who apparently was at Casey’s beck and call any time day or night and didn’t mind taking Caylee for days on end with no provisions from her mother. For someone who spent so much time “nannying” Caylee, she never met Casey’s family or friends. Again, what is so disturbing is that her family never questioned it.

From their depositions, I was struck at how little this closely-knit family seems to really know about one another. In any family, conversation is our key form of interaction and how we glean what is going on in our respective lives. All kinds of things come up in conversation that give you a glimpse of another’s life. What so and so did at work today; I ran into my boss at the grocery store; this project I’m working on is driving me crazy; I’m doing paperwork tonight to prep for a meeting tomorrow, what should I take to the office Christmas party. I’ve never been to my sister’s office, but I am 100% certain she works there and has worked there for years. This is based on endless conversations and interactions we’ve had ranging from the office décor to a paycheck being late. I’ve watched her grow and mature in her profession. These interactions have credibility because we talk, ask questions, and show an interest in one another’s life.

The other clue is our dear, beloved, and very silent Caylee. A nearly-three year old who never uttered a word about the Nanny, never referred to her by name, didn’t seem to have very much to say about a white puppy, in fact didn’t seem to have much to say at all about where she spent her time when she talked to Grandma Cindy. Let me tell you – we have a little one in our family who is exactly Caylee’s age (nearly three). She talks non-stop, offers opinions on just about anything, misses nothing when she walks into a room, and could tell you how many whiskers are on my Persian feline’s face who she addresses by name. She is completely aware of her comings and goings, and will happily tell you what happened at school and where she’s been with my daughter. And as much as I want to believe she is the brightest, smartest and most clever 2-3 year old in the world, I know she is a completely normal healthy, bright child.

This tragedy never had to happen if someone has reigned Casey in a long time ago. But it takes honesty to beget honesty. And this family has never been honest with one another. Sadly, Caylee was the one who paid the price.

Nancy S – thank so for the information from Lily-Marie …this case just keeps on getting more weird. However, I reading – perhaps on Blink (!) – that the reason that Baez didn’t want that December 2008 tape of Casey reacting to the news that a body had been found off of Hopespring Drive to be shown – was not because it showed Casey freaking out at the news of the as-of-yet unidentified body being found (clearly knowing that it was her daughter). Supposedly – the real reason that Baez wants that tape never to see the light of day is because it shows him with his hand in Casey’s prison clothes … He has already been warned not to hug, kiss or otherwise fondle Casey – and I thought that PI Hoover also recounted the scene of Casey and Baez eating a licorice string towards each other through the prison bars! If that is the case and jail personnel saw that – that should have been brought to the SAO and Judge’s attention immediately!

  37. chica says:

    Joan
I hope the last part of your comment is true. I think that baez needs to be disbarred. Good riddence to his arrogant self. He has only been in practice a short time and has already managed to make major no no’s. I guess the seductress is realy mourning huh by her actions she didnt waste time to make her move and he was willing and ready!
but wait he is married!!! ohoh!!

You are so very welcomed. Yes the dynamics of that family are amongst the most bazaar that i have heard of ever!
There is not one in that family that is familiar with the truth. I have always infered that cindy is 100% a sociopath, the lies and scams they weave our beyond anyones belief. Now they are living elsewhere(sneaky) move as ususal. I do not believe anything that comes out of their mouth. I just wished this whole mess was over with so that we can all go on with our normal lives and leave them to wallow in the mess they created. I hope and pray that cayle did not suffer much! to be absent from the body is to be present with the lord. That gives me great solace because they did not deserve her in their lives. Evidenced by how they are making lots of money off her death. Their concious is seared and they are beyond help.

  39. chica says:

I think baez probably thinks that he is chopped liver!!
I wonder if he is loosing any sleep?
If indeed it turns out that he did mess with her All I got to say is ! they sure didnt waste anytime. Was it consumated in his office all those days she was there. I mean doors lock they could of told staff to not bother them and hold calls and appointments.
    hey anythings possible …

  40. ChicagoJudy says:

Muse… that a was a great post. You nailed this whole fiasco in a nutshell.

  41. Kleat says:

All speculations about Roy Kronk– well, remember that OSCO could have asked him if he would take a polygraph as they asked Jesse Grund and others. We don’t hear about that, but you can bet that LE gave Kronk the choice of a lie detector and you can bet that he took it. Mr. Mark NeJame would likely know about that, maybe even covered his own position of giving the reward money of 5000.00 out of his own earnings when he worked for the Anthony’s.

It’s safe to assume that Roy Kronk had the opportunity to take a polygraph, maybe even one with NeJame. The defense doesn’t tell that, but they don’t brag that Kronk took no poly either to make their point that he should be a suspect.

  42. Kleat says:

But to conspiracy theories, there’s one suspicion only, that I could buy, and that’s the circumstances of OC firing Kronk. He was a liability legal-cost-wise and someone probably got a head’s up that things would get worse, a warning for OC utilities lawyers to find a solution– get rid of the problem. Nothing could ever be proven I’m sure, if one lawyer talked to another to warn of pending escalations of the Kronk issue. And of course, it wasn’t long before that happened.

No wonder OC would wash their hands of the issue, and a plus for defense, is that this is public, helps to paint a picture of Kronk before they do their own thing.

  43. Kleat says:

chica, there’s no way. But still have to wonder how Casey met Baez to have him come in so fast. THAT is the interesting question to me.

  44. Heidi says:

    Ditto Muse!

  45. Kleat says:

Does anyone else think that Leonard Padilla has never been on the fence, although it appears so from his actions (ie Little Econ), that is what he’d want you to think. The best position for him media-wise is for the defense, because he can’t compete with the extensive investigator resources to be the hero now that a real body had been found.

Leonard Padilla supported the defense’s story about a kidnapping and fearful young innocent mother who couldn’t say anything ‘for fear’ and her youthful poor judgement. He became the defense and family’s antagonist, but really, was he just playing his role? He proved no body on a search, his own search on top of all the other searches and this goes to the idea that no body was out there and Caylee was alive. Again, the defense’s story. Padilla was on Baez’s payroll, claimed he wasn’t paid. So his actions could be seen as a disgruntled media person. Again– WHO brought Padilla in. (Baez and his media connections resulted in LP getting involved is my guess– who else?)

And to the family and Casey being upset about the revoked bond. Padilla had to know (or Baez had to know) that once Casey was charged with capital murder of a child, there would be no bond, and wouldn’t the risk of a no-show for Casey be increased if that were about to happen?)

If the LE failed to get a polygraph of Leo P way back when, they surely would have done it when they found those emails between he and his defense cohorts. Doesn’t the email correspondence indicate that Padilla was not in the defense’s bad books, as they would like us to believe, but he was in their pocket all along.

Why would Padilla bring up the daisy chain theory and keep pumping it even now, if he wasn’t siding with the defense? Because that theory will be discredited by the defense, and he knows it.

And I said I wasn’t a conspiracy theorist– well, not when it comes to the defense itself. LP is stringing his lines again last week on NG and NG swallows it hook, line and….

  46. Kleat says:

And remember, the defense never objected to the reveal of Casey’s reaction when she saw the ‘chicken bones’ or whatever that was, in the television report. Good story for the defense, she wasn’t upset– she didn’t think her daughter was dead, so look, she wasn’t even upset, just walked away.

  47. Muse says:

Chica, I absolutely agree with you. At times I’m startled at how closely Cindy’s lies and deception mimic Casey’s – or the other way around. I know my post was slightly off topic, but every now and then I just step back, take in the big picture of lies, and shake my head. Nearly two years since this little cherub’s death, and the charade still goes on. It’s maddening. Someone needs to tell the emperor/empress they’re not wearing any clothes.

Kleat, from the moment Padilla bonded Casey I smelled a skunk. In spite of what he says, and as much as I have wanted to believe in his strategy in outing Casey, his actions and words never seemed to align with one another. Maybe he does good work on other cases, but I haven’t seen it here. Can we really imagine that he erroneously set himself up to be ousted so easily and quickly from the house by Cindy and Casey? I seem to remember that the story is Baez brought him in through some party in New York (?), but I can’t remember the details. I may be wrong.

And yes, one of my many burning questions is who brought Baez on board and under what financial conditions. I never bought Casey’s version.

Thank you chijudy and heidi for your comments.

  48. notagrandma says:

I have always contended that Kronk was not just a dude taking a leak and stumbling upon a body (3X’s) And of course, Dom Casey’s poking around the same site just reinforces that. But I just had this thought for the first time (a new thought? wow!)

If the defense (or anyone on that ‘side’) was somehow connected to the discovery of Caylee’s remains, Casey would have probably been made aware of the impending ‘discovery’…and that would not have caught her off guard, assuming that was what the guard was witnessing when Casey had her reaction to the news. That tape is sealed, so we have to go by the witnesses account, right?

Could there actually be THREE sides to this case? The Prosecution, the Defense, and the Anthonys, who refuse to be subject to/cooperative with either? If anyone knew where she was, it would have been her brother or mother. (George was sitting by the woods grieving, but not by the RIGHT woods) And it was pretty convenient that G & C were in CA when she was found, so they could slither away and hide for a time. And Lee has been hiding ever since.

If you haven’t read what is posted at Topix, you have no idea how ridiculous the charade can be. The accusations vary from day to day. It may be that Jesse or Richard Grund are deeply involved in what happened to Caylee. Most recently, it’s Roy Kronk and all sorts of possible libelous statements. The Casey supporters think that Casey is on the verge of walking because of the defective indictment or the FBI examiner’s DNA on the duct tape.

Mark Nejame is suspect because of his involvement with the Anthonys, Kronk and Tim Miller. Tim Miller has stated on video, that he searched the remains site and Caylee’s body wasn’t there. However, the video has mysteriously disappeared.

The photos of Caylee in the “Big Trouble” T-shirt are not Caylee because of the length of her bangs. The objects from the Anthonys home found with the remains actually came from Ricardo’s apartment.
The remains were not Caylee’s. Caylee’s DNA was cloned and placed in the tibia that was tested. The extra tibia was stolen from the Body Farm.
