Interesting video of Casey after court, she was smiley but upset, trying to make her case to her lawyers it seemed, and continued to make eye moves on her lawyers, deputy had to ‘surround’ her to get her attention off those left behind.

Can’t wait to hear from Ms. Burdick on Sunday– this will be the cream of the trial– TEAM BURDICK!!

  2. KP says:

Unfortunately for Casey I think the Jury will probably disregard all testimony from her family, pro or con. They will hang on to the 911 call, the fact that she never mentioned or reported her daughter missing to ANYONE, lied about the nanny and mostly everything else. Lying does not make you a murderess but it certainly can convict you. If only she had told the truth at some point. Her defense knows she has a personality disorder which made it impossible for them to plead insanity so this is the hand they were dealt. They may be somewhat incompetent but they are not stupid. I think it may have been accidental but her sick brain does not understand the difference between killing someone and spilling milk. In her world, you make a mistake and just move on. Things always worked out for her before and they will now. She has no frame of reference for accountability for anything. She may have planned it, I don’t know. Searches for chloroform may have just been trying to find the best way to drug the baby so she could party. I do not feel sorry for her in any way. I do have some sympathy for her family. I feel sorry for her DT because they probably did their best to extract some kind of plausible scenario from her knowing they had little if nothing to work with. Kind of reminds me of SNL, “Yeah, that’s the ticket”.

One wonders who is Cindy’s God. She raises her right and and says.
“So help me God yes”! What does she not understand about telling the truth in this Orange County Court room? I understand she does not want her daughter to die. However lie she did, and will they now at long last bring any charges against her?

Regarding Mr. JB, I would have to say, Weebles Wobble, and they sometimes fall down – (Contrary to the popular believe ~).
I truly hope this turns out in Caylee’s favor, as it’s deserved. If not here, it will upstairs.

There was a better camera angle when it was actually happening, but she appeared to want to take the document she was reading with her and the deputy said no and the discussion on that continued, even right up to the point of the deputy escorting her to the door. There’s a point when she says to JB . . . I can’t have (or take) anything with me, no.

At about 17 seconds she is making the same gestures that she made on the phone with her parents, when she said something like, “no one is letting me speak” and shook her fists near her face.

I’ve been wondering about what her jail time up to this point has been like. Is it similar to what the big house is going to be like for her?

  6. WPG says:

    Pfnan,

That was very nice of you to say.
Linda Drane Burdick and Yuri Melich brought it for Caylee just right, I thought.

Yes Rollermonkey, this service company has a setup with their computers that does not allow internet connections from the computer in the cubicle.

Someone in the Florida location may have the capability to get on the internet. This would be the manager or the local IT guy if they have one.

Cindy could not search from work. Cindy didn’t do the searches, Casey did. Casey set up a seperate password protected account on the home computer and used Firefox II as the browser. The forensics IT people found it on the hard drive.

Casey deleted the files and the user account after her mother called 911 and after the police arrived. Unfortunately for Casey, she really didn’t know how files were managed by the operating system regarding deletions. She thinks she is one of the smartest people around, but real knowledge takes time to acquire. Far longer than she has been on the planet.

In todays rebutal case, the Orange County deputy responsible for some of the computer searches spoke of using three different tools to examine the drive. One of these tools is a low level hexadecimal scanner that can be found in several utility packages. Peter Norton in his Norton Utilities was the first to make such a utility available for use on personal computers using the IBM PC configuration.

  8. A Texas Grandfather says:

The closing arguments by the prosecution will be real interesting to watch. Will Linda Burdick or Jeff Ashton do the close?

The real question is what will the defense present in their close. They certainly did not present anything concrete during their case that comes anywhere close to the opening statements.

What will the prosecution do with the perjured testimony of Cindy Anthony?

  9. c10 says:

Hey Blinkers, one and all! Team Burdick, Ashton, and George!!!!all in their own way have worked tirelessly for Caylee and her deserved justice – CHEERS to them for a job well done! i suspect we will all be in tears as closing statement is made, Sooo many good hearted people happened together, be it fate, for our little girl Caylee… if for a brief moment in time, she’s lucky to have so many random people come together to see this thru for HER!

  10. Mom3.0 says:

I cant believe it is almost in the hands of the jury.

I am not sad, I am not excited – although I impatiently await closing arguments. I feel almost calm, perhaps numb- strange.

I do not know what the jurors are feeling, or what they will decide, or even if they will be able to reach an unanimous decision. Who knows what evidence they deemed important? But I am at peace with leaving Caylee’s justice, and Casey’s fate in their hands. My prayers are with them.

It is amazing how much information/evidence the jury never got to hear or see…or even to smell.

I understand why some things were left out- too prejudicial, hearsay, definite/probable appellate issues ect ect…

This is the first time I have ever watched the judicial system from start to end of trial…its never really over, as there is so much more after a verdict is read, appeals ect…….

I learned so much, and not all I heard or saw or read or learned gave me confidence in our judicial system, our Lady Justice.

I learned she is flawed, and if not helped along, by upstanding, professionals, she falters and can be easily mislead, or manipulated.

I learned that getting to the truth, is not always of upmost importance, but I also learned that nomatter what obstacles are thrown in front of her, no matter how flawed she is- she tries her best to protect the innocent, and punish the guilty.

I just wanted to say thanks to all of you for sharing your thoughts, and feelings and humor.

Thank you Blink for always being here to help us make sense of it all, and for always trying to help Lady Justice along, oh and for doing it with humor and snark- when appropriate.

In other words Blink, thanks for BOC. No matter what the verdict, I am happy to know we all were here, together, for Caylee.

    AJMO
    Peace

That we are, together, here for Caylee. I am really proud of this group, thanks for letting me hang as always.

On a lighter note, Mr. Blink thought it would be a good idea to have a yard sale this weekend.
Thought you would get a kick of that. WTH is wrong with people? LOL

Claudia, in response to your post re: cindy’s God, i’m not sure who her God is but i would hope she has asked for forgiveness before she attempted to do anything/everything she could to try to save her daughter’s life – i’m sure a long time ago she came to terms with what she, in her mind, had to do, i hope her God forgives her, remember she has to live the rest of her life with the choices she’s made – this is so messed up no matter how you look at it, sad, very very sad all around

KP I have to respectively disagree with your statement- “I think it may have been accidental but her sick brain does not understand the difference between killing someone and spilling milk.”

You don’t mop up a glass of spilled milk and throw the towel out in the swamp for the animals to tear apart. She knew what she did was wrong. She covered up her crime- that’s one of the biggest indicators of non insanity. I’m not saying she’s normal, but personality disorders don’t make you insane. Anyway, just my humble opinion.

Having known and observed a brilliant narcissist over a period of years, who exhibited the most convoluted and vindictive of thinking, one might rethink Cindy Anthony’s labeled “protective” maternal behavior, the perjuring of herself relative to the chloroform searches.

It appears brutally obvious to me that she knew her lies would be exposed by the Gentiva administration, thereby making her a publicly exposed liar, leaving without doubt, Casey as the guilty party. What then her purpose you say? The covert payback to Casey in a manner that continues to leave her, Cindy as a sympatric victim, a hero, the martyred mother, and the grieving grandmother, a perfect set-up. But the question remains, is the payback for Caylee’s death, or the attempt at exposing the family secrets, or George as an abuser? I think not for Caylee. Sweet revenge, Cindy, the root narcissist.

I have observed just such incredible, covert vindictiveness that no normal person could wrap their head around. I am still years later incredulous.

Blink How are you holding up? I am here for you..

I am shopping for my Mama doll tomorrow. I may put her in my office, or I may sleep with her for a few days as a 42 year old mom of 2 married lady. I may put her in bed with our babes so she smells like them.

will be able to come to a conclusion that means JUSTICE for precious
Caylee. I dont envy what they have to do. This is definitely going to
be a 4th of July they will remember, and talk about for years to come.
Cant help but be a little snarky here, when I say that its not going to be too upsetting not to have to see ICA stick out her assets anymore, or make googly eyes at her male attys. Also, no more chances
to advertise for money to be added to her jail acct. from idiot male or female groupies that think shes such a jewel. Nope, she wont be a star in the bighouse, quite the contrary. Kudos to you Blink, what a

Loved your post. I have thought as you do many times during this case. That Mumsy was going to eventually “get” Sweetheart.

I have since decided against Cindy hatching any revenge schemes against Casey because she let Casey steal thousands of dollars from her. I don’t think even the Christian martyts would go that far in some kind of narcissistic torture. While I agree that Cindy is a narcissist of the first order and everything ultimately has to be about her, Cindy seems kind of dumb to let Casey’s stealing practically bankrupt her.

I don’t think Cindy wants her daughter to die. It’s not good for her reputation and her future book tour. And talk about dumb, again — how is lying on the stand going to make people read your book telling the “truth” of the case?

I do admit that Cindy loves to get in her zingers at Casey as in their discussion about Cindy’s “cameos” early on. Cindy definitely basking in the sunlight of the media and Casey hidden in jail and having no access to the talking heads. But Cindy determinded and dedicated to planning to even the score with Casey? Cindy’s crafty, but she doesn’t seem quite that bright.

The real question is what will the defense present in their close?
    ****************************************
I think Cheney Mason may have at least partially telegraphed their closing arguments at the end of court today.

In his appeal to the judge for an acquittal he emphasized/lied about/exaggerated the following:
No convincing evidence (or conflicting evidence) that there were significant amounts of chloroform in the car trunk.
“The duct tape was on the “side” of the skull proves nothing.”
Reiterate the defense’s position that the “Body Farm” testimony was based on junk science.

agreed, and has overpromised and underdelivered

Hi, I started watching HLN but their commercials seemed to come at the important times something was being said on the stand. I switched to live streaming video, split screen on WFTV.com. If you click on the Casey Anthony trial site a few times you will not have the commercials. Sometimes I click to many times and get an echo. Then I have to click on the sound icon, a green vertical sound bar appears to the right of the frame where Casey usually is. Lower that bar to minus and then you have the picture and one sound channel with no commercials. Hope I am making sense.

Thank you to Blink and all who are here. Justice for Caylee.

  32. Angellica says:

This is what pi$$es me off about the Anthony family. They think the rest of us are stupid enough to believe their lies. Now it’s “she never said she made those searches on those dates. She told the truth.” BS! Newsflash Cindy, chlorophyll was NOT on the hard drive. I guess narcissism is genetic too.

  33. chelsea says:

@IBE – I have watched from day one on http://www.wftv.com and I am in the UK. I very rarely get any commercials, not sure why. You are right about the sound, the top video is on the Court and the bottom permanently on Casey. The two sounds get slightly out of sinc so I usually just lower the bar on one. I really like the infill wftv does with Bill Shaeffer and ?Greg; usually when there is a side bar or lunch recess. Everything you want to know (legally) is virtually covered during these times and Bill has even added his own thoughts to the blog. When I first started watching, there was roughly 13,000 bloggers and I had quite a few thoughts and questions posted but by the time yesterday came it was well over 100,000!! I am really looking forward to the Pros. closing statement but what the heck am I going to do after next week!!

  34. Kleat says:

Very clever release of the Casey at 5 years old, beautifully timed and paralleled with Casey ‘acting’ to bring home her testimony of the past court weeks– tesimony that she is a ‘child’, diminuatively in her chair,

It’s not about the side-by-side ‘still’ shots, it was a beautifully set up and on Casey’s part ‘acted’ after-court moment where she would have likely been angry inside at someone, instead, she played her part with animation, smiles and eyes knowing full well that the camera always settles on her at the end of the day.

Beautifully played by the defense and it’s consultants, to orchestrate the release of the ‘young Casey’ speaking and animated at a party. The connection is going to be made in the public mind.

Not that the jury has seen any of this.

Henny says @ 8:16 pm July 1, 2011 – “I’ve been wondering about what her jail time up to this point has been like. Is it similar to what the big house is going to be like for her?”

Even though jail has been her home for the past 3 yrs, it is only a temporary set-up. Most inmates in jail spend up to a year at the most while they go to court. Of course there are rules and regulations that inmates have to abide by. Casey has been carefully placed in the jail for her own protection. She probably has to rec on her own, and is carefully watched if she is out of her cell. When she goes to prison, she will most likely be placed for her own protection again, until things quiet down and she eases into her new home. She will be watched closely for a time to see if she is suicidal. She won’t be in protective custody for long. There are others like her who are doing time for the same heinous crimes. She will strive to be put in general population – ready to leave her lonely life of seclusion. She will probably be a model inmate – as she has been for the past 3 yrs. She will spend her days in law-library, working on her appeals and striving for a new trial. This will consume her time. She will adjust, and Caylee will not be mourned as she does her time.

Casey and her attorney (JB) approached this trial with all the hate that is in her soul for her parents. It was set-up as an attack on her parents in order to bring them down. That is why it will blow up in their faces and she will be convicted of the heinous crime she committed to get back at them. If she gets any appeals, or wins a new trial, her new attorneys will have to approach their strategy without all the emotional baggage of this trial.

If JB did not have an inappropriate relationship with his client, he could have been more objective and may have been able to impose reasonable doubt much more easily. But he was caught up in revenge too and it is very apparent. As we near the end of this trial, this is my take-away.

  39. Fiona says:

The jury now knows the “root narcissist” (thank you Katt) lied on the stand. Some talking heads are saying the “root narcissist” was trying to save the “spawn narcissist” from the DP. The jury doesn’t know everything “we” know. A jurist could draw the same conclusion. IMO that is saying to jury “My daughter is guilty, I lied to save her life.

Mark Lippman must be under the “Root Narcissist” spell. To see this woman in action shows the “spawn” is a mini me. I will say it again, DT went after the wrong parent.

I have always believed a higher power-karma-God has been ever so diligent in guiding justice and peace for this baby. All the way down to guiding Baez being the defense attorney, showing us the “higher being” has given the “spawn” what she deserves in an attorney or he/she has a great sense of humor. I apologize if anyone takes offense.

  42. New Bee says:

We are so close to getting justice for Caylee and yes the power of GOD is certainly at play here. Why else would there be only 1 hair with a death band in the car? What are the odds? That car had been cleaned out and aired out and still the one single hair remained and the odor (because Cindy used febreeze and not smelleeze lol)The hawk to symbolize seeking the truth. Many many more things but I think that even juror #4 that cannot judge will look to GOD for the answer and will get it.

As for CA IMO her lying was not an elaborate plan to get back at Casey. Casey is already on death row no way CA can punish her now. She should have punished her as a child. They do not think beyond the lies. She lied to try to save her daughter and she thought she could get away with it. Even in her testimony she stated that she just did not think they would have her e-mail info 3 years later otherwise she could tell the truth. KC did not think beyond her lies either.

And as for the book deal I saw somewhere where CA claims it is not going to be a book about the truth (lol) but will be about finding missing children. Personally I would not buy either one. I do not want to buy anything that would line their pockets from this tragedy. She claims to have lost money instead of making money from this but has not returned to work since 7/08. Casey has gotten 275K so far. No claims to want to set up any type of funds or scholarship in Caylees honor. disgusting.

Happy Saturday everyone, how does this work, after closing arguements, does the Judge give the jury the instructions and they immediately go back and start deliberating? sorry i’m sure it’s been mentioned, i just don’t remember… yes Blink it’s perfect timing for a yard sale! sounds like something my hubby would come up with!Ha! good luck finding your own Mama doll, i see them everywhere around where i am, our daycare has a couple and Now it’s even sweeter to watch the little ones loving on them! they are usually naked or half dressed too!so cute…

My Blinkette has two, one is Lindsey and the other Lauren. Recently, we were doing the “empty out the closets” thing, and she told me it was time to pass them onto her cousin. They never made it out the door.

If I died tomorrow, and the last image I saw was of Blinkette with her Lindsey and Blink Jr with his Larry, sleeping in their beds, I would go gentle into the good night if it was God’s will, with a smile on my face and peace in my heart.

I think maybe on this emotional day, I have realized why we fight so hard for Caylee, and other victims.

I have and will never get over that in Caylee’s dark hour, she was not with her Mama doll, or her Teddy.
Obviously, that is the readers digest version of what haunts me in this case.

If that does not snap one into advocacy, I have no business in this work. Over the last 3 years, this child has changed my lifepath and career focus in a profound way; I no longer believe in coincidences.

I am indeed surprised by my own level of anxiety and emotion as we approach closings and deliberation tomorrow.

I can tell you exactly where I was, and what I was doing the moment I learned who Caylee Anthony was and heard this sweet cherubs voice.

I thank the heavens, I thank any animate or inanimate object that will have me, that I was not born Casey Marie Anthony.

I do not even know how long the list would be of why.

Sorry again for the “long way round”, but earlier today at Mr. Blink’s impromptu yardsale, I met a young girl named Skyler, who was autistic. Her Mom let her pick out a game, and in about 10 seconds, she wandered out to my back deck, and shortly thereafter, jumped on a scooter headed for the street.

I am telling you this because I was so humbled by the fact that this child, with special needs, is so loved by her Mom, that she walked down our driveway and said this is Skyler, she is autistic, so we are looking for something special I would like her to pick out.

Privately, and with her Mom’s permission, I offered her the mirror that used to hang in Blinkette’s room as a child.

A telescope for her treehouse she is allowed to sit in during the day with her caregiver, or visiting friend.

I wanted her to know of her beauty, and of her spirit and how that girl inspired my entire family to care for her and her safety in 5 minutes without judgement- they never batted an eye. When I explained her challenges when they left, they were like- we just thought she wanted to see our house. We have this one kid in homeroom….

My point is, any parent of a special needs child, will tell you, that it is a blessburdonjoy. I made that up, but as I have worked with them, I feel I can.

At the end of this, I just want to understand, so that any future Casey’s of the world do as well, why a precious child regardless of (X) is not just that, at a mother’s essence. Do I sound simple? Unblink-like?

On this answer, I have none.

I am truly grateful to the honorable men and women in our Justice system. I have only tesified for DUIs. What an awesome responsibility the Jury has.

I am shopping for my Mama doll tomorrow. I may put her in my office, or I may sleep with her for a few days as a 42 year old mom of 2 married lady. I may put her in bed with our babes so she smells like them.

But I will honor Miss Caylee, regardless of the outcome of this case, I have decided. Thank you for your kindness.

B, this is one of the reasons I have so much respect, and yes, love for you, though we’ve never met.
Not only are you intelligent and beautiful, you wear your heart on your shoulder – and there also sit the angels you have advocated for through the years. You bring tears to my eyes with your compassion so deeply ingrained in your psyche.
Caylee is smiling as she perches on your shoulder, singing “you are my sunshine”!

Thank you dearest friend, back at ya, as you know.

LOL Blink about the garage sale…in your husbands defense I must point out that sometimes they become our heroes just by keeping our mind off things…although He certainly could have chosen a fun endeavor LOL-
Besides as you so eloquently said there is a reason for everything…if you had not had the garage sale today you never would have met young Skyler, and never would have shared that uplifting reminder, nor she never would have met you –

Its amazing how one life can touch so many others, even in the briefest encounters…like little Caylee, and sadly even Casey too.

I hope you will take a pic of your momma doll and share it with us Blink. Its been a long time coming.

    Hugs

You are so right Mom 3.0-

It just struck me right now the little girl’s name, I should say, she called her Skye, I made the assumption her name was Skyler.

You know I will take a pic of Mama Doll. I decided against shopping for her pre-verdict.. Superstition set in.

Hugs back, sorry for my elevated emotion today, it is a hard lesson to learn that it is ok not to have answers to everything and that it can just “be”.

    Tabloid crump.

Her own parents did not know her capabilities, for an extended family member, many years removed, to weigh in, imo, is disingenuous.
