Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

That’s good to know about JF being mistaken in regard to Kyron’s doctor appointment eval. I was referring to Ms. Schreiber’s comment that she was helping her child fill out an evaluation form, apparently on his science project, on “hectic” Friday and so wasn’t paying much attention to the people around her. I was wondering what that particular form was for. She specified Friday, so I’m guessing she didn’t mix up Thurs for Friday. IDK, just curious.

Hello Blink, posters and observers, it’s been a while since I’ve commented but I’ve been following along the whole time. Outstanding work by all!

TMH, I was wondering if you could elaborate on the statement that you made about Kyron acting strangely prior to his disappearance. If I remember correctly you said he been acting strangely, forgetting things, staring off into space and were planning to take him to the doctor for possible seizures. Now looking back do you still think seizures were the cause or do you think something else going on? Also, did Kaine notice the strange behavior or did you have to point it out to him? Did he feel he was having seizures as well?

    Hello NC!

Great questions which I cover in my piece.

I found this current letter to Skyline parents interesting, particularly the second paragraph about behavior issues.

    August, 2014
    Dear Skyline Parents,

Historically we have had overload issues on the bus that serves Skyline School which travels along Highway 30 and picks up on both sides of the busy Highway. Many families from the North Portland area transfer into Skyline and take their student(s) across the bridge to catch the bus at the Linnton Community Center or at the stop at Hwy 30 and 105th Ave. In fact, the majority of the students who use those stops are transfer students who do not live in the Skyline Attendance area.

During the 2013-14 school year, the overload condition and the long bus ride contributed to increasing incidents of unsafe behaviors and bullying. Transportation met with parents and school staff in late January to discuss concerns and possible solutions. Families expressed the desire to see their children remain at Skyline School and the hardship that removing transportation would have on their families.

School districts in Oregon are only required to provide bus services to students who attend their neighborhood school and live outside of the walking area. Portland Public Schools does allow students who would not normally be eligible to receive bus service through the “hitcher” process. Through the past years, the District has worked to accommodate as many hitchers as possible. A larger bus was provided to allow for more students to ride. The hitcher policy has not been strictly enforced. However, the capacity of even the larger bus can no longer accommodate the number of students wishing to receive service.

The District has investigated several options that could be implemented for the 2014-15 School Year. Several options were discussed during the parent meeting. The District will offer the following options to Skyline families. We are hoping to provide safe options for families that do not create a financial burden and remove dollars that could be used in classrooms.

    1. Control the authorized hitchers on Route 147 to ensure the safety of students.
•Students who live in the Skyline attendance area would receive first preference for route 147 including those who are in childcare at Linnton Community Center.
•Choice students from outside of the Skyline attendance area who attend Linnton Community Center for childcare would receive the second consideration for assignment to route 147.
•If there is additional room on the bus, choice students who are riding the bus as hitchers will be allowed to ride.
•Currently there are approximately 24 eligible students who reside along route 147. There is additional capacity for an estimated 30 students.

2.Add an additional stop to an existing route that has capacity for additional students.
•After the safe capacity of route 147 has been reached, additional choice students will be assigned to route 144 and route 121.
•Students would arrive to HWY 30 and SW 105th Av at approximately 7:30a on route 144 and 4:15p on route 121.
•Route 144 and route 121 currently have room to transport an estimated additional 20 students.

    3. Accommodate hitchers at stops on other bus routes to Skyline School.
•Families can choose to use an existing stop on other bus routes serving Skyline School.
•Some choices include: Route 144 – 9181 NW Germantown Rd
    Route 146 – 6936 NW Skyline Blvd
•Please contact routing if you need assistance finding an existing bus stop to use.

I’ll tell you exactly what well-intended (really) person does that.
A person Desiree invited to Roseburg to join her in front of Teri’s house and to make posters, share coffee, and write hare speech on the street with chalk. To further stalk Teri physically in Roseburg. Who reads all Stacey writes, allegedly, and communicates with her privately, allegedly. Who relies on her for fundraising advertising. Who relied on her to decirate and clean up theWall and release balloons. Who has invited and employed her on physical searches.
And whohas informed her she knows personally from mcso that Teri and DDS are guilty and lie (as she has repeatedly told the public). I heard D Faenthold on npr today citing an instance where Lewindowski told a documented lie (about giving); I don’t hold the well-intended Corey responsible, but the person who gave him instructions. Ditto wrt Soldier’s FB–the “volunteer WITH the family.”

I guess nature abhors a vacuum. I’ll get in line for our group interview of Terri. I would like to hear human interest stories about kyron the person. Imo that’s what’ll pressure MCSO to openly use the Skyline area public, transparently, to locate SZ if possible. Both bios are exceptionally competitive with Teri and want to paint her in the worst possible light. That would prod them into opening up about kyron and “the investigation” as well. it seems to me she can tell as many personally observed anecdotes of kyron as she wants without violating any RO or waiving a 5th, unlike answering Qs about that morning. As to other matters, Blink is credible as I understand she multisources and corroborates. If we’re going to interview Teri, we just have Teri. Which is better than the bios’ silence, or their spar duck bob and weave, about anything important about kyron.

Poor woman moved from her husband’s post in 2010 to Calif, to GA, where her eldest child, a beautiful autistic girl, died in 2012 in a freak accident. Took about 2 minutes to validate this often online mother was who she posted as on Dr Phil. She resides in military housing. Soldier posted a screen shot where she said she lived nearby Skyline and heard about this case often in 2010, and biomom was a “known druggie.” Idk why Soldier would photo and disseminate that slur other than she also posted it’s the school’s fault. The woman’s husband is a Major whose career is military intelligence.

You are associating yourselves, and making money from her ads, from the mutterings of the voice of evil.

Yes Sackman lived in CA, she said in 2011. By 2012 she was in GA. Her military intelligence husband moved often. When they resided in 2010 “within 50 mi” of Skyline Lauren said, my suspicion due to her husband’s postings was Ft Lewis WA, a bit farther away. What she has done is propose Federal legislation, “Hannah Alert,” for missing special needs children–that an alert goes out immediately without establishing an abduction occurred. That woukd’ve benefitted Kyron at 4 pm on June 4. Imo his vision alone qualified him, if the Dad controlling the medical records coukd bring himself to say Kyron had special needs. Lauren says the GA delegation supports this legislation. What have you done to enlist the OR delegation, or Soldier to enlist Washington’s to promote a “Hannah Alert” for missing childtren with special needs? .

Oh God, no. Michelle has called up many times and screamed at us. But IÕm not the only reporter who knew this stuff. When I went down and checked out files from the Clackamas County Courthouse, I found that The Oregonian had already checked them out months ago. They knew all this stuff. In fact, if you read their early stories, they drop little hints here and there, you know, “Both of their fathers have had encounters with the law,” weird shit like that. So they knew this stuff and chose not to pursue it. And the TV people know all the stuff that everybody else knows, and theyÕre reporting less than everyone else.

    http://blinkoncrime.com/2012/11/27/kyron-horman-missing-civil-suit-against-terri-horman-delayed-and-sealed/comment-page-75/

“Sources tell KATU News, Terri Horman led Kyron’s teacher to believe he had a doctor’s appointment that Friday morning. He didn’t. Kaine says Terri had been focused on Kyron’s spaciness.

“I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary,” he says. “I wasn’t concerned about it at all.”

Kaine says Terri was the one who was pushing Kyron to a doctor to be checked out.

Kaine attributed the staring spells to sleep deprivation. In the weeks leading up to Kyron’s disappearance, the baby – Kiara – had been dealing with an ear infection. He says her crying at night was keeping the whole family up, especially Kyron, whose room is right across the hall.

Bonamici got the official delegation to Peres’ funeral privilege.

  30. rose says:

Noticing Simon is married to Bonamici led me back to Bonneville, then to Skyline in 09-10.

He was first sent to the Senate (Wyden/Obama) in 2010 & didn’t maje it. Re-sent in 2011, and goidness knows how he got thru that time bcz he is way way way to tge left of most Dems (well maybe not Oregon’s), and he had no judicial experience or record. Like to see the vites Wyden and Or delegation gave Obama to get this guy nominated, as imo he’s not the President’s judicial style. Then the Or delegation must’ve dine some real vote trading in 2011 with Republicans to get this guy thru.

So I looked up his work & this url appears on google p1. A decision Ancer Haggerty would not have made.
    ://usobserver.com/archive/july-16/federal-judge-michael-simon-denies-disabled-woman-legal-counsel.htm
Makes a decision on the merits whike without representation! “Even assuming, however, that plaintiff can demonstrate that she is indigent, her motion is denied… legal issues involved in this case are not of substantial complexity…” Judge Simon continued, “Additionally, at this stage of the proceeding, Plaintiff has yet to demonstrate a likelihood of success on the merits…Denied”

So I wondered what ELSE he is doing for Bonneville.

I saw the salmon and sea lion cases. & He appears very liberal, but imo in reality I felt he was stalling the cases to avert some expenses to Bonneville re dams etc.

Then, he had to recuse himself (see next link). Ties to Bonnevikle outlined, mainly thru wife who put herself on Senate Committee wrt Waterways etc–handkes the appropriations that fund utilities like Bonneville in construction & improvements. Her campaign donor lists from utility or energy PACs might be interesting.

    http://www.usobserver.com/archive/aug-16/disabled-woman-seeks-justice.htm

Anyway, with a Federal Judge and House member directly impacting Oregon as friends, and members of Beth Israel and the connectivity that implies, it seems to me Bonneville has more political clout in Portland than nike columbia ir intel. Certainly over mcda/so and pps.

That gets back to the fact Bonneville had contractors, project mg, & a classroom drop by teacher re solar project in and out of Skyline in 09-10. Solar in schools was just getting ramped up inState (began in OR about 2002); so important to Cylvia, and the donations of installed panels so important to PPS. However likely in the Spring of the 2010 school year, solar was ruled out. Electric panel box in tge barn woukd cost too much to upgrade. So there was a switch to wind. Turbine was installed spring 2011, so likely that was worked up 2010-early’11. A different nonprofit co handled the wind turbine, provided the drop by teacher with class curriculum spot appearances. That company, out of MN, was Kidwind Project. Here is a resume if a recent OR rep, idk who their OR rep was in 2010-11:

    T. Ruth’s comments about the school bus arraignment made me think about what often happens on a school bus where a bully picks on younger and smaller children. Many districts have been forced to put video cameras on school buses to try and stop it. Could this type of behavior been one of Kyron’s problems? Does anyone know if the actual bus Kyron rode to school and back had a camera?

I found the maintenance and service manual for your HP computer. The hardware is good with a fast processor and plenty of memory. The network interface chip is a Realtek RTL817EH with gigabit speed. The operating system as originally installed is 64 bit Windows 7. There are four USB ver. 2.0 ports on the rear and 2 USB ver 3.0 ports on the left side. The 3.0 ports are very fast.

Your video connection should have been via the coax connector on the back. It is a screwed connection and is very secure when installed properly. Your internet connection is via an RJ45 connection over a cat 5 or later cable. Real gigabit speeds require a cat 6 or 6A cable.

Windows 7 is a stable version that has a lot of extras that are seldom used. The processor speed is almost three times that of an Apple 5 or 5S iPhone. The 6 series iPhone is a little faster.

I suspect that the touch system software for the screen is the culprit for slowing down the screen access. It probably can be turned off. The listed keyboard is a wireless design as is the mouse. These could be replaced with a USB connection into one of the four 2.0 ports on the back.

Screen response on the computer is never going to match the response of the phone. Apple uses ARM V7, V8 and V11 reduced instruction set processors as the core CPU. These are integrated into the main chip that has been customized by the Apple engineers for the OSx operating system. OSx is closely coupled with the hardware of the phone. It is a version of Unix written in the C language. It has probably been further sped up by the use of assembly language in critical areas.

Recent tests by PC Magazine found that the average speed of LTE (generation 4) phone systems across 13 cities is 3.5 Mbs. In rural areas that speed will be a long time coming. My speed via satellite tests at 17Mbs as of mid-afternoon yesterday. After midnight, the speed is often as high as 39Mbs.

Your browser for the computer may be holding you back. Internet Explorer was never really fast. Firefox and Opera are both faster. Microsoft has released a new browser for Windows 10 named Edge.

Yesterday I found a new browser named Brave that is written by the gentleman that invented the Java language and was instrumental in building Firefox. He was forced out of Firefox by the Political Correct crowd over the same sex marriage issue. He is going to use his expertise to compete with them. Releases of Brave have been for the PC and iPad. He may have a version soon for the iPhone since the chipset for the Pad and Phone are similar.

Does anyone think maybe Kyron saw some ‘behaviors’ at home that he wasn’t supposed to see, maybe was corrected by participating adults – but still confusing to a widdle kiddle.

No one thinks he might have been abused in any way, do they?

Since Kaine’s brother was involved in abuse, does anyone think Kaine might also have been involved, or affected – and would Kyron have been the victim of any of this?

Hello Blink, posters and observers, …… I was wondering if you could elaborate on the statement that you made about Kyron acting strangely prior to his disappearance.

  41. Red Rose says:

Whatever happened to David Durham? Anybody know?
Whatever happened to David Durham’s dog? (Kind of like “follow the money”…) Anybody know?
How about his relatives on Sauvie Island? Has anybody been interested enough to consider they might know more than they want to share?

Is everybody absolutely totally positively sure that the groundskeeper at Kyron’s school is totally not involved in any way? Does he have any kind of history that might make one wonder?

LE doesn’t seem to be on top of any of this as much as the Blinkers are.

…and the teacher from one of the local schools who lost his job – the guy with the name change? I forgot who (so many names to remember…) Is he in jail now? I still personally think he looks just like the man in the photo with the schoolkids at the school, even thought his face isn’t showing.

How come so many of these characters get a free pass?

  42. N. Cahela says:

Red Rose, I was wondering about possible abuse as well. If nothing else, split time between the two homes could be emotionally draining on a young child. Was Kyron starting to wonder why his biological mother didn’t want him full time(especially with him crying for her after returning from an extended stay)?

With KH always working, the steroid use, a new baby that was getting a lot of the attention, the marital problems between KH/TH, going back and forth between the two homes (which I’m sure had a separate set of rules, etc.), it’s no wonder Kyron was suffering. Could someone have befriended Kyron, made him feel special, wanted, loved, safe, secure? Which made it easy for him to walk out of the school with them that day? Maybe they had been planning it for a long time…maybe they promised to take him to DY. I also wonder if someone was drugging him or if steroids were being used, were there other drugs in the house that he could have gotten ahold of?

    @Rose

Your discussions about the solar and wind turbine stuff, made me want to go back and read some of what we’d discussed years ago, so I googled it. Is it a coincidence that it is all gone……via the DAD thread? All that’s left out there of our many discussions is this thread below, which now makes me wonder even more, just who was this poster named Troll, who brought it up 2 years later, when we hadn’t even been discussing it recently? We corrected the poster’s error (and B spoke her mind), but looking back it almost seems that this poster “Troll”, was overly concerned in defending the wind turbine contractors. Why?

    Here’s the post:

    Troll says:

You say you don’t guess, but the comments posted are riddled with guesses that are off base and simply wrong. One case in point is the string of comments that talk of the contractors for the wind turbine and their possible involvement.

A little reading from a Google search of the Skyline wind turbine shows that project wasn’t done in 2010, but in 2011. This is the type of thing that I am referring to.

I have most assuredly not read all 200000 comments, but I have read thousands, enough to have made an observation that you clearly think you could solve this case…. So do it. We would all love to know what really happened. The notion you don’t guess is ridiculous, as any person who works a crime from any angle has to make some guesses, they are just educated ones.

Good luck in your continued altruistic endeavor to solve this thing. It would be great if you let us all know when you have it all worked out.

You may refer to me as a troll if you like, but at least I am not blinded by my own greatness to the point of passing myself of as the all knowing on this topic.

I kept some notes on this subject, so I’m going to go back and see if I can find them.

    Titch:
Just an observation, looking from a different angle, also trying to be thorough… If Tanner’s recollection of Kyron leaving to go downstairs to see a “cool electric project” is correct, and considering that it was a Science Fair day in a school that gets help from outside Sci sponsors, I wonder if any of the below companies had representatives at the school on June 4, 2010. (Note the small print paragraph. I wonder if such a “kiosk” was set up & available during last year’s Science Fair.)

Northwest Portland: Skyline School installs wind turbine
    Published: Monday, March 28, 2011, 12:00 PM
    By Molly Hottle, The Oregonian

On Monday, Skyline School in Northwest Portland will be the first school in Portland Public Schools to install a wind turbine, which will be used to power about 3 percent of the school’s energy.
Students will watch workers install the 90-foot-tall tower at 1 p.m., at the school, 11536 NW Skyline Blvd. The turbine is expected to be operating at 2:45 p.m. You can view the installation progress on the Solar 4R Schools website.

Inside the school, an interactive kiosk will show how the turbine is working and what it is doing.
Supporting the project are Bonneville Environmental Foundation’s Solar4R Schools Program, Xzeres Wind of Wilsonville, Andersen Electric, Northwest Environmental Defense Council, the Energy Trust of Oregon and Oregon Department of Energy’s Business Energy Tax Credit.

MBS is the expert on Mother Keefer
who iirc was a highly respected PPS employee.
    ———————————-

Here is my post from 4 years ago – (not really an expert, but thanks for the thought, Rose)

    Rose says:

Keefer’s mother is a 65 yo Portland principal:
    http://www.linkedin.com/pub/stevie-newcomer/11/2a1/98a?_mSplash=1
    http://www.mylife.com/c-1364603411
She’s an MSW and formerly coordinated deug prevention for PPS (likely formerly a counselor?)
    http://www.marijuanalibrary.org/OADAP_1994_youths_091395.html
now it’s more understandable a counselor got promoted to Skyline principal this year.
She worked with interesting populations. Principal arpound 2006ff at Paulng Academy, Roosevelt High. Was at Metropolitan Learning Ctr. I wonder if her high school students, or their parents, knew where her son was principal, and if any had an axe to grind?

People talk about Maxine & Lynn, but Jennifer wrote lots of articles, snips here from google search of her name:
    ———————————————————

Re Stevie Newcomer – I never knew she was Ben Keefer’s mother. Worked with her, respect her work. She’s a very caring, competent person. Your “axe to grind” suggestion is a good thought, but in my experience, the populations she worked with, including parents, would have been much more direct and “in the moment” if they wanted to retaliate about something, which of course, does happen.

Coming from working in the culture of PPS, I’ve personally never seen Ben Keefer’s move as a promotion. As far as moving into administration, then yes, a wide variety of experiences are helpful, but not essential. A lot of administrators would not particularly desire to go to that middle school or any on “that” side of town, so I suppose it would be a good move in that sense. I loved working where I did because my passion was for counseling kids who didn’t have the opportunity to get that help any other way. The middle school he moved to would certainly have different needs from Skyline, but not necessarily different long term goals. Keefer may have wanted to go there for a variety of reasons and the same with PPS offering it.

Counseling isn’t a frequent path to administration according to my observations, but those I know that went that direction became good administrators. Administration just seems to need a different frame of mind, the willingness to sit in “endless” meetings, and the patience to listen to a lot of other administrators talking, etc. I prefer listening to kids.

Re Jennifer Anderson – I have always liked her. She works for the Portland Tribune and was one of the few who reported fairly on the school and students where I worked. She was willing to follow up on our successes instead of only the negatives that always attracted the most attention. The other papers listed are also owned by the Tribune owners. I think she is very caring and would do a great job with a Kyron follow-up story, although I don’t know to what degree she is a risk taker or has the contacts Maxine has.

  48. A Texas Grandfather says:

That is a low tower for the wind turbine. If only 3 percent of the power used by the school is going to be supplied, it must be in the hundreds of kilowatts range rather than megawatt. More government money for green energy.

Is there any information about the installed costs and the expected payout? What about storage or grid connections of the surplus energy during non-school hours?

Typical of soldier and her army of morons.

They basically sound like the usual bunch of angry people who need to resort to foul language and threats in order to be able to communicate anything all. Most of the posters on the soldier site are not even worth ignoring. Its to bad this clueless group of angry people need to harass other internet posters with their misinformed messages of hate and intolerance.

    IMO
Facebook is totally irresponsible for allowing the kind of harassment and hate posting that drives the soldier site.

It was erected in 2011, but designed and planned in 2010.
It is fair play to ask if BEF, SolarforSchools or Kidwind brought their teaching materials into classrooms as was well advertsed to be part of their contractor mission, or displayed at the SF on 6/3 or 6/4. Everyone in that school 6/3 or 6/4 is ruled in til ruled out. Someone who resents the Q is unusual imo, unless it’s someone resentful if any spotlight elsewhere than on Teri.
