Dr. Phil Show Hosts Missing Portland Child Kyron Horman’s Step Mom Terri Horman Over Two Episodes

I have been covering this case since Kyron Horman disappeared from Skyline School in June, 2010.    Like most missing persons cases I have covered in the past,  I am of the strong opinion that best efforts at the truth are the only way to propel investigations that, similarly to Kyron’s, have gone cold for one reason or another.   This approach has worked in resolving some of my previous cases.    I am proud of that.  I remain steadfast to the integrity involved in those and future cases.

Over the past 10 months (or so) I have been developing an updated series on Kyron’s case to include my multiple interviews with Kyron’s step-mom,  Terri Horman.   Needless to say as she was the subject of at least three simultaneous cases before an Oregon court and remains a person of interest by the agency investigating her sons disappearance, this has been an arduous and sometimes delicate journey.    Ms. Horman’s experiences during the ongoing investigation of the disappearance of Kyron Horman are critically important to propelling his case and with great hope- finding the truth about what happened to this cherubic and innocent child.    There are dozens of sources,  collateral interviews, forensic experts and legal analysts that also contribute to my series and have done so because of their belief that my motivation is to bring to light information and opinions in such a way that would almost “require” a focused review of Kyron’s case and the likely shaking of that proverbial tree everyone talks about.

Set to publish about 6-ish weeks ago I was asked to postpone the first installment of the series, which I did.  I subsequently learned Ms. Horman was participating in the Dr. Phil program after she completed taping.  Dr. Phils producers were well aware that Ms. Horman had interviewed with me extensively, and anticipated my series would be publishing information that was not known to the public previously in the days prior to her scheduled episode.    When Ms. Horman conveyed to me that she feels obligated to speak out about “her son” in any national medium that will have her,   I most certainly respected that.  I still do.

While Dr. Phil seems like a gregarious fellow for sure,   I have zero interest in being associated with his program, nor do I believe his shows content is designed to do any furtherance of investigation or truth.  There is much concern (although I have no affiliation to the show whatsoever) that the timing of the publication of my series on the Kyron Horman matter might be interpreted differently or inadvertently contribute to the programs content or audience reactions.     Not what I signed on for.   A missing 7 year old boy six years running is not a framework for entertaining a target audience.   He is not fodder for online social media bully campaigns- yet it occurs.

I will be publishing my series on Kyron’s case at a later date, in it’s entirety with no editing adjustments as a result of any of the appearances on Dr. Phil.   I appreciate your patience and your understanding.   Feel free to discuss the show below.

I remember that being said of Kyron but I also remember it being phrased in different ways and therefore striking me as having different meanings to the point of where I was confused by what was trying to be conveyed. Kind of like being confused whether Kyron had educational issues or not.
My conclusion (right or wrong) was always that Kyron was a young elementary kid with an extremely dysfunctional family. We probably will never know exactly what was going on with him but my guess is that regardless of whether he had prior contact with SZ or not, Kyron was assuming he was safe at school. He had no reason to fear that the safety of the school would not extend to the adult he left the classroom with.

IMO yes, a definite possibility, among others. The conversation was during an interview of both KH & DY. Here ya’ go, original interview June 25, 2010. Was Mr. H speaking about stranger danger:

Kyron is well-versed in “stranger danger,” his parents said, but because he has some trouble following directions in school, they have worked with him on listening to teachers and parents in a school setting.

When asked if Kyron might have left Skyline with an adult he didn’t know, Young said she wasn’t sure.

“I can’t say he wouldn’t because [he knew] it’s a stranger danger situation,” Young said. “I don’t know if he would recognize that.”

    http://www.oregonlive.com/portland/index.ssf/2010/06/parents_of_kyron_horman_to_app.html

So Desiree Young says right there that Kyron may very well have left with someone unknown to him, because he would have assumed, as he had been told to, that the adults in that school are NOT strangers and he was to follow their instructions.

    Remember this interview?:

(I’m sorry, but link doesn’t work anymore, it was from June 25, 2010. http://www.kgw.com/video/featured-videos/Raw-Kyrons-parents-full-interview-97177194.html )

    Kaine: We’ve had some concerns…

    Desiree: Yeah.

Kaine: …along with his teacher around listening to instructions from adults while at school.

So we’ve been working with him to try to understand that we need to work with the faculty there, the parents there, the volunteers there to make sure that when they give him instructions he’s following those.

He normally does a very good job at doing that. Just occasionally we get a little bit of that behavior so we’ve really reinforced with him that if you’re at school and you’re working with a parent or a teacher, you need to follow their instructions.

So in that particular environment he would be expected to follow the instructions of an adult…

    Desiree: Yeah.

Kaine: …at school. Outside of school he’s very well versed in the stranger danger and everything else, but in that one particular setting that’s the type of behavior that’s been reinforced through all of us.

    Desiree: Yeah.

    ********

I always thought it was odd that it wasn’t the teacher he was referring to and that he used the term adults and further specifies both parents and volunteers. So who exactly was it that both Porter and the Horman’s were having concerns about whose instructions Kyron had not been following? He is talking about the past, prior to Kyron’s disappearance, although in the second comment he says, yes, “in that environment” (school) he would be expected to follow the instructions of ” an adult”, as in ANY adult, and he makes it sound as though he is referring to the Science Fair day.

I think Rose may be on to something here and I also think that both Kaine & Desiree knew way back here that Kyron was seen with an unidentified man. Of course, I’ve said that before. LOL http://blinkoncrime.com/2012/11/27/kyron-horman-missing-civil-suit-against-terri-horman-delayed-and-sealed/comment-page-26/

Interesting that link still worked in 2013, now it’s “oh, Snap! The page you requested cannot be displayed”, so why was this interview pulled from KGW’s site? (We all know it was a hit. Pun intended.)

    **********
June 25 interview, was that the day before the sting? Hmmmmm, it was:

ABC’s Portland affiliate KATU is reporting that the landscaper police say Terri Horman allegedly contacted to kill her husband and Kyron’s father, Kaine Horman, was in on the sting, but then raised the woman’s suspicions enough that she called 911.

The landscaper showed up at Horman’s door June 26 wearing a hidden microphone to demand hush money. Undercover agents were nearby. But the plan backfired when Horman called police to report an emergency, according to KATU, telling the dispatcher a man at her door wanted $10,000.

    http://realitychatter.forumotions.net/t2472p600-kyron-horman-missing-6-4-10-1

So now that’s making me ponder something new. KH & DY divulge the above information on the 25th. A (what we now know to be) *hastily devised* “sting” is played out by LE on the following day. Was there a rush to quell KH & DY’s information made public in that interview and keep the focus away from anything having to do with the school?

    Hmmmmm?

T.Ruth- masterful job putting this together, thank you.
I would add this quote from Kaine:

“She’s cooperating with investigators as passionately as are we,” Horman said. This was in reference to Terri, as I recall she had 2 of those polygraphs under her belt by then.

What a difference 24 hour makes, doesn’t it?

Blink can you tell us what the December 2009 911 call was about then?.

I thought that I read something about Kaine had a kidney stone (which can be vary painful ) and TH called 911.

below is a link to Anabolic Steroids and side side effects. I don’t know if Kaine was using steroids as well as selling them or even just using them himself. looks like Kidney stones is on the list of side effects.

cd, this is correct and I did publish the final Dx and I think a comment something like “unless MCSO is going to allege that TMH caused Kaine’s kidney stones directly by some means through attempted solicitation(mfh)- and then calling the MCSO EMS against his wishes as the impetus for the mfh FAPA filing, this would be the only health incident of Kaine’s at the “end of 2009″ on record. I will supply complete context on this eventually, but for the practical discussion, it appeared to me then and now that MCSO or MCDA took the fact that it could refuse to release the actual recording and subsequent records of that event (alleging domestic violence or FAPA) as a means to lodge a public perception in support of its claims because it knew the truth would not be released publicly.

SO… a 911 call is placed from the Horman home in December 2009 and Kaine Horman is subsequently hospitalized.
Kaine maintains plausible deniability in subsequent filings as he indicates LE never shared with him any details on the actual attempt past that.

So let me say this- when it was learned that there was zero basis for the FAPA order in the first place, through depositions during the dissolution case it was converted to a civil mutual no contact order. That should have been the first clue that nobody ever believed it nor could they substantiate it. TMH was told (on the record) the day of the sting that MCSO and the MCDA was set to “destroy her” if she “did not tell them what they wanted to know.”

I would argue they made good on that promise.

I have been through three large hurricanes as a adult. The first was Audrey in late June 1957, the first named storm, then Carla in Sept, 1961 and Alicia in August 1983. All large storms with a lot of destruction. I learned a few things from each one.

Use your careful analysis of events to gauge the news about the hurricane. Some of the reports have a lot of make believe in them.

I am a lot farther from the landfall area today than I was in 1961. About 220 miles from the coast and the possible land fall area.

Your analysis of the early days of the disappearance of Kyron is good. Thank GOD Terri did not fall for the “Sting” set up by the police. This is the only investigative technique they knew. Sort of like the carpenter who only has a single tool, a hammer.

I really feel sorry for the people of Portland. They have to put up with a dysfunctional sheriff’s department and a local police department that is not much better.

We have NE wind at about 15mph and gusts to 25mph. Began to rain at about 7:30 AM. A light rain that may drop an inch or more in several hours.

I can still get a signal on the satellite and that will not happen if the rain reaches a three or four inches per hour rate. I don’t expect that to happen.

It appears that the eye of the storm passed over Aransas Pass, the break between Padre Island and Matagorda Island, then to Rockport and is SW of Victoria a few miles. This path is similar to that of Carla which moved up the center of Lavaca Bay destroying the old causeway across the bay and damaged the South Lanes of the new causeway on hwy. 35.

This storm is nowhere near the level that was Carla. I really doubt it was much more than a very low level Cat. 3, but the news media has pumped it up to make it seem so.

The power companies have shut down most of the power along the coast to prevent fires and electrocution of animals and humans. Later today, after surveys have been made, I expect to see 90 percent of the outage restored. The reporters are not smart enough to pass this information to the public.

The same thing with the cell towers in the area. All have emergency generators with tank capacity to run the electronics for many hours. The problem with them is dislocation of the antennas by the wind so they cannot receive and transmit. The report of a tower being down does not mean it is on the ground. It just means the service is not functioning.

The power companies have to consider the damage to the system and cannot keep power on for the few who for one reason or another choose to stay where they are and ride it out.

Most power lines are above ground. The spacing on the lines is to separate them so the arc distance is beyond the voltage on the line. As an example; The arc distance on a three phase 72,000 volt line is 9 feet. The lines are going to be installed so that normal wind speeds do not allow lines to get within the arc distance. In a major storm, winds are powerful enough to push lines into the area where an arc can take place. If it does, an arc may burn the line so that it separates and falls to the ground. The side that is still energized becomes a danger to people and animals.

Most people do not understand how electricity really works. In the early days of electrical power, a single line was used with the physical ground being the return route. The ground was charged which became a hazard. This was soon recognized and the feeds were changed to two lines. This was long before 72,000 volt transmission lines were installed and since the 1960′s there are systems as high as 500,000 volts.

More troubling sexual misconduct files may exist at Portland Public Schools

The case of Mitch Whitehurst, an educator who Portland Public Schools officials allowed to evade years of complaints of sexual misconduct, isn’t the only recent instance in which school district officials seem to have discounted student complaints, a former employee says.

Portland Public Schools recently departed paralegal says she read case files that indicate the district also gave student concerns about other employee misconduct or aggression short shrift. Jeanne Windham, who held that role for nearly four years, told The Oregonian/OregonLive this week she would be happy to point district officials to those files.

A remaining mystery about Portland Public Schools’ protection of educator Mitch Whitehurst in the face of years of complaints of sexual misconduct: Who concluded that eighth-grade girls’ firsthand accounts about their gym teacher were rumors?

That decision, made in 2013, let Whitehurst skate yet again and is laid out in a video deposition. Yet no one will own it and no one will say who made that call.

School board members have pledged an independent investigation into the school district’s treatment of Whitehurst, which was laid bare in a recent Oregonian/OregonLive article. At least two board members say they specifically want to know who wrote off the girls’ firsthand accounts.

Rosen and Bailey both said they want answers.

Rosen said he felt it was “outrageous” that staff members have not provided the name of who decided the girls’ accounts were rumors.

“I hope the investigation figures out who it was. I’d love to hear that person’s logic. How many woman had to come forward over 32 years before there was a credible complaint that wasn’t quote a rumor?” Rosen said. “I think it is embarrassing. I mean who is accountable?”

This is critically important to investigate- it is an egregious failure over many years and many positions of power. Apparently this is now a criminal investigation (or not, statute of limitations?).
I do not wish to minimize the importance of this in any way.

That said, could it dawn on anyone within PPS that maybe a 7 year old gone missing from their school, not marked absent, from a completely unsecured facility with a few hundred extra unknown visitors on grounds might spark an investigation?

for Xmas so she had to practice with him
    with that one too.
    2) knows an unknown male kidnapped kyron but has not ever publically

offensiveline would come after him & his gun would actually be needed defensively).
    3) does his “Foundation” sthick in public in crowds at events with security guards.

Rose, for me, the fact that Kaine was a target of a Federal investigation commencing (as far as his involvement I am aware of in April 2009, had interaction with the DEA and subsequent contacts of his, supplied directly through that investigation were indicted and arrested is the single strongest “evidence” to me that Kaine had associates (at least) with an axe to grind prior to Kyron’s disappearance. It is not my only concern about the possibility that Kyron’s disappearance is possibly tied to him, but it is the most corroborated. As I have stated many times- I have never seen any evidence that Kaine Horman had any involvement with his son’s disappearance, but I am not at all satisfied that the possibility as it related to his lifestyle choices of the illegal variety have ever been properly excluded.

Once again (sigh… not to any of you of course, but I am going to need more shelving for my captain obvious awards) this level of activity (illegal, associates facing loss of liberty, finances, jobs) escalates Kyron’s victimology profile.

He was later front and center milking the abduction for bus publicity and “fingered” Terri fir attempt kidnap. His grudge and financial needs were equal to the steroid importers. Maybe that’s why LE said “go to the gym.”

    1. KH and TH went to separate gyms normally so it was odd they went together in the first place.
    2. It is my belief based on multiple interviews that the car was wired for surreptitious recording/monitoring of the conversation between the two and I suppose as well as any they may have had via cell phones while in the vehicle.
    3. One cannot kidnap their own child and at the time of that exchange TMH had not been served and had no earthly idea where her daughter was. TMH also had no idea that MCSO was behind any of it. The only interaction she had to put her mind at ease was a call to acquire her daughter’s (redacted) which had been left behind because Kaine (allegedly) did not know which one it was.

Can one even imagine that MCSO/MCDA dialogue? I do know the answer to that, (thus the context reference). I am willing to say that the MCSO is the named custodian of those records. I would say those records are exculpatory to any accusation against TH that the incident was associated with any criminal act on her part or anyone else’s. The simple fact is they prove a concerned wife called for EMS services AGAINST her husbands wishes because his pain was escalating and she was concerned it might be a ruptured appendix. The EMS staff decided he needed to be transported and admitted to the hospital where he was ultimately Dx and treated for kidney stones and released the next day.

Isn’t it though. People lost jobs, some lost liberty some before Kyron went missing and some after. It could be a coincidence.

ATG, Please update us on your situation. Stay dry and out of your vehicle and out of the attic is what I am hearing.

Keep your eyes open when you are out and about. Three weeks ago I witnessed two sales taking place in parking lots of out little town.

A buyer will park their car and wait for the dealer to arrive. Then they will quickly get in the back or the front passenger seat and make the purchase and go back to their vehicle. Its all over less than three minutes. Drugs are everywhere. We don’t have enough LE people to put a stop to it.

So I read this to completion, lol. This would be why I wanted to hang onto info until/if we can connect any dots. If I just cursorily read that, I am thinking our subject was that nephew who owned the horse- he actually has no attachment and someone just posted that in that thread. (sorry to readers as we work through this but sometimes this is how leads get developed).

As per my earlier post, a tip- Oregon court records are now searchable for free. Rn I am interested in who the now deceased person attended the science fair with. I know he is, at the very least, considered a friend of Susan Hall. We don’t hold parents responsible for the sins of their children, of course, but I do find it interesting that at least two of the adult children have extensive criminal records starting at a young age.

Lastly- just an fyi. One can have records expunged in Oregon (many states).

can’t refind Bob’s former FB photo with his plane, red sports car, & a lad on his knee. His fin troubkes
relating to various properties seem to span 2009-14 and the “salw” of his Beaverton “Edge.”

  39. Rose says:

@ATG. my guess in gym-based steroid sales where
sales are regular & widespread & the buyer
writes a check is it is well kniwn to on site Mgr who likely gets a kickback
    or regular bread.

  40. Rose says:

@ATG. or Local LE knows to dealing
sites and is on the take to stay away.

  41. Rose says:

I bet gym based steroid sales have
a %age of deputy purchasers who are
also friendly with manager and unhappy
    if he’s fired by corporate.

  42. Rose says:

how can we connect dots about held info?
(though know you hold for good reason.)

Not even sure there are dots, you know better than most if it reaches dot status it will be posted here.
    :)
