Kyron Horman Disappearance: Exclusive Three Part Series Debuts On Blink On Crime

Kyron Horman would be 10 years old this Sunday.  Maybe he will be.  According to his Father Intel engineer Kaine Horman, his only son is alive and well at an unknown location “secreted” away by an unknown person with an unknown connection to his estranged wife Terri Horman.

Kyron Horman’s biological Mother, Desiree Young, or Momma as he called her,  believes  Kyron is either alive or deceased- both locations known to Terri Horman and possibly others.

Kyron’s case has once again been featured on Jane Velez Mitchell and is scheduled to be featured on Americas Most Wanted  .

Reader interest in what I have affectionately dubbed our “red eyed tree frog dude”  has produced well over 20,000 comments on this site alone.

In our upcoming report series,  Blink On Crime, in conjunction with contributing BOC legal analyst Washington Attorney Lea Conner  intends to review both  current information in detail as well as exclusive new information developed by  Editor In Chief and Chief criminal analyst, S. Christina Stoy.

Part I:  Desiree Young V Terri Horman Case : The Little Engine That Could, Or Could Not?

Part II:  Sovereignty Is A Myth: Revelations About The Morning Kyron Disappeared

Part III:  The Big Muscle Theory- Does It Have Weight?

Part I publishes Tuesday  September 11.

Blink Book Review: THE CHARMER: Written By Prosecutors Of Serial Rapist and Murderer Robert Reldan

“…He has dug to the core of his problem [and] has gained all of the insight necessary for a successful adjust to society….” It is anticipated that Reldan will probably be one of the most successful people who ever graduated from the Rahway treatment unit..”
William E Prendergast, Jr-  Quotes contained within his report for parole for Robert Reldan, convicted rapist, eventual career criminal.

William E Predergast Jr,  who was never a licensed psychologist, was in his first year on staff at the Rahway Treatment Center.

He gave his best Dr. Frederick Chilton impression with a third gushing and seemingly  smitten report in 1968 of his  350 + hours of treatment of registered sex offender Reldan

.

Reldan began his criminal career before he had a drivers license and committed two sexual assaults by his 27th birthday.  His juvenile record was sealed, so his rape conviction in the eyes of the court made him a first time adult offender who was sentenced to a prison hospital for 3 years.

Not the the 30 year sentence he should have received, or that his family cash could repel.

The Charmer, indeed.

Thus sets the stage for the tale of how one of New Jersey’s most sadistic serial rapists became a rapist-murderer with the unintended help of the Bergen County court system and the effective ATM of an aunt who had the great fortune of marrying well.

Mrs. Lillian Booth shared the last name of a well known assassin.

As you will read,  THIS Ms. Booth was fine with the play, other than that unpleasantry, for sure.

The Charmer is co-written by by former Deputy Attorney General Charles Buckley who ultimately slammed the cell door on RRR and esteemed Bergen County prosecutor and Buckley protegee Richard Muti.

Prendergast’s myopic view is one of many contained in the chronology of how the man of means – the son of the owner’s of the Sweet Sue Bakery in the Bronx , which consequently is the name of both of his murder victims and his own sister,  charmed his way through the criminal justice system, prison, and his marriage to the former wife of an executed Chicago mobster.  “Judy, Judy, Judy.”

Reldan was the Madoff of crime before Madoff was could spell ponzi, or was a criminal.

Similarly to Madoff’s not so silent alarm, there is a confluence of events that SHOULD have been Revere-esque in stopping this man’s tortuous  rampage.

“The Reldan is coming, the Reldan is coming”.

I heard it in my ears as the chapter’s tides dared me to meet it’s rip.

Muti and Buckley provide the perfect combination of chronology, facts and page-turning prose that make this non-fiction work a must read for true crime enthusiasts.

Sadly, it is also an avuncular handbook for law enforcement looking to bend the rules in an effort to be right about a suspect.  While they absolutely were, there was dire consequences.

DiLuzio is a Di-loser in my professional opinion.  You will have to read for yourself to digest the reference.

As a criminal investigative analyst with recent advanced education in the sexually motivated offender profile(s), The Charmer had me dog-earing pages with margin notes and highlighter saturation.

What can I say- with my schedule I am an avid audio book and occasional kindle reader,  but the crisp pages and  artful weave of reality loomed with eye- bulging twists, prompted  more than a few illustrious phrases from this Jersey girl.

The addition to my non-virtual library is a treat.

The change to legislation to accommodate a civil litigation on behalf of a victim’s family made me like former Governor Corzine for the time it took me to come up with an acronym for MF global.

Reldan was bionic for a bit thanks to an un-addressed legacy will.  No kryptonite involved .

Reeve was the best Superman’s real last name.   Read THE CHARMER for your decoder ring.

Erika Megan Sharpton Murder: Suspect Match Identified In CODIS Warrants Immediate Arrest Or Public Warning- DA Says Wait

Erika Megan Sharpton, called Megan by her family and friends set out the evening of July 1 to interview for a new job on her only day off.

At 24, Megan was committed to her education in her nursing program and she was anxious to secure a position in line with her studies and gain some relevant experience.

Facebook Photo

Megan’s partially charred remains were discovered by a motorist at 1:18AM the morning of July 2, 2012 while observing what he thought was a holiday brush fire. Megan was doused with gasoline and set ablaze very shortly before.

Mercifully, she was deceased by that time and investigators believe she met her end somewhere else. The reporter of the grass fire who backed up twice into the gravel pull off area for a closer look identity has not been released.

Finding Megan was the start of the discovery of a deadly lure by a man who is no stranger to the law, and investigators know his identity.

Speaking on the sole condition of anonymity, a source has confirmed to www.blinkoncrime.com that Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Franklin County Sheriffs Department (FCSD) and law enforcement personnel from surrounding Coffee and Bedford counties have identified a suspect based on a forensic match to evidence found at the scene.

The starry and promising young woman who used to donate items and volunteer for programs that support the underprivileged and homeless was beaten, sexually assaulted and burned from her nude waist down. While several reports of her cause of death indicate blunt force trauma, investigators have not released additional details that would likely only be known to the suspect.

S. Christina Stoy,  Editor In Chief, reached Kelly Hale Sharpton earlier today and asked the bereaved mother if she had been given the information about a DNA match to a suspect.

..”The FCPD has asked that we do not discuss any of the case sensitive details publicly so I cannot address your question directly.  I will say that I met with the prosecutor Michael Taylor and expressed my great concern that an arrest be made immediately based on information I was told.  He declined and I showed him a picture of Megan and I and told him he could not allow this to happen to  someone else and this was Megan’s way of stopping this and I am frustrated with the decision to wait for an indictment of the man who murdered my child.  Chief Fuller and Det Chris Guess have been a phenomenal support and I trust them without reservation and I believe they are equally frustrated..”

Megan had two star tattoos  on her neck to honor her siblings, as well as three others.  She had refused a potential job offer last Fall because her sister was expecting and she was concerned that she would have to leave immediately if she were to go into labor.

When Megan’s mother Kelly saw a post on facebook about the woman found at the base of the bridge had star tattoos, she immediately knew it was her child.

Megan fought her attacker like a banshee.  A t 5’9″ banshee was no match. (more…)

Saying Goodbye For Now: Lung Cancer Ends Mom’s Valiant Fight At 63

Posted by BOC Staff | Blink,Dana Pretzer Show,London Olympics,RED,Scared Monkeys Radio,Uncategorized | Thursday 2 August 2012 12:20 pm

As many of you know,  my Mother has spent the last seven years battling  lung cancer and subsequent secondary metastasis throughout her body.  She quit smoking in 1986.

With an initial classification of stage 3B and a bleak  prognosis , she endured herculean efforts to wage war against the silent enemy that only showed itself on PET scans.

The Red Baroness And Her Life's Co-Pilot

She was an avid true crime reader and case follower.   In her last  email to me, she reviewed my work in the case against Jerry Sandusky while lying in Oncology Intensive Care via her Blackberry that she smuggled in under her gown.

After three weeks of heinousness,  she died peacefully Tuesday at the age of 63.

When she passed, she had 5 books on her nightstand and her Kindle; one of which I was sent by it’s authors for future review.

She told me she was willing to read it, but she was not going to do my job for me, LOL.

“I am overqualified and I am working on dying over here.  I am not going do your work for you, plus I do not know how objective I can be”

Our Mom’s tenacity for knowledge was secondary to her sense of humor.

Last week when we brought her home I reminded her that the same things about her personality that kept her alive for seven years against all odds were going to work against her desire to take her last nap.

She responded, ” I know honey, I am dragging my parachute.”   As the Olympics began, I told her she got the gold medal for outliving all the other patients in the oncology practice and with only one lung category.

She said,  “Speaking of gold do  you realize it is projected to rise to $1620 an ounce according to my ticker app.    I answered, ” If you do not put that thing away and get some rest I am going to smother you with a pillow and speed this thing up.”

“Then use the new one you bought me.  Your Father’s are flat and mushy and I cannot get him to part with them,  OR ME, ba dump bump” ,  she said complete with hand gestures mimicking a drum set.

“No worries,  I have Daddy signed up on 6 online dating sites including christian mingle something.”

She laughed so hard she had to push her bolus and shot back,  “Now I know that is a lie, you are 43 years old and you put your thumb over the face of his prom dates in his old scrap books when you look at them.”

“AND.. I threw a gum wrapper in her front lawn when Dad showed me her house when we went to visit Grammy’s grave ions ago.”

“Charming.  Maybe you might consider putting that on your growth area list.”

There was nothing secondary about her love of our Father, her girls or our entire family.

In the nearly 44 years they were married,  I never once saw them argue.   As kids, that was particularly daunting- we got away with nothing.   The parental divide and conquer plan was non-existent in our home.

In my teens I used to be annoyed by her ability to walk into the middle of some early crime show and know exactly who did it and why.

A N N O Y I N G in the learning process.

E N D E A R I N G  in the saying goodbye process.

Little did I know then- I would also be inspired by it.  I know everyone says they have the greatest Mum in the world, but she truly was the best woman I have ever known.

Ma Mere did not go gently into the good night.  She told the good night she would come when she was ready, and that she did.   I will not be keeping this post up for long, this site and my work are dedicated to true crime.

While losing one’s Mother at 63 is very much a crime of sorts to me,  we had the ability to spend our borrowed time together creating memories that will sustain us during the most profound loss I have ever experienced- many victims families of cases we cover do not.    Frankly, as far as learning curves go,  I have a new perspective on grief so I appreciate you indulging me with this announcement for a bit.

Private message to Mom:  The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog :)

I will be back in full swing next week,  moderating until then.

My sincere thanks to all for your continued support at www.blinkoncrime.com, www.scaredmonkeys.com and www.scaredmonkeys.net.

I would also like to thank Hematology-Oncology Associates Dr. Friedman and Dr. Shaw.   You were her care consultants operating with her directives,  and your advice and compassion  allowed us to bring her home.

I get that it is weird with 27 years in the business you come across the raging bull dressed like my 5′ 3″ tall Mother.

The energy you gave us at your surprise and delight to have her be a first in your practice is cherished and Thank You.

Missing Iowa Girls Lyric and Elizabeth: New Evidence Found, Lake Cleared, Dad Dan Morrissey Is Suspect. Is A Jailbreak Connected?

Evansdale, Iowa-  Lyric Morrissey and Elizabeth Collins have been missing from what their Grandmother Wylma Cook described as “within her view from the home” for over one week.  Myers Lake, approximately a 27 acre body of water surrounded by a Nature bike trail which yielded the tweens bikes and purse, has been cleared after consultation with the Elite FBI CSI dive team.

Courtesy WH8T

On July 12th, the day before the girls disappeared,  Daniel Morrissey was due to enter a guilty plea in a pending Federal drug arrest.  Instead, he requested the matter be scheduled/reset for trial.  In response,  prosecutors swiftly requested the court place Morrissey under appropriate pre-trial supervision for his alleged crimes.

On Thursday, prosecutors with the Black Hawk County Attorney’s Office asked a judge to review Morrissey’s release, pointing out that Iowa Code state people charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth being a second offender — one of the charges Morrissey is facing — shall be under supervision as a condition of their release.

Occurring almost simultaneously to Morrissey’s plea filing which he did not attend personally, a Black Hawk county prisoner broke out of jail, robbed a pharmacy and was on the lam for over 18 hours.

Jeremy Alan Mask, fond of controlled substances which led to his arrests is now in custody and additional charges related to the escape were filed against Mask the following day.  Mask was sentenced to a residential treatment center following a burglary of a Walgreens last April.

Are the incidents connected?  Investigators are not talking.  Except to say they now have video footage of the girls at about the time they were both seen.  No mention as to whether or not the girls were on their bikes.

Investigators may be tight lipped- But they ARE acting.

Yesterday  Black Hawk County detectives revised a no contact order barring Dan Morrissey from being near his wife Misty- although they have appeared together and have been living together for weeks- following a domestic violence assault which landed both Dan and Misty back in prison last August.

As reported exclusively last week on www.blinkoncrime.com, Dan Morrissey for the assault and Misty Cook-Morrissey for extensive probation/parole violations.

The pair are now permitted to be in each other’s company, provided LE agents are as well.

Misty Cook Morrissey’s sister Tammy Brossueau has confirmed that detectives have directly confronted Dan Morrissey with information they developed pointing to him as a suspect and as a result the estranged couple have refused to cooperate further in the investigation to locate their daughter and her cousin Elizabeth.

Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office Captain Rick Abben officially declared the case an abduction at a 4 PM press conference yesterday afternoon.

Abben also announced a $50,000 reward is being offered leading to the person or persons responsible for the disappearance of the girls.  He confirmed  said evidence has been seized in the investigation and sent to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation crime lab in Des Moines.    While he would not comment on the evidence specifically, sources inside the investigation speaking on the condition of anonymity to www.blinkoncrime.com have confirmed that items from the home including a computer and other electronic devices are among the listed property inventory.
