Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: 3D Virtual Juror Exclusive- Tour for Yourself

Orlando, FL– While the countdown begins for upcoming motions in both the criminal and civil cases against notorious tot mom Casey Anthony for the murder of her daughter, Caylee, a blinkoncrime.com exclusive:

Overhead mapAn Interactive Tour of the crime scene off Suburban Drive, the autopsy area and digital DNA lab, and the Anthony home where most believe is where 34 month old Caylee Marie Anthony sadly met her end.

Built by a colleague at my request, Angela Talamasca and her team have recreated an interactive simulation that undoubtedly will be used by both the State’s Attorneys and Jose Baez Defense Team.

It is designed to provide a virtual experience allowing the final “triers of fact” to literally transport themselves within the evidence and theories they will be presented to consider when determining the fate of the accused, Casey Anthony.  This proof of concept ”build” includes contribution and consult from leaders in the fields of: Forensics, CSI, Crime Scene Reconstruction and Medical Examiners Investigations.

Currently, we have closed the simulation “island” to the public while it continues development to reflect known evidence and elements of the case.

We got a glimpse of the 3D “view” released in the discovery of Autopsy a flyover of the area where Caylee Anthony’s remains were found. In the second life version (think Wii sims for adults) site called Digital DNA, users will be able to “virtually” tour the scenes by walking through them and simultaneously interacting with the features that will hilight the components and evidence of the case.

Take the Museum tour, interactive crime scene case review, test out your own theories “real time”  or disprove someone else’s; it’s here.

(editors note: out of respect for Caylee’s age, we have used a larger than scale anthropologic presentation)

Add to that an apparent “dig” at Cindy.

  2. Hi all, I have created a section on our VR Hacks forum (see http://forum.vrhacks.net) to help with second life particulars and provide a centralized place to discuss/follow the crime scene recreation developments.

Please be sure to check out the “tutorial” section under the “virtual juror” category for instructions on how to create your accounts.

Once your accounts are ready, you can IM me “in-world” (just do a ctrl+f for find and select the people tab, and search for “Angela Talamasca”) and/or IM me from your forum account.

Please be sure to let me know you’re a Blink follower and wish to be added to the virtual juror group. At which point I will add you to both the forum and second life virtual juror group.

And finally, once you’re in, feel free to discuss the crime scene builds in the virtual juror group chat and/or under the caylee anthony section in the virtual juror forum.

I will add a poll for what to do with the 3rd platform later today.

Other questions? Please feel free to contact me in-world or via the forum.

I didn’t know if your post was directed at my last post. It may not have been.
Just in case, to reiterate, I feel convinced of Casey’s involvement. But without seeing all of the evidence, I don’t know how Caylee died. Even the ME doesn’t precisely know. Homicide can also mean manslaughter. I’d like to hear the state’s entire theory.

  4. silverspnr says:

The car was “tampered” with (either intentionally or not) by the Anthony family before LE got to it. Therefore, there is no evidential value in how items in the front seat, etc were placed. The only value of the vehicle is in the trunk, i.e. the hair with death ring was found there, the decomp, and we don’t entirely know about that stain or any other items of value which have not yet been revealed.

The new discovery motion– is a revised form of a prior motion to get Tony’s cell records. The prior motion, like many Baez filed, was ineffective, because it was overly broad in the relief requested, i.e. it requested a large date range of information without proper basis for the Court to grant the proposed Order.

They say, in this current version, that they are pairing the dates down (I think it is not June 2008-January 2009 or something like that). We’ll see if their request has been sufficiently narrowed to get the relief requested.

It also appears they are looking to cast some doubt here about Tony, potentially signaling a possible defense theory.

    Remember:
Cindy says the last time she saw Caylee and Casey was on the evening of June 15th (she also says she heard them both the morning of the 16th before she left for work, though she did not see them).

George says the last time he saw Caylee, was on the 16th at 12:50 p.m., and that she was leaving the house with Casey at that time.

Who is the next person to see Casey, but says that Caylee was not with her? Tony.

Who strolled into the video store on the evening of the 16th with Casey to rent those 2 movies?
    Tony.

Who has Casey in his bedroom during a party in early June, while Caylee was left to wander his apartment, and the balcony of his apartment, with other adults–including strangers to Caylee?
    Tony.

    Who is from NY?
    Tony.

Who played odd little headgames with Casey about leaving her?
    Tony.

Who told Casey he did not want a female child?
    Tony.

Who did not seem bothered, or even very curious, about the fact that Caylee was not around anymore after mid-June, 2008?
Tony (unlike his room mates who found it so odd, that they questioned Casey about it– even suggested to her that perhaps Caylee was not really her daughter after all–see Interview of Nathan L.)

Who was involved with the gas can incident?
Tony (who somehow thought it was OK to break a lock on a shed in her parents’ yard)

Who said he met Casey because he hit her up on Facebook, because she was a Valencia student, but never seemed to question the fact that she was not a Valencia student?
    Tony

Who failed to let LE know that he allowed Casey to use his vehicle on June 17, 2008?
    Tony

Who let Lee Anthony take the laptop, clothing, etc– perhaps even watched as Lee erased it.

    Getting a picture here?

    Another possible defense theory:

Casey had a major fight with Cindy, who finally ordered her to leave the house for a while–oh, say, a month. Casey spends all night on the phone with her boyfriend, and voila! She has a place to stay. Perhaps even a place for Caylee–if not at Tony’s place, well.. then.. with someone he knows and says she can trust. Someone who will take Caylee, along with another child she watches, to.. the beach, the park, theme parks, etc. And Casey can stay with Tony, at least until things settle down with her mother. And then… things changed. Casey didn’t realize what she was getting herself into with Tony. It all sounded so good at the start… blahblahblah…. She was threatened/her family was threatened unless she cooperated. Caylee was the key to her silence. She was sacrificing herself for her child..blahblahblahhhh. It’s all about DRUGS. She has no clue. She was willing to spend eternity in jail to protect her daughter, blahblahblahhhh. She was going to lie, cheat, steal–whatever she had to do to make sure Caylee wasn’t harmed-blahblah. This is why she was so very desperate to get Tony’s phone number from jail. This is why she was so worried/concerned for her family that he was already in the home that night she spoke to her mom, Lee and Christine. This is why she wasn’t emotional about Caylee. She was worried about everyone/everything else. Blahblahhhhhhhhhhhh.

    HERE IS THE POINT:
Who the H knows what they will cook up?? The only thing that will lose this case for the prosecution is a LACK OF IMAGINATION as to what the defense might argue (within the bounds of reason/within the corners of the evidence–I mean clearly, no one is going to buy a defense that Caylee was abducted by aliens, right?? OK. Maybe some people would, but you get my idea)

I think that the defense is grasping at straws !! they must know they have a tough job ahead of them to prove her innocent! in doing so they are targeting everyone from the nanny, to amy to jesse and now tony!!! they realize that their is alot of compelling evidence against her. I am so sickened by the unprofessional way that baez conducts himself. He wants to be a Johny cochran but lacks the skills and savvy that johny presented himself with.
you are so right there is just too much for the jury to find her innocent and there is no way that her demanor will change to apease them because casey is casey and sociopaths dont know how to show feelings. In some of her jail calls to her mom she spoke with a friend kristina and her brother lee! she was more interested in contacting tony than asking about her daughter and the progress of the case. I seen that lee was realy disgusted with her and I seen also that not even kristina bought her story because she asked casey why she wasnt showing any emotion and casey said that she didnt have time to cry every two seconds something like that because she had to stay focused. not even her x friends believe anything she said because they know her to be an evil emotionless pathological liar..also in a jail house visit from her parents she was talking to her dad her mom was crying! casey became annoyed and asked her dad ” why is mom crying!! excuse me why??? maybe because they loved their grandaughter!! not that I feel anything for them because of their mean and evil conduct to all who have attempted to assist them in finding caylee and their turn to caseys side her storys !! casey will rot in jail!! her attorney thinks he can prove her innocence therefore making a name for himself.
not gonna happen too much against her !!!

  7. Kleat says:

the defense stated in the last motion ammendment, that it (the defense) was interested in a ‘search for the truth’. They don’t want the ‘truth’ in this case, they want to make reputations and get their client off, period.

This is shown by the defense’s past actions– to get Casey released to go ‘search’ for the baby ‘IN SECRET’. Excuse was ‘media’ but that was a ploy– they wanted to let Casey go to have a chance to secretly do things in the search for her missing child– things that she failed to do while each day of the 31 days passed. Things that would now assist her as she faced the reality of her situation as she said to her mom in the jail video ‘do YOU realize the situation I’m in?”.

Judge Strickland was faced with making the decision to allow Casey to go out, search ‘in secret’ with the defense’s blessing– and obviously, with them telling her ‘don’t tell us what you are up to’.

These actions show that the defense, like Cindy and George, do NOT want ‘the truth’– ‘the truth’ MUST be in the ‘JUSTICE’ equation, for all sides.

I just found it in the forum and was curious how everyone here felt about it thank you for making it more clear I truly enjoy reading your posts.

  9. Kleat says:

I think the defense wants to see Tony Lazzaro’s conversations and who else he ‘talked’ to that might also be someone who was video and/or recorded by Tony, ‘under cover’. They broaden the scope to not allude to the specific time period perhaps, that the wiretaps were allowed? I think the scope is well beyond that time period, at least as we know it, but haven’t checked.

WSH – what I got from Angela’s post was – if you got to secondlife.com and register (choose a name (nym) and password – wait for the confirmation email – you will be ready when the ‘virtual juror’ community is ready for us to explore. Blink will then send us an invite if we ask for one and we will be able to access the ‘virtual juror’ community. I don’t think this part has been established but in her response to me above she said she will work with Angela on how best to do that.

When you register – it appears that you have to enter one of the communities that are listed on the registration page – but you can skip this if you’d like to and wait for the invite to the ‘virtual juror’ one.

At least that is how I understand the process. Hope I’m right and not adding any confusion! Can’t wait to meet you all in 3-D with live chat capabilities, etc.

Here are the pertinent Florida Rules of Evidence on point:

90.401 Definition of relevant evidence.–Relevant evidence is evidence tending to prove or disprove a material fact.

    History.–s. 1, ch. 76-237; s. 1, ch. 77-77; s. 22, ch. 78-361; s. 1, ch. 78-379.

90.403 Exclusion on grounds of prejudice or confusion.–Relevant evidence is inadmissible if its probative value is substantially outweighed by the danger of unfair prejudice, confusion of issues, misleading the jury, or needless presentation of cumulative evidence. This section shall not be construed to mean that evidence of the existence of available third-party benefits is inadmissible.

    History.–s. 1, ch. 76-237; s. 1, ch. 77-77; ss. 6, 22, ch. 78-361; ss. 1, 2, ch. 78-379.

Note that the probative value of relevant evidence must be SUBSTANTIALLY OUTWEIGHED by the DANGER of UNFAIR PREJUDICE.

This is why I was saying that most evidence which is offered against a defendant is going to be “prejudicial” to them– as we understand the term in layman parlance. This is not what the evidence rules are about though.

The decision to exclude evidence on this basis rests with the trial judge. the party against whom the evidence is being offered must first object to it, before the judge will ever make such a ruling. You don’t hear of this often, unless you practice law as a litigator, because most often, you want to make this objection outside the hearing of the jury (because once they see or hear about something, the bell has been rung). Generally, motions to preclude the admissibility of evidence on this ground are made before the trial even begins/before the jury is even selected. For more information about this, look up “Motions in Limine”.

one the suspected discrepencies was the 3:00am call, in one of his interviews,he says he’s not into the 3:00 am calls,in fact casey was mad at him for falling asleep.later in another interview he says he does the late night intimate phone thing,(not only with casey),luvey stuff,(here he more like owns it like a stud muffin),and doesnt recall anything signifignat about his calls 3:00 am call with casey. could i jump to that late night 3:00 am call was the one he fell asleep to and it was casey’s freedom call, and he fell asleep so actually casey was free to move around the house (or put a pillow over caylee) while tony snored on the other end.(just one other possibility)

silverspnr! Great post– thanks– yes, the prosecution will have to think out of the box on this one– wayyyy out of the box and in many various directions, levels and all ‘creative’.

Like the crazy off-the-wall stuff about Napoleon’s relative Zenaide– as an exercise like drawing a ‘casey mind-map’ to spark ideas, not miss any of ‘the team’s’ moves, and they can’t risk a ‘glove-moment’ (OJ ref).

  23. Kleat says:

and they can’t risk another ‘Ashton’ moment, where poking him in the side while he turns to react, they slip a motion for some info past him unnoticed.

Does anyone know FOR SURE if Casey had ever made contact with Tony the 16th (the night she made the call home from jail and demanded his number)? I think this has been asked before but never answered with a definite yes or no…Could this be something LE is keeping to themselves for now?? Why would she not make that call to Tony?? What did she have to say if she did make that call??

(and all keeping in mind, ‘the proverbial FOREST’ and not get caught in the maze of paths, deadends and details when it counts)

  26. Julie says:

#154 silverspnr…wow..you have some really compelling arguments!Loved reading those poss. theories thoughts ect…hmm…Tony? I still think she was desperate to get Tony’s number to see if he had that ID……?

  27. Lori says:

I had read somewhere that Tony said he had never spoken to Casey after she got arrested. She never made that call, I believe.

  28. Kleat says:

nickel, there may be something in the undercover video of Tony and Lee, where Lee near the end, talks about the familie’s phones being bugged, and he brings up the idea that Tony’s phone might have been bugged, Tony laughs it off and says all anyone would hear is him responding to Casey with a lot of swearing, like why didn’t you tell me, and why all the ‘f’n’ lies etc… so yes, I’d guess there was a call from Casey to Tony and LE has it all on record.

  29. Kleat says:

if and when the defense wants a transcript or copy of that call between Casey and Tony, I’d expect we’d get to hear it too. But the defense should know what was in that call because they have Casey to tell them so should be no secret to them what was said etc.

  30. Kleat says:

Silverspnr, don’t you think that the call between Tony and Casey could be revealing about what happened during the 31 days when Tony and Casey were together? Defense would want to discredit this guy possibly to suggest some alterior motive to say what he did in that call?

  31. lily says:

Anthony Defense Team Seeks More Info
Casey Anthony Charged With Murder In Death Of Daughter

    POSTED: Wednesday, August 19, 2009
    UPDATED: 4:15 pm EDT August 19, 2009
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Casey Anthony defense team is demanding more phone records from one of her ex-boyfriends.

The defense wants records of all of Tony Lazzaro’s phone calls and text messages from the time Anthony’s daughter, Caylee, vanished last summer through January 2009.

Anthony’s attorneys said they need Lazzaro’s cell phone records to “search for the truth.”

Anthony’s defense team claims Lazzaro has been uncooperative with them.

In July 2008, Lazzaro allowed detectives to secretly record a conversation he had with Anthony’s brother, Lee Anthony.

Casey Anthony, 23, remains jailed on first-degree murder charges in the death of Caylee, whose remains were discovered in a wooded lot in December. Casey Anthony has pleaded not guilty.

#145 & 146 — Kleat — I agree with both your posts. No matter how I look at this … upside down, right side up, sideways … it still appears the same. A beautiful 2 year-old child was SACRIFICED in the interest of keeping family secrets, and her death and memory are being DISHONORED in the interest of keeping up appearances. I’ve never been so appalled. I can’t look at a picture or video of Caylee without feeling as if I’ve been punched in the gut.

  43. Kleat says:

Todd, simple answer– yes. But that is NOT in any discovery

  44. Marcy says:

Snip from news quote in Loca’s post #188: Anthony’s attorneys said they need Lazzaro’s cell phone records to “search for the truth.”

I thought Baez et al. already knew the truth. Huh.

Is it my imagination, or does it seem that Baez & his team really don’t have a firm idea of how they will present their case?

  45. Kleat says:

Marcy, Casey could be finger pointing at the bf who wasn’t going to stick around Orlando for her– after a couple weeks of ‘going steady/livin’ in.

I wonder how many lives have to be destroyed– the more the merrier for Ms. Casey A.

  46. Kleat says:

Any evidence that Casey was gambling on the net and could her use of credit cards and loss of money, be tied to that? If Casey had purchased goods with the credit cards, those would be able to be returned for credit. Lee did a lot of ‘searching’ for those types of answers– where did Casey get her ‘dollars’, when questioning Tony.

Ummmmmmm . . . has that Second Life Recreation video been edited since yesterday? Cause unless I dreamed it, the camera used to pan in closer to the autopsy table showing for a split second only the duct tape on the face and the hair mat. Was that too graphic for people? I think it must have been as I’ve read a couple comments as to how hard it was to just see the autopsy tables and it seems to have been removed. I must be a cold-hearted b*tch because honestly? I didn’t find it upsetting at all. To me it was all very sterile, cold, clinical, medical drawing-type feel to it. But it’s upsetting to some, huh? I must be going to Hell.
