Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: New Discovery Released Includes FBI Lab Results

Orlando, FL– This morning the 9th Circuit State Attorney’s Office released over 1000 documents  in the latest batch of discovery previously given to the defense team representing Casey Anthony.

The documents are expected to include FBI lab reports that are critical to the case; some of which had been “leaked” to the press last week.

In the first part of the release, the information seems to focus on Dominick Casey’s report of “threat asessment” or cheat sheet as he referred to it. He specifically mentions the knife Leonard Padilla keeps in a sheath in the rear waistline of his pants. He also alleges one of the detectives in the case is having an affair with reporter Jessica D’onofrio.

In an e-mail sent to Cindy Anthony on Feb. 2 at 4:38 a.m., the private investigator tells her: “I found out tonight that Jessica Denofrio [sic] is having an affair with one of the Detectives at OCSO. Have not found out which Detective it is yet but working on finding out.”

Blinkoncrime will be updating links to information as it is released.

I don’t know what caused the impression. There seems to be mixed reports out there. I’ve heard that it may be an impression left from where Caylee was laying :( :( – and they were able to pick it up from some sort of digital enhancement.

But, it’s unclear, right now, what actually caused the outline of a precious little girl’s body.

If that is truly what it is…I cannot begin to tell you how heartsick I am about it. I cannot, for one second, even begin to imagine that beautiful child’s last moments.

    How unspeakably horrifying.

Blink … one quick question … some of the stuff Dom dug up on some of the “players” was quite interesting, including the IM session and fictitious name info regarding William Murtaugh! OMG, I used to kind of follow the chats regarding Murt’s site last summer when all this first broke and all us bloggers were trying to find Caylee. I know Dom is just as underhanded as the Ant’s which is probably why he can even stomach working for them, but is any of the information he appeared to have dug up on RG, JG, TL, JP and specifically Murt and the link to Haleigh, etc actually hold any merit? Is ANY of this stuff possibly actually true in any form? If so, I am overwhelmingly shaking my head and ready to cry … I thought I knew pretty much everything there was to know about all the “players” until this. Never in my life have I witnessed so much evil in one place.

I think I also remember reading in one of Amy H. transcripts that Casey borrowed duct tape from her. I think it was for the NO Clothes party or Anything but clothes part. Casey used it to tape the flag on herself.

OK, It’s 11:44 here in Orlando and no “news” or “press conference” from Brad Conway with his so important info? Whats up with that, its on every news station and paper today that he was holding a news confernece at 11:00 and then nothing. Did I miss something? I scanned all the local stations and nothing.
Well….that’s typical for the Anthony’s and the defense, make big claims and never back it up.
And no one responded to my earlier post about the texts re: Danielle Brofi, she is insinuating that Jesse Grund raped or assaulted someone in the past. Any one find out who she is yet, who she is texting/threatening?

Teri, thank you for responding and providing the link.
    Much appreciated.

I understand the communications from FBI were in regards only to the photo/image of the stain, as per the released documents.

What I am having trouble with is that the statement,

“The stain Cowan observed was found not to be caused by any biological liquid, such as blood or fluids from decomposition. No DNA was found in the stain.”

is written by the author of the WESH article and is a conclusion drawn by the media, not an actual FBI statement in any of the released documents.

I still think decompositional fluids are present in that particular stain.

I so did not catch that wp, many thanks, Im with you on that one

  6. Charlotte says:

Yep, it was in May. Here is the mention of it:

“One specific posting in late May, from who appears to be Casey’s former best friend Amy Huizenga, reads, “You lost my duct tape. I was excited to have so much left. That’s why (sic) I get for giving you my purse.”

The date it appeared to be posted, May 26, was around the same time as a “no clothes party” Casey attended. She had wrapped herself in a flag and, according to her, nothing else.

Eyewitness News passed the Facebook information along to law enforcement and they are investigating the possibility that the duct tape mentioned is somehow connected to the case.

  7. Pamela says:

Ok, they finally showed Brad Conway @ noon here in Orlando. Nothing new, he is saying the public needs to remember Casey is innocent until proven guilty, there may be issues with evidence…blah blah blah. Again, no probative evidence that changes the current views. I can’t believe that Brad is such a pawn to the Anthony’s. If he thinks that this will help him in his political career, he has forgotten several very important elements
    1. The people vote for the position. If he can be so easily manipulated by the Anthony’s he probably could not be an effective impartial judge, and I would never vote for him after this, knowing that political gain is more important to him than “Truth”.
    2. He made statements that he was providing “evidence” that was previously not divulged by the SA’s office. He provided nothing new today, so he is not above lying to further the interests of his clients, which is not good for an officer of the court sworn to uphold the truth.

Also, this computer dude who reported seeing Casey and Caylee at his shop and then later at a Walmart is very very suspicious to me. The fact that he remembers details from over a year ago so clearly. The fact that his memories are based on his “appreciation” of Casey’s cleavage. The fact that he says “I feel so bad, I am the last person to see Caylee alive”. Sounds more like another person who is trying to ingratiate himself into this story to make a quick buck. Casey’s cell phone pings for the days in question are not in the area of his shop, or Maitland/Casselberry. She is a creature of habit who stayed mainly in a small radius near her home, with all the computer stores nearer to her home, and some of them very small independant shops that might accept checks, I find it hard to believe she would go so far out of her way to his shop. Its not far in distance, but with our traffic it could take her 45 minutes to an hour from her home to his location.
And, as mentioned before, why did he wait so long to come forward?

I as a grandparent could not even cope with knowing my grandaughter was killed and kept in a trunk and than disposed like garbage. I have never seen anything like the likes of this bazaar family. they have issues that go way back. it was like a train wreck waiting to happen in that family. I do not feel any pity or empathy for them. In the begining slightly but after seeing cindy and george/lee in action!! I totaly am disgusted with them. it breaks my heart totaly sad.. now she is our sunshine. justice god please.

Hi All – I’ve been reading here for a long time & rarely ever post anything. Just a quick question for you all: Why the big deal with the duct tape not matching? It’s not like the Anthony home was a sealed crime scene. Anyone in that house could have gotten rid of anything that could have been evidence at any time. It’s not like anybody was checking what people with access to that home were carrying in & out…..how much time lapsed between when the body was dumped, and search warrants were issued for the Anthony home? This is nothing but a media ploy.

The ‘Stain issue’ addressed last evening:

    Quote:

“GRACE: To Dr. Marty Makary, physician and professor of public health joining us from Johns Hopkins. He`s in Washington, D.C. tonight.

Dr. Makary, can you imagine — I mean, you deal with children all the time. Any circumstance that a child should be lying in a car trunk?

DR. MARTY MAKARY, PHYSICIAN, PROF. OF PUBLIC HEALTH, JOHNS HOPKINS: Not at all. And you know, a hair cell and a stain may sound trivial, but it is a treasure trove of forensic medical evidence. You can tell not only the color and the treatment down to the shampoo or conditioner used that day but the root describes whether or not it`s been pulled, naturally fell out, or sloughed off from blood flow being cut off from someone`s death.

Same with the stain. There`s mold, fungus, and moisture that builds up without DNA that can outline any body, given the pressure of a person in that position.

    GRACE: Explain.

MAKARY: Well, a person in that position is going to have an indentation simply from the pressure, and moisture will form an outline. That moisture will then be co-infected or, as we say, colonized with bacteria and fungus that will form a periphery or rim around that silhouette. And that`s what investigators can look at without any DNA evidence and make a pretty strong conclusion that that was a body.

GRACE: Well, Doctor, you have just very beautifully demonstrated why you are the M.D. and I`m just the J.D. It makes perfect sense when you say it that way. ”

Didn’t George at one time describe the stain to LE as a “basketball-sized stain”, also indicating that it was new when he retrieved the car from the tow yard? I recall him describing how he put his head close to the stain and described the smell as horrible. Was he talking about another stain in the trunk, separate from the so-called child-sized stain? It could have been on a video. I seem to recall George demonstrating roundness of the stain as he was describing it.

Of course we are talking about George and he has many stories.

Ithough I cant get any more livid with A’s and let me tell ya- keep surprising my self..I am just reading about statement (ref 183) :” Then Cindy says, “We are going to be filing with our attorney any negative media webstuff, trying to get websites closed down. So I am just going to let you know. I have not investigated yours but we are trying to get a lot of websites closed down”
This is whats wrong with this picture – they dont have a grisp of the reality, A’s are sooo narrow minded it s not funny any more !! They saw some money and some media attention and they think they reign
In my country we say ” Give somebody enough money and you can see their real
    value !”

  17. Kleat says:

kp-in, it makes sense that the type of rare duct tape would be chosen for use in costuming for the ‘anything but clothes’ party because as we’ve seen in photos of similar costume parties, things tend to ‘heat up’ to quite a degree. The specialized use tape is the practical choice– wouldn’t want the tape to fail as the temperature rises!!

So the A’s are putting themselves out there again, as they’ve done every time we’ve had a doc dump. No news there. But now they’re asking the public to wait until trial to decide Casey’s guilt or innocence. And if I heard Conway correctly, he’s also asking for people to be more accepting of the A’s (because people say some really bad things about them – duh). I’m wondering if any of this has anything to do with the fact that maybe 48 Hours Mystery has told them that due to the public outcry, their show will not be aired as originally planned. Or maybe they’re just afraid that that’s what will happen and their next paycheck (I mean licensing fee) won’t be coming for quite some time. Better get out and start swaying some public opinion.

  21. Snowy says:

#44 – So, what kind of investigator is Dominic Casey if he does not know how this ZG came to be known to police and to media?

DC to Cindy: I believe… Casey has found out something that is beyond our imaginations at this time, hence the silence…

Sounds like pillow talk to me. Seems DC enjoys placating Cindy for that extra piece of cake. And what is drinking coffee without an extra piece of cake? As the tradition goes, fleecing is always a little less complete without the proper dessert.

  22. ChicagoJudy says:

Yes, Conway did say that they are looking for a live Caylee with a Zenaida in Puerto Rico. Even though he thinks Cindy does not want to accept the fact that Caylee’s gone, there is still a possibility in her mind because the A’s never saw the results of the DNA test that was done to prove it was Caylee’s body! No kidding; that’s what he said!

News Media is wrong Teri, there was no picture taken of the heart shaped residue on the duct tape. There is a picture of the trunk stain. Hopefully, we will see the enhanced version.

  24. SuzeeB says:

You mean Cindy didn’t have the remains independently tested to prove to LE it was not Caylee. Then why did she have the remains cremated?
That would suggest she had remains cremated that she believed was someone other than her granddaughter. Especially, if she is still having people watched in Puerto Rico.

    Is this a crime?
To me, to you, yes. Great Question though. They touted “Guardian of Remainship”.. what is that burden and responsibility?

Ok I ask that, and then logic kicks in, WTF is wrong with these people?

Possible, yes, But I believe it can also mean that she was put in their immediately after death/duct tape and spent the 16th-18th in it. If that laundry bag did not come from the Anthony’s, and imo, it did not, it will tie down when she was moved.

  35. SuzeeB says:

I cant see the A’s pushing LE to get the James Thompson statement as it would totally contradict the George Anthony’s statement as to the last time he saw Casey and Caylee unless of course they didn’t know what specifically he had to say.

James Thompson said he saw them at Casselberry Walmart on the 16th around lunchtime and Casey was wearing hot shorts and a cleveage bearing top.

One of his thoughts was why wasn’t Caylee in day care or school? Why? Caylee wasn’t quite 3, besides she’s in the care of her mother at that particular moment And she is to young for school. I thought that was an odd statement to make. Of course most of what he said was odd.

I agree, but as I wrote in a previous article, the pings imo, outed George as at a minimum, being “mistaken” about the last time he saw Casey and Caylee leave. I think he will say that he had “wrong day” right memory. That said, it is my personal opinion that he lied about it under the string belief that is the day she died. What better alibis?

Therefore, in the face of that, an account of her “alive” on that same day, is not a conflict. The report was oddly written with a slant to critisize Casey, it was not taken by OCSO, and he is a State witness. I am thinking his account of the week before may have been verified, but the date is off for June 16th.
    B

  36. SuzeeB says:

Boy if A’s have been having the suspects watched in Puerto Rico all this time, they must have some pretty hefty PI bills. I would like love to see them.

Right? If paid through their their public trust, that should be possible, no? O and if that is the case, how is it Baez did not pay Dominic Casey as agreed?
    B

  37. Kleat says:

Looking for a killer in March and officially tying such a ‘subject’ in documentation by D&A to Putnam County SO detective, means they are thinking along the lines of the same person having connections to Haleigh and to Caylee as late as this spring.

But then Ms. Lyon says no indication of homicide in this case. So, why all this work and expense (public donations– hey it’s free to them– suckers!) to look for a kidnapper/murderer? Did the kidnapper accidentally kill and duct tape the child and dump her near her family home?

Ms. Lyon has a lot to overcome with the family’s own actions of trying to put this ‘non-crime’ death on someone else.

  38. Kleat says:

Oh wait, Ms. Lyons might propose a SIDS death, or maybe the child got a hold of some duct tape (it tears easily according to the specs) and taped her own mouth and nose and then couldn’t get it off.

Why on earth would Baez not advise his client to explain the accident????! Long ago…

  39. Kleat says:

Blink, do you think Ricardo would own such a laundry bag? Doesn’t seem like a guy kind of thing to buy.

  40. Kleat says:

Could Thompson’s ‘slant’ to criticise Casey (nothing terrible– no physical abuse etc, just a tired of a whiny baby scene, error maybe in judgement at most), actually be a defense move? Cindy and Dom dug him up from another date encounter, then got him to report it, therefore the time difference?

It just seems too odd that this guy comes out a year late, when it’s such a publicized case, and the date of her last seen was either around June 8 or June 16, the day after father’s day. It fits something he should have brought to investigators earlier– not though, if he saw them at the store much earlier without some date that coincided with the timeline(s) of the disappearance.

I am suspicious of this new state witness and his too critical account– remember Lee also, was critical of Casey, critical of his mother… in the early LE interviews. Make them feel you are on their side, your story is believable if you add a bit of criticism in the mix.

  41. Kleat says:

And if the state says that this witness saw the baby on the 16th, that would work in the defense’s favour– why would they cross-examine him, except to make it look good for them?

  42. Kleat says:

In last minutes, Richard Hornsby for WESH, comments on the latest motions to dismiss– the are too little and far too late– he predicts the State will pick up on this and will ask for dismissal of these motions without a hearing.

Whoa… Ms. Lyon apparently (according to Hornsby) doesn’t know Florida law very well.

So– where does this ‘MISSION STATEMENT’ say that donations will be used for the Casey Anthony defense fund in any way, shape or form? Or is this “support to families” qualification? Trips to Puerto Rico? Trips to NYC to go on CBS’s show? Pretty vague– self-serving.

    Kleat, hello

If the June 16th, around lunchtime sighting is accurate,
then that blows both the Zanny the Nanny drop off time/kidnapping story and GA’s time account of last seeing his daughter and granddaughter,
out of the water. Bad for the defense.
    Also, if credible, this witness goes towards CA’s actions and state of mind towards her daughter (close to the State’s time of death}
as those of not a loving mother – - a mother who appeared resentful, uncaring, and detached from her child.
He also provides alternative testimony from others who have said, “she always seemed like a good mother”…”she was an overprotective mother”, etc. Yeah, when they were watching. But this guy (again, if credible) was an unplanned, unnoticed observer of the interaction between mother and child.

  45. Kleat says:

wpgmouse, yes, thanks… maybe he’s one of several who saw them that day. Funny that Casey might have been scoping out a place to spend a ‘cheque’ later in the week– she said she had some chequing account of her own, but did she really, or was she just ‘planning ahead’ for when she might steal some from someone else to buy that monitor when she was on her ’31 day vacation’.

Looks to me from some of the comments by KC that it was being Over protective it was pure old fashioned JEALOUSY and she didnt want Caylee to get any atteniton at all.

I also feel that Annie knows MORE than she is telling unless LE redacted some of her interview. She really contradicted herself a few times during the interview.

  50. SuzeeB says:

Maybe Caylee just didn’t like her. The Grunds didn’t seem to have a problem with Caylee.

Maria Kish didn’t think much of Casey’s mothering skills, Caylee being out on that balcony and Casey in the bedroom with Tony.

But to be fair, most people thought Casey was or appeared to be a good mother for the time that Caylee and Casey were around them.
