Caylee/Casey Anthony Case: New Discovery Released Includes FBI Lab Results

Orlando, FL– This morning the 9th Circuit State Attorney’s Office released over 1000 documents  in the latest batch of discovery previously given to the defense team representing Casey Anthony.

The documents are expected to include FBI lab reports that are critical to the case; some of which had been “leaked” to the press last week.

In the first part of the release, the information seems to focus on Dominick Casey’s report of “threat asessment” or cheat sheet as he referred to it. He specifically mentions the knife Leonard Padilla keeps in a sheath in the rear waistline of his pants. He also alleges one of the detectives in the case is having an affair with reporter Jessica D’onofrio.

In an e-mail sent to Cindy Anthony on Feb. 2 at 4:38 a.m., the private investigator tells her: “I found out tonight that Jessica Denofrio [sic] is having an affair with one of the Detectives at OCSO. Have not found out which Detective it is yet but working on finding out.”

Blinkoncrime will be updating links to information as it is released.

I think this report is horse poop! look at the date and it is like the guy is writing his novel, how does he know how Casey was feeling and how does this guy know anything?
He didn’t even give this report until July of 2009? and we have it already. If this report was important we certainly would have heard about it before and also we wouldnt be seeing this at all right now IMO…. it makes me mad when people try to get their 5 minutes of fame here… BLink have you even read this one? yikes!
what do you think of it?

I have read it. Since I am of the opinion from the onset this account reads more like a dude with a fistful of Maxim’s in his restroom, I am suspect. For me, and I am not sure what this says, the biggest question I would have asked, was what kind of Beanie Baby was it? What color, what animal? Where did he get it? Did he track the serial data? Was it an actual beanie baby or webkins, which while probably too advanced for Caylee to play online, would be a way to track if it was ever activated.

What was Caylee wearing? What did she say she wanted the monitor for? Did she ask about any other kind of interfaces, like video/audio? Does his store or ones in his strip mall carry duct tape?

I am also thinking since this is a notarized statement on Maitland letterhead, and so far there is no accompanying LE interview, this may have come from a nudge from the A’s.. Look, another person spotting them on the 16th..

“The report said the stain that resembles the outline of a child was not caused from any body fluid…i.e. no blood, decomp.”

Has anyone else read a released report that says or refers to the above?

I’ve only found the “initial” documented communication regarding the quality of the photo-imaging of this stain received by the FBI.
And just to add … one would think as a result of this initial communication that a “best quality” photo-image was then obtained
by FBI forensics for analysis (which we are not privy to).

    Good Evening, Kleat.

Did you notice that the ZG woman for “ID purposes”
is dressed, wrapped in an American flag?

  5. paperdollz says:

Is there information on cindy and dc’s affair in these email exchanges?

  6. Kleat says:

Olive, yes, thanks!– just now saw that too!! That is shocking– that means that either the body was not that of Caylee Marie Anthony, OR, that the little brush-switcheroo that Cindy did earlier with LE, was confusing enough to compare the wrong source of hair with that found attached to the duct tape. Do we now have the reasons for the spring and summer 2009 emails between Cindy and Domi about finding little ‘live’ Caylee?

(assuming Brad is referring to the duct tape on the child’s mouth that extended to the sides of the skull to catch the hair)

Since you gave the headline I’ll give the first two sentences:

“Reported By Jacqueline Fell and Scott Harris

ORLANDO — Brad Conway, the attorney for George and Cindy Anthony, said he plans to release even more documents Wednesday, even after the state made more than 1,000 pages of information public Tuesday.

Sources said information Conway is expected to release will show that duct tape found at the crime scene does not match duct tape recovered from the Anthony home, and hair found on the duct tape does not belong to either Casey or Caylee Anthony.”

(was the Cindy brush scam on John Allen and team, and FBI, successful?? If so, this woman is beyond belief– and could tomorrow’s revelation by Brad, help Casey, or seal Cindy’s fate in her obstruction of justice?)

  7. Kleat says:

Just a thought– Cindy would know that Amy ‘dated’ a firefighter– that duct tape could be something available to a firefighter since it’s heat resistant. Maybe they will try to draw that link instead.

  8. Kleat says:

another way to read that cfnews13 report about the ‘hair’– Brad could be referring to a different distinct ‘hair’ found on the duct tape, not the matted hair that hopefully belonged to Caylee, and not some other baby never to be identified now.

Could the ‘hair’ that Brad raises not that of Caylee or Casey, have coincidentally been from the same source as the ‘hair’ that the most world famous Dr. Henry Lee found in the car trunk? And how was said ‘hair’ attached? from the edge of the tape as could be then from a secondary source after the fact– from the ‘laundry bag’ perhaps (unknown as yet where that was from), or flat underneath the tape or layers of tape? Casey did spend time in the Grund’s bathroom that day, and time at other boyfriends places– like the swim gear guy.

Will be very interesting to see who they are tagging with blame on this one.

  9. Kleat says:

(maybe one of the crime scene FBI workers contaminated it this time– !! That will be three for three, if that’s the case… dna tech, crime scene recovery, and fingerprint specialist– the whole FBI lab work can be tossed out!! No case!!)

I would think the State knew about the Duct Tape mess long before they brought the DP back on the table, it might be disturbing and sick but it isn’t their best piece of evidence. 16. NGfromBoston says:

I’d like to cut to the chase here regarding this last document dump which is mind numbing, to say the least. Do we really CARE who was having an affair with who? Most of this information in DC’s investigative notes is immaterial.

Where I take my solace is in knowing that Casey Anthony is going to have next to an impossible chance of beating these Murder charges—simply because, for starters—there is just WAY TOO MUCH circumstantial evidence which supports the fact that she took the life of her own child. At a minimum, even if by some slim chance she did not intentionally murder Caylee and it was an accident—just by the fact alone that she hid the child’s disappearance and all the cover up and lies afterwards leaves Casey Anthony in a position that I believe no jury is going to let her off scott free for.

As far as the staining in the trunk goes- the part that bothers me is that it has been reported that George/Cindy were asked about this previously and stated that this stain was in the car when they bought it for Lee originally and had been there all along. That will appear to be resting in the hands of Forensic specialist to disseminate- but it seems to the casual observer that LE may have a harder time proving this theory. Regardless, it still is going to be a cold day in hell and my money is on the fact that Casey Anthony will never see the light again. I agree with Blink that there is far more incriminating evidence in terms of prints, etc. that LE has not yet divulged.

Attention Cindy Anthony: I am sorry that you will now have to bear losing another child. Perhaps if you had not been so selfish and careless in finding the truth when it came to your missing/murdered Grandchild- you would not be in the position you are in today. It’s 100% disgusting that you keep accepting money for your pathetic interviews from the media as well. If every American in this Country knows and accepts that Casey had something to do with Caylee’s death—WHY CAN’T YOU??? Your denial is disgusting, Cindy—give it up. Casey Anthony will either spend her life in prison, die on death row or be given the needle! That is your future and there is no way around it!

REST IN PEACE CAYLEE MARIE ANTHONY

Actually George is on record saying the stain was new. Cindy not so much.
On the media paying for interviews and exclusives? Simple solution? DO NOT WATCH. The metrics on these broadcasts are so sophisticated if enough of us were to not so much as turn on the TV to watch it, it would send a huge statement.
I am a journalist and it is my job to cover these things. I have NOT and WILL NOT watch a single interview when it airs for that very reason. I catch it from youtube links from you guys, which gives them squat.

My heart, my soul, clear through to my marrow is absolutely screaming! SCREAMING!! And my eyes burn with tears of utter disbelief! The duct tape doesn’t match, Brad?!? The hair attached to the duck tape that was wrapped about the skull — the only whole part of innocense left in the wake of Casey, Cindy, George and Lee — doesn’t belong to Caylee? What the ….. Brad!?! Have you, also, lost your mind! Most certainly, perhaps, your conscience, along with the rest of them! Does the notoriety mean so much or have you just been hangin’ out with the Anthony’s too long! And what the ____ are you suggesting? That the skull, itself, isn’t Caylee’s? Is that what you believe? Is that what all of you are trying to prove, that there is some question as to the remains, and in particular the skull, which would justify Cindy’s continuing search for a live Caylee? Are you nuts, or just another narcissist out for your one moment of fame and glory?

Do none of you care about justice for Caylee? It would most certainly seem not, with the exception of George, at times, whom I expect to crack under the pressure of cross by the State. And while I’m at it, what about Casey, for Pete’s sake? Do you honestly believe that you’re helping her by covering up for her? Do you not yet understand the mess you have made of her by never having held her accountable for any of her ill actions? If you loved her — if you really, really loved her, you would hold her accountable for all that she’s done. understanding full well that the main objective of the LAW is even to protect us from ourselves. but it can only do that when we hold ourselves accountable to it!

How much longer will this go on? Making excuses for her blatant lies and thievery, not to mention the very real probability that she murdered her own daughter? Do you not understand that if she is allowed to get away with this too, she is sure to wreak but more havoc if allowed to be free, and I well imagine that the next time (Heaven forbid!) if given the chance, she well may do worse and all of you will have proven yourselves to be nothing but blubbering fools! Is that what you want?

And for God’s sake, won’t someone please tell me what that memorial service was all about, if in fact, the belief was that Caylee was still alive and that it wasn’t her being that was found in the woods, which is what Brad, in essence, is saying and proclaiming that the hair on the duck tape doesn’t belong to Caylee, and that the duct tape doesn’t match! O, I get it now! It was Haleigh’s hair that was attached to Caylee’s skull via duck tape that came from the Cumming’s house?

SCREAMING!!! And I demand that you, Cindy, return all of the money that was so graciously donated to you during the Memorial service for Caylee, if, in fact, you didn’t believe it was Caylee that you were memorializing, and in so doing you further defrauded the public.

    Gavi.

Blink, how is it that a defense attorney, that is not even representing the defendant, has supposed “evidence” that he will release that “raises serious questions in this case”? Is this possibly another ploy by the defense to throw everything against the wall in the hopes of not all the dirt falls off? Interesting how this is all of a sudden being “presented” now. Is it possible that Baez or Conway can “manufacture” evidence in the hopes of it looking legitimate? I didn’t know defense attorneys had the same capacity and ability as the state when it comes to forensics and such. UUUGGGHH these people are slimy for attempting to get this murderer off the hook. Funny how only Conway has a report claiming the ducttape at the crime scene doesn’t match the tape at home. I wonder how long it took Conway to “doctor” this little gem

  21. Mariann says:

Seems as though it’s a stunt to try and change the minds of anyone who is following this story. Why would he want to try this case in the media? It all kinda reeks from signs of desperation and paranoia. Just throwing chit at the fan and hoping something sticks!

  24. orlandoan says:

    Gavriella,

    1. The reason Caylee’s hair was wet was that it was raining very heavily the day the remains were found and the investigation there began. The area had been flooded during the TES search time because of Hurricane Fay. That eventually dried, but the area was definitely rain soaked that fateful day in December.

    2. Good question about whether Casey may have taken Caylee there to hang out during the day. I live in Orlando and have been to the site. ….only a crazy person (??oh, well, maybe her) would hang out there. It is densely overgrown with palmettos, pines, kudzu, and dozens of other invasive flora….and large snakes, venomous. There is no place to hang out. The area the teens used to hang out is many yards away from the dump site.

Thoughtful post you have there and likewise to others on this very detailed and reliable blog.

  25. westsidehudson says:

(Today) Maybe there will be more documents pertaining to D Casey’s contract. Also, rather than simply exculpatory evidence for Casey, perhaps Conway has more documents that put his clients in a better light than yesterday’s batch.

Well, seeing a fresh day, I have to admit that a good deal of the scientific evidence for the state has really turned to feces. A part of me does wonder how long ago the discovery was released to the defense. If it was only recently, a week before or so, than it takes on the appearance of looking to conceal findings for as long as possible. What compounds the injury is that some of the result info was released before the final product without the definitive answers and, of course, the contamination of evidence.

It seems as though the state side has shot itself in the foot. Now they will have to contend with elements of bumbling, and erroneous dissemination of results.

This case is unusual in that it is a stronger cleaner one without the scientific analysis. CSI fans, will not be happy without that pristine wrap-up of scientific proof.

Here’s how it looks without testing:

Toddler is not seen for 31 plus days, her mother never calls police or tells anyone else.
Her car is found with “the smell of a dead body”, attested to by many, including the mother’s parents.
Toddler is last seen alive with her mother. The mother lies to investigators, admits this, and never cooperates again.
The mother never exhibits any distress or concern to anyone, and carries on as if nothing happened, lying about the location of the missing toddler within the 31 days.
The mother points guilt at an individual that has no paper trail, no phone numbers or address, no car tag, no internet mapping, no other witnesses to her existence.
The mother changes the story line about how the abduction transpired.
The mother’s parents change statements and deflect responsibility onto peripheral characters based on innuendo from the mother, but with no further explanation of motive, opportunity to commit the crime, or concrete connection to a, as yet, phantom individual.
The remains are found very close to the mother’s home, with the child’s belongings.
There is no documentation that the mother further assisted her own investigators in locating the alleged perpetrator, or providing reasons why the perp went from caring and loving the child, to involving other sinister individuals who killed the child, and what their connections were.

There is a very strong circumstantial case at the heart of all this. Of course the defense doesn’t have to prove connections or motives, but since their client was adamant about the nanny scenario and signed a statement to police, in a way, they are stuck with explaining this. Casey would have been better off telling police that it was a ‘stranger abduction’, then the deflection of guilt all around would not require any footnotes.

Now, I suppose a large portion of the prosecutions time will be spent in countering mud slinging about it’s forensics, and rightfully so, by the defense.

Because Todd, they are looking to have the case dismissed. I am feeling now that they may have a better chance at it. We don’t know what evidence was presented to the grand jury. #154—-Even if this is true—to break this down in laymen’s terms—so WHAT if the duct tape found on the skull does not “match” the type of duct tape found in the Anthony home?

Does it not go without saying that whatever duct tape was eventually used on Caylee’s skull really doesn’t matter….if what Blink is alluding to is true—there are prints of Casey’s on the tape, regardless?? A print from her anywhere near/or on collected evidence would be the nail in the coffin…so we will continue to have faith.

I don’t believe the destruction of the heart shaped sticker residue amounts to squat! And the DNA of a female lab technician getting on the duct tape is easily explained away…according to many experts on television last night, its pretty common for this to happen. With or without fingerprints on that duct tape, she WILL be convicted.

  31. dddeerma says:

Wow, take a day off line and look what all happens! First, I don’t see the duct tape DNA contamination as a serious problem. If the DNA had not been identified as a FBI worker, that would have been different.

Conway’s grandstand play for today? This is the man who said on Larry King live that the autopsy would show that the duct tape was NOT wrapped around Caylee’s mouth. They really believed that George and his crocodile tears would get the autopsy details suppressed until trial. “Not matching” can mean many things, especially to a lawyer who is strangely inserting himself into the criminal trial. He might mean that the ends of the duct tape do not match between the body duct tape and the gas can duct tape. Weasel words, from someone who increasingly is looking like yet another weasel lawyer. Brad Conway: beware the Anthony curse. Don’t let your reputation be sucked down their rat hole.

The outline of Caylee’s body can be admitted as a picture, but not conclusively as proof it was her. Measurements can be made of relative size and I would not be surprised to further evidence as to how the outline came to be. ???? Could Cindy have cleaned up any evidence of bodily fluids, but have been unable to remove the staining that was left? Was the trunk liner removed as evidence? What was under the trunk liner? Stains can remain on metal.

Just when I get to thinking that nothing about this case can be new or upsetting, something comes along that just blows me away. This outline is so pitiful and horrendous that surely someone in ORlando has hidden George’s new gun. How can those two so called grandparents even survive the thought of the child lying in the trunk?

  32. Gavriella says:

133: Don’t give it up. You can’t give it up. Caylee needs you. Caylee needs all of us. Aside from that, I would imagine that the State will, eventually, go after Cindy, in particular. For now they are just biding their time while building their case even as the Anthony’s dig deeper their graves. Every little lie is added to the pile. Every little indescrepency is added to the list. We don’t want Cindy to shut up. We want her to further incriminate herself and her daughter by adding to the evidence that will be presented at trial. In the meantime, we can all hope and pray that the impression left in the trunk will yet be determined to be that of Caylee.

    Gavriella, fondly.

Here is a link to the article regarding the stain – and lack of DNA material:

    http://www.clickorlando.com/health/21139699/detail.html

    It specifically says:

“FBI Intelligence Analyst Karen B. Cowan wrote in an e-mail dated Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, that “a very interesting photo exists of the trunk liner, which you have, which highlights the very large stain. If you look closely at this photo, there appears to be the outline or silhouette of a child in the fetal position. You can make out what may be the back, bottom, and legs most clearly. The image is best viewed on a computer screen, rather than a printout, but several of us can see this image and agree there is good chance we are seeing something significant.”

The e-mail was addressed to Erin P. Martin of the FBI, and can be found on page 34 of this document.

But two days later, on Oct. 2, FBI supervisory photographic technologist Richard W. Vorder Bruegge told Cowan the lab would not speculate about what left the image: “Others can draw their own conclusions about that.”

The stain Cowan observed was found not to be caused by any biological liquid, such as blood or fluids from decomposition. No DNA was found in the stain.”

Ok then, is it a stain or an impression/depression outline?

I meant did anyone tell you that they were having their lawyers “look into” your site?

I did not have a site then, she was not referring to me. Since that time, yes, they have been here.

I am with you on that statement, it is prints or one hell of a piece of trace evidence that clearly ties Casey to the crime scene and the murder of her baby, there is no way they just put the DP back on the table on a wish and a prayer.

Wow I finally read all the posts, now off to read more of the the docs to compare my notes and questions, can’t wait for the sun to rise in the West to here more.

  47. westsidehudson says:

Yes Blink, it appears, like Casey, Cindy can not be forthright even about inconsequential issues.

    # 191- A new development though, I was interested to see if Brad contacted you lately about your website.

  48. westsidehudson says:

either the #’s changed or I mesed up, I’d guess the latter.
    Regrets.

Long time reader, overwhelming Blink fan and 1st time poster …

Can someone please explain to me how the Anthony’s all seem to keep avoiding the inevitable charges that should’ve come their way a long time ago? I know LE has to bide their time and do what’s most crucial for their case in the long run, but good golly! The degree of evil and deception in this family is beyond imagination! If it were any of us in this same circumstance, Lord knows we all would’ve been slapped with obstruction and lying to authorities charges months ago! WHY are the Anthony’s allowed to run amuck for the last 15 mths without any consequences coming their way either now or in the future? Is LE just biding their time until charges can be brought once the trial is eventually over? Cindy really needs to be sharing cell block with her daughter and George needs to get some lessons on how to effectively lie … he’s God awful at it! Blink … thank you for everything that you do and keep on keeping on!
